follow carefully all the information contained in this user 's manual. If not correctly followed, any fault observed
may not be covered by the guarantee.
Warning
Continuous listening at high sound level [above 11 OdB] can durably damage your hearing.
Listening above 130d8 can damage your hearing permanently.
The Focal guarantee only applies if the enclosed guarantee card ~
is returned to us within 10 days of purchase. ~
Important recommendations
Before attempting any installation work. it is very important to check how much space is available
to fit the speakers into the vehicle.
Key points:
• Ensure the speaker is clean from debris and metallic particles that may be attached [especially after drilling].
• Clean before mounting the speakers.
Conditions of guarantee
All Focal loudspeakers are covered by guarantee drawn up by the official Focal distributor in your country. Your
distributor can provide all details concerning the conditions of guarantee. Guarantee cover extends at least to that
granted by the legal guarantee in force in the countrywhere the original purchase invoice was issued.

IFBMW-SUB.V2 installation
-This kit has been designed for installation in a
• BMW® 1 Series [E81/82/87/88-F20/21l
• BMW® 3 Series [E90/91/92/93]
• BMW®xl [E84]
• BMW® 3 Series [F30/F31]
• BMW® 5 Series [F10/F11)
-The components of this dedicated kit are compatible with this vehicle's original connectors and fixings.
- Take extreme care when installing.
-Only the use of appropriate quality tools can guarantee optimal installation.
-Connectors are fragile electronic components. Handle with care.
-Follow these instructions correctly to ensure the proper functioning of the IFBMW-SUB.V2 kit.
-Before restarting your system, check your car radio settings [which differaccording to the vehicle's model,
version and engine).
WARNING
-Before beginning installation, disconnect the negative terminal of the battery to avoid any risk ofinjury fire material
damage and airbag deployment during you disconnect the plug under the seat).
The minimum delay to keep the battery unconnected is 30 mn to 1hour [following the years and model of earl.
- Do not leave the ignition k ey in the slot and do not involve no r the stop/ start button or key on during intervention.
- Keep the trunk opened during all the installation [unlocked position ).
In order to obtain the best results and safety installation (mentioned above),
we highly recommend you have your product installed by your local Focal dealer.

Front subwoofer access Iunderthe seat): Respect the explanation and use the specific tool I not supplied) for the
seat dismantling.
N°1. Subwoofer location
[under the front seats)
N°3. Rear screws to remove the seat
N°5. Unscrew with a torx 45 tool
N°7. Unscrew the rear screws
N°2. Front screws to remove the seat
N°4. Move the seat to the rear position
N°6. Move the seat to the front to have
access to rear screws
N°8. After 4 screws unscrewed, fall over
the seat to the front position

*Depends on cars models [and options of equipment! but you can have other connectors in addition of this yellow
one. In this case, please remove all of them carefully.

1) Speaker dismantling
Depends on models of BMW® cars but it may be that the subwoofer could be glued.
In the case of the speaker [N°1] is glued, the replacement will be final and damageable for it.
Be careful not to damage the plastic enclosure (N°4) which can be re used for the Focal IFBMW-SUB . V2 subwoofer
installation.

Before the IFBMW-SUB.V2 installation, please check that the surface between the subwoofer and the plastic factory
enclosure has no damage (the back rubber ring might be in contact with a clean surface].
Use the 4 supplied screws [short version] to fix the top FOCAL metal grille [N°1 lon the speaker [ N°21.
When subwoofer replacement is finish, please note to re install the top plastic BMW® factory grille [N°31.

2.2 IFBMW-SUB. V2 installati on (F20/F21/F30/F31 and busine ss versions for other models)
Some cars have a special location with lower height. In this case, use the accessory ring (N°5).
Before the IFBMW-SUB.V2 installation, please check that the surface between the subwooferand the plastic factory
enclosure has no damage (the back rubber ring might be in contact with a clean surface).
Use the 4 supplied screws (long version) to fix the top FOCAL metal grille [N°1) on the speaker [N°2).
