Before use: To access the FREELOADER SiXER’s connection arms,
remove the impact and water resistant gel case.

Understanding the FREELOADER SiXER LCD Screen
Press power button (7) to illuminate screen.
The icon indicates the amount of charge
remaining in the battery (see Fig 2) quantified by:
•Nobars=nopower •3bars=60%to80%
•1bar=10%to40% •4bars=80%to100%
•2bars=40%to60%
The icon indicates a charge via the USB port (A).
The icon (B) indicates an incoming charge from
the internal solar cell.
The icon (C) indicates an incoming charge from the ‘Supercharger’
(The Supercharger 5w booster solar panel is sold separately, for more details on
FREELOADER SiXER accessories visit www.solartechnology.co.uk).
The FREELOADER SiXER is supplied with some
charge in its battery, we recommend charging
the battery fully by the USB port before use.
Thereafter, and to maintain the battery condition
we recommend you charge the FREELOADER SiXER
once every three months by the USB port.
Allow up to 12 hours to fully charge the battery in both these instances.

Charging the FREELOADER SiXER
from a USB device
The ‘USB device’ could be eg. a
home computer, laptop, USB mains
or USB car plug.
Plug one end of the ‘charging cable’
provided into your own ‘USB device’, the other
end fits into the Micro USB charging port (5) (see Fig 1 and 3).
The LCD screen (2) (see Fig 2) indicates the level of battery charge. The icon will
appear and the icon will stop flashing once charging is complete. The FREELOADER
SiXER can then be disconnected from the charging cable and is ready for use.
We do not recommend leaving the FREELOADER SiXER on constant charge via USB.
Additionally do not simultaneously charge your FREELOADER SiXER by USB and use it to
power a device.
Charging the FREELOADER SiXER from the sun
Charge time from empty to full via the Sixer’s internal solar cell and in sunny conditions
willtakeupto28hours,howeverresidualchargeinthebatteryreducesthistime.If
faster charging time is needed, adding the Supercharger booster solar cell accessory
willreducethistimetounder7to8hours(seepage3formoredetails).
By facing the FREELOADER SiXER solar cell (1) towards the sun, battery charging will
automatically begin. An icon on the LCD screen (2) will indicate charging is initiated.
When the user is stationary, a built in support stand allows tilting to maximize charge
efficiency from the sun. Alternatively when charging ‘on the go’is required, a Velcro
attachment strap enables the FREELOADER SiXER to be attached in an open and skyward
facing position to the shoulder strap of a rucksack, top of a sled or onto the handlebars
of a bike for example.
Press power button (7) to illuminate screen. The icon indicates the amount
of charge remaining in the battery (see Fig 2) quantified by: Pressing the power
button (7) (see Fig 1) will display the battery charge level.
Chargingtimefromthesunisupto28hoursforafullcharge.
However, residual charge in the battery reduces this time significantly.
Powering and/or charging up your device(s)
(phone, tablet, camera etc)
The FREELOADER SiXER has two integrated charging arms
(3) and (4), this enables simultaneous charging of two devices.
Integratedchargingarm(2)(Fig4)includesalightning
connectorforAppledevices.Integratedchargingarm(1)(Fig4)
includes a Micro USB connection. This general charging connector
is compatible with most smartphones.

When one or both charging arms are connected to a device or devices, pressing the
blue power button (7) will initiate charging. Charging will continue until the device(s)
are fully charged, or the FREELOADER SiXER battery is low on power, this is indicated by
the icon on the LCD screen. Charging will not resume until the FREELOADER SiXER
battery pack has been charged.
The female USB port (6) allows charging of devices that require their own cable*.
This is the best way of charging any older Apple devices that use the 30 pin connector
or non micro USB phones / devices.

