
MENU BAR FUNCTIONS
KEY LOCK
•Key lock is a functionality intended to lock the display while the cooktop is in operation.
•This is useful for cleaning purposes.
•To activate touch the Key Lock icon in the menu bar.
•The display screen except the Key Lock icon and the ON/OFF key are locked.
•To de-activate this function touch the Key Lock icon for 3 seconds.
STAND ALONE TIMER
•Stand-alone timer has the performance of an egg timer.
•It can be adjusted within a range of 1 min to 9 h 59 min.
•After the adjusted time has run out, a signal tone is emitted.
•Stand-alone timer has no impact on any cooking zone.
•To activate this function touch the Hoursglass icon in the menu bar.
•Adjust the numbers for the timer on the hours and minute wheels.
•Confirm the setting with the tick icon.
•If the timer expires a signal tone is emitted and the timer numbers are highlighted and flashing.
•Confirm the timer by touching the flashing timer values.
•The signal tone stops, and the hourglass icon is displayed again.

4.2.12 Pot Lifting
If a pot is lifted by the user, the induction keeps the pot information for approx. 20 seconds. During that time
the user can replace the pot and all pot settings are reset automatically.
Lift pot
Pot is displayed as lifted. Pot information remains in the display for approx. 20 seconds
Active pot timer is paused
Replace pot on the cooktop
All pot settings are reset automatically
Notes If the pot is not replaced on the cooktop within 20 seconds, the pot display is removed.
If a new pot is placed in area of a lifted pot, this pot is deleted.

4.2.2 Switching ON and OFF
Precondition
The cooktop is in standby mode, i. e., it is connected to the power supply voltage and the self-test has been
performed successfully.
Touch the ON/OFF SmartKii.
The cooktop is turned on.
No logo is implemented in the E.G.O. standard variant. A customer brand logo can be displayed optionally.
Main screen for cooking is displayed
Touch the ON/OFF SmartKii.
The cooktop will go to standby mode. A running stand-alone timer will continue with its count down;
the residual heat indication is displayed. The real time clock is displayed for additional 15 seconds.
ON/OFF activities are accentuated by corresponding acoustic signals.
The cooktop switches OFF automatically after 20 s if all cooking levels are set to 0 and no operation is
performed by the user. A running egg timer will continue with its count down; the residual heat will also be
indicated.
Note For safety reasons, switching OFF the cooktop by the ON/OFF SmartKii is always possible.

4.2.6 Shortcut switch OFF pot
To be able to switch off a pot really fast the user can double tab on the required pot. The power level is
immediately switched to power level 0.
Double tap on pot icon
Pot is selected and is then switched OFF.
4.2.7 Power level slider
The slider provides a convenient way of setting the power level.
Generally, two selection modes are possible:
Direct Selection:
The selection is done by touching directly on the desired cooking level number.
Sliding:
The selection is done by wiping with the finger from the left side to the right or vice versa.
The power level slider is visible if a pot is in selection mode.

4.4.1 Key lock
Key lock is a functionality intended to lock the keys during the cooktop is in operation or in pause state. This
is useful for cleaning purposes (as the touch control is unable to differentiate a wet fabric from a finger).

Cooktop is switched ON, no pot is selected

Select the “X” icon in the top right corner to close the info message
Move the pot to a corner of the cooktop to get more coil coverage
The info box disappears 10 seconds after opening (except for the scenario conflict).
