2014 – Current Silverado/Sierra Bench Seat Models
Qi Wireless Charging Kit (Kit # FDMC-1270)
Please read thoroughly before starting installation and check that kit contents are complete.
Items Included in the Kit: Tools & Supplies Needed:
Qi Wireless Charging Module with
Silverado/Sierra Specific Substrate and Mat
Power Harness with 3 amp Fuse
4 – Flat Head Torx 1/2" Screws
These Instructions with Template
Removable Consumer Product Label
Plastic Trim Removal Tool
T-10 Torx Driver
Phillips Screw Driver
Center Punch/Scribe Tool
Power Drill
3/16” and 1/2” Drill Bits
Soldering Iron & Solder (Recommended)
Tape or Heat Shrink Electrical Tubing

Safety Precautions:
•Work in well ventilated area that is clear of obstructions.
•Secure vehicle with tire chucks in both front and rear of tires.
•Turn vehicle accessories OFF and ensure ignition key is in OFF position.
•Wear safety goggles and snug fitting clothes.
•Use tools only for their intended purpose and which are in good repair.
•Only perform this task if confidence, skill, and physical ability permit.
NOTE: We strive to provide accurate and up-to-date installation instructions.

IMPORTANT: Do not place smart keys
within 15cm of charging mat. Vehicle
may not detect key to start vehicle. Do
not place metal objects in tray while
charging.


Step 1: Using a Trim Removal Tool remove
upper armrest cover.
Step 2: Using a Phillips Screw Driver remove
(4) screws to remove upper armrest tray.
Step 3: Cut out provided template, mark the
locations for (4) 3/16” and (1) 5/16” hole.
Step 4: Drill the (4) 3/16” holes.
Step 5: Drill the (1) 1/2” holes.
Step 6: Route connector of Charging Module
through ½” hole and place module in tray.


Step 7: Align the (4) 3/16” holes with
mounting holes on module and insert the (4)
3/8” Pan Head T-20 Torx Screws through
tray into module.
Step 8: Cut out provided armrest lid
template, mark the locations for (1) 1/2”
hole.
Step 9: Drill the (1) 1/2” hole in lid.
Step 10: Reassemble armrest tray with
Charging Module in armrest lid and route
harness through ½” hole of lid.
Step 11: Remove rubber cup holder liner.
Step 12: Using Phillips Screw Driver remove
(2) screws in cup holder and remove.


Step 13: Using Phillips Screw Driver remove
screws in armrest bin.
Step 14: Remove armrest bin.
Step 15: Disconnect power point.
Step 16: Splice Red wire of Power Harness to
the Red (12v ignition) wire of the keyed
accessory power point plug and Splice Black
wire of Power Harness to the Black (ground)
wire of the power point plug
RECOMMENDED: Solder wires and cover with Heat
Shrink Tubing.
Step 17: Route Power Harness to rear of
console.


Step 18: Drill ½” hole on passenger side of
armrest bin 4 ½” down and route Power
Harness through.
Step 19: Connect Power Harness to Charging
Module.
Step 21: Test system. LED light will
illuminate Blue once accessories are on.
Once Qi equipped device is placed on
Freedom Charge LED will illuminate Green
and charging begins. *Please note on some
devices syncing may take up to 15 seconds. Coil
locations vary on various devices; move device on
mat until LED illuminates green.
Step 22: Reassemble vehicle. Follow your
disassembly steps in reverse order, taking care not
to bind the harness wiring when reinstalling trim.
Step 23: Place removable consumer product
label on center of mat.

1.
The
fuse
holder/Add-a-circuit
is
an
ATM
style
fuse.
Check
the
fuse
box
of
the
vehicle
to
see
if
it
has
the
same
style
fuses.
2.
If
you
have
different
style
fuses,
follow the instructions
provided
in
this kit for
power
connections
in
the
vehicle.
3.
If
you
have
the
same
style
fuses,
use
a computer
safe
test light or Digital voltmeter to find a
fuse
that
is
accessory
power.
(The fuse willchange from ground when the keyis off,
to
12
volts
when the keyis turnedon).
4.
Remove
the
fuse
and
place
into the
open
spot
on
the
Add-a-circuit.
5.
Insert
the
Add-a-circuit
in
to the
fuse
box
where the
fuse
was
just
removed
from.
6.
Connect
the black wire
of
the
Freedom
Charge
module
to a
clean
solid
ground.