Please note: The power output of the FREELOADER SiXER is 2.1 amp. Your device is
not compatible if it requires a higher current.
Charging the FREELOADER SiXER from the Supercharger
(sold separately) Part FL6002
Using the blue cable supplied with the Supercharger, connect it to the power in socket
of the FREELOADER SiXER.
The icon is displayed on the FREELOADER SiXER LCD screen (2).
The additional charge supplied by the Supercharger
will reduce the average time to replenish the
batterybysolarto7to8hours.
Where both the FREELOADER
SiXER and Supercharger are
exposed to sunlight, the charging
time reduces to less than 6 hours.
Both the solar cell on the FREELOADER SiXER and Supercharger solar panel can be used
to charge the battery pack simultaneously, or the Supercharger panel can be used
alone.Itsattachmentstrapsallowittobesecuredtoabackpack,bicyclepanniers,and
sled etc for maximum daylight exposure.
Warning
1. Keep FREELOADER SiXER away from fire and do not submerge the unit in water.
2. Severe shock or impact* may result in damage and will invalidate the warranty.
*the gel case provides the FREELOADER SiXER resistance from impact up to 1m.
3. Do not dismantle the FREELOADER SiXER, any sign of tampering will invalidate the
warranty.

Warranty
The FREELOADER SiXER is supplied with a 24-month warranty, this excludes the battery.
ShouldafailureoccurduringthistimeSolarTechnologyInternationalLtdwillrepairor
replace any faulty part, at its discretion.
ReturnedproductsshouldbereturnedtoSolarTechnologyInternationalLtdinthe
original packaging where available or packaged appropriately.
SolarTechnologyInternationalLtdwillnotacceptliabilityforanythirdpartydamage
regardless of cause or any costs associated with the return of faulty products.

Care
To keep the FREELOADER SiXER clean of dust and dirt wipe down regularly with a damp
microfibre cloth.
Removing the battery & battery disposal
PLEASE NOTE any attempt to remove the integrated battery from the FREELOADER
SiXER will invalidate the warranty.
To dispose of the FREELOADER SiXER the battery must be removed and disposed of
separately. For instructions on how to remove the battery safely please contact us on
[phone] or [e-mail].
Please contact your local authority for details on how and where to dispose of a lithium
ion polymer battery.

Frequently Asked Questions
1. My FREELOADER SiXER has been outside in the sun but when I connect it to my
device, it only charges for a short time and did not deliver much power?
• EnsurethefirstchargeisgivenbytheUSBcableconnectedtoaPCorlaptop,
this can take up to 12 hours.
• EnsuretheFREELOADER SiXER is exposed to sunny conditions, preferably
outdoors for between five to ten hours. To maximize charge efficiency turn the
solar cell to face south, in an un-shaded position and preferably tilted (you can
use the integrated stand).
• EnsuretheFREELOADER SiXER is not connected to a device that has a near full
battery- power is not always delivered to a device that has more or equal power
in its battery to the FREELOADER SiXER.
2. It’s taking forever to charge my FREELOADER SiXER. Why?
• EnsuretheFREELOADER SiXER is not positioned behind a window, even if the
FREELOADER SiXER is facing south in full sun, it will take up to three times as long
to charge. Most glass incorporates UV filters that naturally reduce the amount of
irradiation needed by solar panels to operate effectively.
• Ensureconditionsaren’tcloudy.FREELOADER SiXER can take approximately one
and a half times longer to charge, depending on the number of daylight hours
and density of cloud cover.
3. My FREELOADER SiXER’s LCD panel shows it has some charge but it won’t deliver
it to my device?.
• EnsuretheLCDpanelisilluminatedthisindicatesthatthechargeavailablein
thebatterycanbedeliveredtoyourdevice.IftheLCDpanelisnotilluminatedit
indicates that the battery level in your device is similar to the battery level in the
FREELOADER SiXER.InthisinstanceeitherallowtheFREELOADER SiXER to charge
up or allow your device to discharge its battery charge further before connecting
the two. (see note 1).
4. Is charging my FREELOADER SiXER from its solar cell behind glass feasible?
• Wedonotrecommendchargingbehindglass,theUVfiltersinmostglasscan
slow solar charging which can take as long as three times. Avoid leaving the
FREELOADER SiXER exposed to the sun in a vehicle for long periods as the heat
can be too intense, this can result in the LCD screen going blank, if this happens
wait until the unit cools and the screen will recover.
5. How do I connect FREELOADER SiXER to my device as I don’t seem to have a
connector that fits?
• Toconnectadevicewherenoconnectiontipissuppliedpleaseusetheoriginal
sync cable (the cable you use for connecting to a PC) and insert the USB end
into FREELOADER SiXER USB Power Out socket. Then connect to your device in
the normal way.

