Thischaptercontainsimportantsafetyinstructions.Youmustread,understand,andcomply

PTU‐D300installationandsetupshouldbeonlybeperformedbyqualifiedpersonnel.
Theinstallationmustcomplywithallapplicablecodes(suchasbuildingcodes,marinesafety
codes,etc.).
Theinstallationmustbefreeofobstructionsthroughouttheentirerangeofpan‐tiltmotion.
Whenplanningtheinstallation,makesuretotakethepayloadintoaccounttoensurethat
thePTU‐D300andpayloadremainunobstructedatalltimes.
Allmountingmethodsandmaterialsmustbecapableofsupportingatleastfourtimesthe
combinedweightofthePTU‐D300,mountedpayloads,andcabling.
Corrosion‐resistanthardware(suchasstainlesssteelscrews)mustbeusedforalloutdoor
installations.
DonotinstallthePTU‐D300inanylocationthatexceedsthePTU‐D300’senvironmental
specifications.
Alwaysincorporateareadilyaccessiblepowerdisconnectintotheinstallationwiring.(See

7. PoweronthePTU‐D300byturningontheswitchonthepowerstrip.Ifpowerisworking,
theunitwillbeginaself‐calibrationandtextwillappearonyourterminalidentifyingthe
unit’sconfiguration.
8. Testpan‐tiltoperationbytypingcommandsintoyourterminalprogram.Thefollowing
commandsequencewillfamiliarizeyouwithbasicPTU‐D300operation:
pp2500 * tp-900 * PS1900 * pp0 *
Thissequence:
setsthepanaxistoposition2500
setsthetiltaxistoposition‐900
setsthepanspeedto1900positionspersecond,and
setsthepanpositionbackhome.
9. PowerdownthePTU‐D300byturningofftheswitchonthepowerstrip.
