Operating instructions
The JY-260 Reclining Wheelchair is a modern, practical, stable, durable, with good heav resistance,
multifunctional and comfortable wheelchair. It is suitable for people with disabilities and for elderl people
with nursing and transport purposes.
The Reclining Wheelchairs are basicall assembled before selling. It is onl needed to proceed with
simple installation and adjustment of some movable accessories.
1. Check the content of the box to see whether the accessories, user manuals, etc, are complete. If
not, please contact our seller or the manufacturer.
2. Open the box and take out the wheelchair from the box. Place the wheelchair on the ground. Push
down the wheelchair seat until the wheelchair is completel opened and extended read for use. Put
down the both side boards from right and left side to their normal use position.
3. Turn the right and left footplates to the vertical position. Pull up the wheelchair from the center of the
seat with our hands and fold the both armrests to the center until the wheelchair is completel
folded.
4 Installation and adjustment of footrest (footplate):
Align and mount the footrest fixing tube into the front tube of he wheelchair frame. Then, gentl rotate the
leg support from outside to inside until the fixing tube is mounted into the fixing hole of the main frame.
If it is necessar to remove the leg support, grab the inner wrench of the leg support and press it
backwards. Twist the leg support outward to certain angle and elevate to remove it from the main frame.
Height adjustable footrest adjustment:
If it is necessar to adjust the height of footrest, press gentl the adjusting wrench with one hand and use
the other hand to elevate or to press down the footrest to the suitable height, then release the wrench.
Footplate adjustment:
Use the wrench to loosen counterclockwise a little the screw on the leg support connecting tube. Pull
down the inner tube of the footplate and adjust the footplate to the suitable place, then, tightened the screw
clockwise with the wrench.
5 Installation and adjustment of side boards and armrests
If it is necessar to remove the armrest, hold the upper part of the armrest frame with one hand and push
the fixing spring located at the front of the armrest frame, then pull the armrest upwards. If it is necessar
to install the armrests, align the armrest frame to the tube hole and plug and pat the armrest until the front
button is automaticall locked.
Precautions
Using the brakes
This wheelchair has two brake s stems. The applied s stem for the user is the pushing brake s stem.
When the wheelchair needs to be stopped and needs brakes to assure its immobilit , the user must hold
the brake handgrips from right and left side with both hands and push forward the brake handgrips until
the are automaticall locked to stop the rear wheels.
To unlock the brakes, move backwards the brake handgrips.
The other brake s stem is for the attendant and it is located at the back of the wheelchair beneath the
push bars. The attendant ma use the brake handgrips to stop the wheelchair from moving.
If brake is needed, use both hands to hold tight the brake handgrips from right and left side to stop the
wheelchair. This brake has the function of maintaining the immobilit of the wheelchair.
Self Propel Wheels (Handrims)
The user must first sit steadil on the wheelchair, grab the handrims with his/her hands and push the

handrims forward with the same force on both hands to make the wheelchair move forward, then loose
both hands off the handrims. When the wheelchair has slowed down its speed after certain distance of
movement, please repeat the above procedure.
Way to go upstairs
When the wheelchair is going upstairs, the user must have an attendant who will be assisting at the back
of the wheelchair. The attendant must step hard on the pedal located besides the rear wheels, so the
wheelchair ma incline backwards till the front wheels achieve the height of next step of the stairs. Push
the wheelchair forward a little and loose the feet from the pedal so the front wheels ma touch the step.
The attendant must push hard the wheelchair so the rear wheels ma move forward to the next step.
Repeat the procedure until the wheelchair achieves its destination.
Way to go downstairs
When the wheelchair is going downstairs, the user will need two attendants for assistance, one at the
front and the other at the back of the wheelchair. To be able to go downstairs, the attendant at the back
must hold the handgrips tight to assure the wheelchair will not fall off the stairs. The attendant at the front
must step down first and elevate the front frame of the wheelchair, then slowl and carefull pull the
wheelchair down from the stairs. Repeat the above procedure until the wheelchair achieves its destination.
Finall , the front attendant must put down the front frame of the wheelchair so the front wheels can touch
the ground.
Precautions for adjusting the backrest angle
This wheelchair provides the option of adjusting the angle of the backrest according to ever user's
needs.
The attendant must hold the pushing handgrip with both hands and push the c linders handgrips from
both sides at the same time with the fingers. Elevate or push gentl the handgrips with both hands and
adjust to the suitable position, then release the hands to stop the backrest till the suitable angle.
Safety recommendations
1. The maximum capacit for wheelchair is for 120kg. Users over 120kg, please use carefull or
contact the manufacturer to purchase customized product.
2. For self propel wheelchairs, the user should maintain an uniform speed. The recommended speed
for self propel use is at 3-5Km/h.
3. The wheelchair is recommended to be used on flat ground. If an obstacle appears, please detour to
avoid an danger of topple and fall.
4. While using the wheelchair, the user should not stand on the footrest as this act will cause danger of
topple and fall.
5. The user must assure to have good bod condition before using the wheelchair on sloping ground.
The angle of the sloping ground should be no more than 10 degrees for safet considerations. If the angle
of the sloping ground is over than 10 degrees, there must be an attendant to assist the user to push the
wheelchair at the back.
6. Do not tilt or swerve while the wheelchair is being used on sloping ground. Using brakes abruptl
when going downhill is not recommended as this will cause danger of topple and fall to the front.
Maintenance
To keep the wheelchair in its best condition, please proceed with the following maintenance:
1. Before using the wheelchair and during the first month of use, check all the screws if the are
tightened. If an loosen situation appears, please tighten immediatel to assure the safet of the user.
Under normal use, please proceed with routine inspection ever 3 months to assure all the parts are in

the brake s stem). If an loosen situation occurs, please adjust and tightened in time.
2. The wheelchair must be dried after using if it gets wet in rain da s. Under normal use, the
wheelchair must be cleaned often with soft cloth and applied the anti-rust wax to maintain the good
condition of this product.
3. Maintain the frame clean and dr under dr and ventilated place to avoid an rust on the parts.
4. Check often the agilit of rotating parts and add little lubricants regularl .
5. Avoid an oil or acid contacts with the wheels to prevent deterioration and maintain the adequate tire
pressure (when using pneumatic tires).
Warranty information
Our compan provides the following qualit warrant of the wheelchair under normal use:
1. Purchasing the wheelchair from our compan , from the date of purchase within one ear and under
normal use of the product, if qualit damage occurs, our compan provides free service for repair. After the
ear of warrant , our compan can still provide free service for repair, though the user will be requested to
