For the installer
When sed as an extractor nit, the hood m st
be fitted with a 120mm diameter hose.
When installing the hood, make sure you
respect the following minimum distance
from the top edge of the cooking hob/ring
surfaces:
electric cookers 500 mm
gas cookers 650 mm
coal and oil cookers 800 mm min.
The national Standard on f el-b rning systems
specifies a maxim m depression of 0.04 mbar
in s ch rooms.
The air o tlet m st not be connected to
chimney fl es or comb stion gas d cts. The air
o tlet m st nder no circ mstances be
connected to ventilation d cts for rooms in
which f el-b rning appliances are installed.
The air o tlet installation m st comply with the
reg lations laid down by the relevant
a thorities.
When the nit is sed in its extractor version, a
s fficiently large ventilation hole m st be
provided, with dimensions that are approxi-
mately the same as the o tlet hole.
National and regional b ilding reg lations
impose a n mber of restrictions on sing hoods
and f el-b rning appliances connected to a
chimney, s ch as coal or oil room-heaters and
gas fires, in the same room.
Hoods can only be sed safely with appliances
connected to a chimney if the room and/or flat
(air/environment combination) is ventilated
from o tside sing a s itable ventilation hole
approximately 500-600 cm2 large to avoid the
possibility of a depression being created d ring
operation of the hood.
If yo have any do bts, contact the relevant
controlling a thority or b ilding inspectors
office.
Since the r le for rooms with f el b rning
appliances is o tlet hole of the same size as
the ventilation hole, a hole of 500-600 cm2,
which is to say a larger hole, co ld red ce the
performance of the extractor hood.
If the hood is sed in its filtering f nction, it
will operate simply and safely in the above
conditions witho t the need for any of the
aforementioned meas res.
When the hood is sed in its extractor f nction,
the following r les m st be followed to obtain
optimal operation:
short and straight o tlet hose
keep bends in o tlet hose to a minim m
never install the hoses with an ac te angle,
they m st always follow a gentle c rve.
keep the hose as large as possible
(preferably the same diameter as the
o tlet hole).
Fail re to observe these basic instr ctions will
drastically red ce the performance and increase
the noise levels of the extractor hood.
For the user
he cooker hood is designed to extract
unpleasant odours from the kitchen, it will
not extract steam.
Always cover heating elements, to prevent
excessive heat from damaging the appliance. In
the case of oil, gas and coal fired cookers it is
essential to avoid open flames.
Also, when frying, keep the deep frying pan on
the cooker top/cooker nder caref l control.
The hot oil in the frying pan might ignite d e to
overheating.
The risk of self-ignition increases when the oil
being sed is dirty.
It is extremely important to note that
overheating can ca se a fire.
Never carry out any flambé cooking under
the hood.
Always disconnect the unit from the power
supply before carrying out any work on the
hood, including replacing the light bulb (take
the cartridge f se o t of the f se holder or
switch off the a tomatic circ it breaker).
It is very important to clean the hood and
replace the filter at the recommended
intervals. Failure to do so could cause grease
deposits to build up, resulting in a fire
hazard.
The appliance is not intended for se by yo ng
children or infirm persons witho t s pervision.
Yo ng children sho ld be s pervised to ens re
that they do not play with the appliance.
WARNING - Ens re that the appliance is
switched off before replacing the lamp to avoid