6. I have a device that can be charged via my computer’s USB port. Can the
FREELOADER SiXER charge it?
• Yes,theFREELOADER SiXER should be able to charge it.
7. Are there any devices that FREELOADER SiXER cannot power?
• FREELOADER SiXER has a voltage range of 3v to 5.5v, so any device that needs a
higher voltage is outside its scope.
• Digitalcameraswherethe‘blockstyle’batteryofthecameraneedstobe
removed and inserted into a cradle to charge can only be powered by
FREELOADER SiXER if the optional CamCaddy2 accessory is purchased, visit

Special Note for Apple Device Users
Before connecting your Sixer to an Apple device, please ensure the
port charging of the Apple device is clear from fluff and dust. This can
be done using a cocktail stick, plastic pocket clip of a Biro or any thin
none metallic rod and the fluff can be hooked out of the port – give the
port a good blow afterwards. The Apple device is now ready to be charged.
‘Made for iPod,’ ‘Made for iPhone,’ and ‘Made for iPad’ mean that an
electronic accessory has been designed to connect specifically to iPod,

Chargement de le Sixer à partir d’un périphérique USB
Ce chargement peut s’effectuer par votre
ordinateur de bureau personnel, votre
ordinateur portable, ou par un adaptateur
secteur USB ou d’un chargeur USB pour
voiture. La plupart des téléphones mobiles
modernes sont désormais équipés d’un
adaptateur secteur USB permettant de recharger
l’appareil. Cet adaptateur est idéal pour recharger le Sixer.
IlsuffitdebrancherlecâbledechargementdeleSixeràvotrepériphériqueUSBet
d’insérer l’autre extrémité dans le port de charge du Freeloader Sixer (5) (voir les figures
1 et 3).
Le Sixer dispose d’un écran LCD (voir la figure 2) qui indique le niveau de charge actuel
de la batterie interne. Une fois l’appareil pleinement rechargé, l’écran affiche le
symboled’unebatteriepleineetl’icôneUSBs’arrêtedeclignoter.Vouspouvezalors
débrancher le Freeloader Sixer du « câble d’alimentation ». Votre Sixer est prêtà
l’emploi. En cas de première charge ou après une longue période de non utilisation, il
faut compter plus de 12 heures pour le charger complètement via le port USB.
NousrecommandonsdechargerleSixerdecettemanièretousles3moispour
maintenir la batterie en parfait état. Veuillez ne pas laisser le Freeloader Sixer
constamment en charge via le port USB, ni charger le Sixer via USB tout en utilisant le
Sixer pour alimenter simultanément un autre appareil.
Chargement de le Sixer à l’aide du soleil
Le rechargement solaire peut s’effectuer dans la plupart des conditions de lumière
du jour, mais l’intensité delalumièredusoleilaccélèrelavitessedechargement.Il
suffit d’exposer le panneau solaire face au soleil pour commencer le chargement du
Freeloader Sixer. Le témoin sur l’écran LCD indique la mise en charge. Un petit support
intégré au dos du Freeloader Sixer permet de placer le Sixer à un angle permettant
d’obtenir le meilleur chargement à partir du soleil.
Appuyer sur le bouton d’alimentation (7) (voir la figure 1) indique le taux de
charge actuel du Freeloader Sixer. Le temps de charge solaire peut atteindre
jusqu’à 28heuresenfonctiondutauxdechargeactuelduFreeloader.
Alimentation et/ou rechargement de votre appareil

Le Freeloader Sixer compte deux « bras » intégrés à
l’unitéprincipale.Ilspermettenttousdeuxdecharger
desappareilsenmême temps.
Premier bras (figure 4) est doté d’un connecteur ‘Lightning’
compatible avec les appareils Apple utilisant ce nouveau type
deconnecteur.Ilsuffitdelebranchercommevousleferiez
normalement lorsque vous rechargez votre appareil. Ensuite,
appuyez sur le bouton d’alimentation bleu pour commencer
à charger l’appareil.
