<About installing the I/O card>
Normally, Fostex Dealer or Distributor will install this card in
the D-108, D-160 Ver2.0, D824 or D1624. Therefore, please
request the Dealer or Distributor of purchase to do the
installation.

The Fostex Model 5040 and 5042 are a balanced 8-8 I/O card that was developed exclusively as an optional unit for the
Model D-108 and D824 Digital Multitrack Recorder. By installing this optional card in the D-108 or D824, it can then
be directly connected to external equipment provided with a balanced I/O (XLR) connector.
The Fostex Model 5041 and 5043 are a balanced 8-16 I/O card that was developed exclusively as an optional unit for
the Model D-160 Ver2.0 and D1624 Digital Multitrack Recorder. By installing this optional card in the D-160 Ver2.0 or
D1624, it can then be directly connected to external equipment provided with a balanced I/O (XLR) connector.
<NOTICE>
When this optional card is installed in a D-108, D824, D-160 Ver2.0 or D1624, the unbalanced I/O connector and the balanced I/O
connector will be internally wired in parallel.
Therefore, the balanced and unbalanced inputs to the D-108, D824, D-160 Ver2.0 and D1624 will be mixed and the mixed and the
balanced and unbalanced outputs will output in parallel.

Model 5040/5042は、デジタル・マルチトラック・レコーダModel D-108およびD824専用のオプションとして開発された、バランス8-
8 I/Oカードです。このオプション・カードをD-108またはD824に搭載することで、バランスI/O（XLRコネクタ）を装備している外部
機器と直接接続できるようになります。
Model 5041/5043は、デジタル・マルチトラック・レコーダModel D-160 Ver2.0およびD1624専用のオプションとして開発された、バ
ランス8-16 I/Oカードです。このオプション・カードをD-160 Ver2.0またはD1624に搭載することで、バランスI/O（XLRコネクタ）
を装備している外部機器と直接接続できるようになります。
＜ご注意＞
オプション・カードをデジタル・マルチトラック・レコーダに搭載することで、レコーダ本体に標準装備されているアンバ
ランスI/OコネクタとオプションのバランスI/Oコネクタは、内部的にパラレルで接続されます。
したがって、レコーダのインプットはバランス入力とアンバランス入力がミックスして入力され、アウトプットはバランス
出力、およびアンバランス出力がパラレルで出力されます。
