警告
電源プラグを
抜く
異常が起きたら電源を切り、電池を外す。
煙が出ている、異臭がするなど異常状態のまま使用すると、火災・感
電の原因になります。

内部に水や異物を落とさない。
水・異物が内部に入ったら、電源を切り、電池を外す。

運転者などに向けてフラッシュを発光しない。
事故につながる場合があります。
可燃性ガス、および揮発性ガスなどが大気中に存在する恐れがある場
所では使用しない。
電池の液が漏れて、目に入ったり、皮膚や衣服に付着したときは、失
明やけがのおそれがあるので、ただちにきれいな水で洗い流し、すぐ
に医師の治療を受ける。
電池を廃棄する場合や保存する場合には、端子部にセロハンテープな
どの絶縁テープをはる。
•他の金属や電池と混じると発火、破裂の原因になります。
油煙、湯気、湿気、ほこりなどが多い場所に置かない。
火災・感電の原因になることがあります。
異常な高温になる場所に置かない。
電池を直射日光や火などの高温にさらさない。
窓を閉めきった自動車の中や、直射日光が当たる場所に置かないでく

す。特に乳幼児を撮影するときは気をつけてください。
定期的な内部点検・清掃を依頼する。
本製品の内部にほこりがたまり、火災や故障の原因になることがあります。
•2 年に 1 度くらいは、内部清掃をお買上げ店にご依頼ください。
ベンジン、シンナー、アルコールなどで拭かない。

電池についてのご注意
※ ご使用になるフラッシュの電池の種類をお確かめの上お読みください。
電池を上手に長くお使いいただくため、下記をお読みください。使い方を誤ると、
電池の寿命が短くなるばかりか、液漏れ、発熱・発火の恐れがあります。
■取扱い上のご注意
• 火中に投入したり、加熱したりしないでください。
• プラス極とマイナス極を針金などの金属で接続したり、ネックレスやヘアピ
ンなどの金属類と一緒に持ち運んだり保管しないでください。
• 液漏れしている、変形、変色、その他異常に気づいたときは使用しないでくだ
さい。
• 新しい電池と使用した電池（充電式電池の場合：充電済みの電池と、放電した
電池）、あるいは種類やメーカーの異なる電池を混ぜて使用しないでください。
• 長い間使用しないときは、電池を取り出しておいてください（電池を取り外
して放置した場合、各種設定がクリアされます）。
• 使用直後の電池は高温になることがあります。電池の取り外しはフラッシュ
の電源を切り、電池の温度が下がるのを待ってから行ってください。
• 寒冷地（＋ 10℃以下）では電池の性能が低下し、使用可能時間が極端に短
くなります。特にアルカリ乾電池はこの傾向がありますので、電池をポケッ
トの中などで温めてからお使いください。また、カイロをお使いの場合は直
接電池に触れないようにご注意ください。
• 電池の電極に皮脂などの汚れがあると発光回数が極端に少なくなることがあ
ります。電池をセットする前に電極を乾いた柔らかい布で丁寧に清掃してく
ださい。

■単 3 形ニッケル水素電池を正しくお使いいただくためのご注意
• お買上げ時や長い間使用しなかったニッケル水素電池は「不活性」状態になっ
ている可能性があります。また、まだ十分に使用できる状態で充電を繰り返
すと「メモリー効果」が生じる可能性があります。｢不活性」状態や「メモリー
効果」が発生したニッケル水素電池では、充電後の使用可能時間が短くなる
症状が出てきます。 ｢不活性」や「メモリー効果」はニッケル水素電池固有のも
ので、故障ではありません。
• ニッケル水素電池用充電器は、ニッケル水素電池 HR-AA 専用です。乾電池
や他の充電式電池を充電すると、液漏れ、発熱、破裂の原因になります。
• ニッケル水素電池の充電は、専用の充電器を使用し、充電器の「使用説明書」
の指示に従って正しく行ってください。
• 充電器では、指定外の電池を充電しないでください。
• 充電直後の電池は高温になっていることがありますので、ご注意ください。
• ニッケル水素電池は使わなくても自然放電しており、使用可能時間が短くな
ることがあります。
• ニッケル水素電池にも寿命があります。放電と充電を繰り返しても使用可能
時間が短い場合は、寿命の可能性があります。
■電池の廃棄について
• 電池を捨てるときは、地域の条例に従って処分してください。
■小形充電式電池のリサイクルについて
小形充電式電池はリサイクル可能な貴重な資源です。ご使用済み
の電池は、端子を絶縁するためにセロハンテープなどをはるか、個
別にポリ袋に入れて最寄りのリサイクル協力店にある充電式電池
回収 BOX に入 れてください。 詳 細は、「一般社団法人 JBRC」

使用上のご注意
■避けて欲しい保存場所
次のような場所での本製品の使用・保管は避けてください。
• 雨天下、湿気やゴミ、ほこりの多いところ
• 直射日光の当たるところや夏場の密閉した自動車内など、高温になるところ
• 極端に寒いところ
• 振動の激しいところ
• 油煙や湯気の当たるところ
• 強い電磁場の発生するところ（放送塔、送電線、レーダー、モーター、トラ
ンス、磁石のそばなど）
• 防虫剤などの薬品やゴム、ビニール製品に長時間接触するところ
■冠水、浸水、砂かぶりにご注意
水や砂は本製品の大敵です。海辺、水辺などでは、水や砂がかからないようにし
てください。また、水でぬれた場所の上に、本製品を置かないでください。水や
砂が本製品の内部に入りますと、故障の原因になるばかりか、修理できなくなるこ
ともあります。
■結露（つゆつき）にご注意
本製品を寒いところから急に暖かいところに持ち込んだときなどに、本製品内外部や
レンズなどに水滴がつくこと（結露）があります。このようなときは電源を切り、水
滴がなくなってからお使いください。

この度は、富士フイルムフラッシュ「EF-20」をお買上げいただきまし
て、ありがとうございます。この使用説明書をよくお読みの上、正しい
扱い方で、ご愛用くださいますようお願いします。
EF-20 について
★EF-20 は富士フイルム社製デジタルカメラ専用のフラッシュです。
★カメラに装着してスイッチを ON にするだけで、高精度調光を自動的
に行いますので、正確で最適な発光をします。
★被写体の位置やバウンスを用いたことで光量が不足したり、また逆に
多すぎたりした場合には、EV アジャストボタンにより光量の増減が
簡単に出来ます。
★上方 90 度までの範囲で自由にバウンスができます。
★EF-20 は小型軽量に設計されています。装着時に自由度の高いカメラ
ワークを実現するだけではなく、特に収納時にはホットシュー部分を
格納できますので胸ポケットに入れて持ち運びができます。
■使用にあたっては
●本機をカメラに装着してからは必ずカメラのボディを保持するようにし
て下さい。フラッシュを持っての持ち運びはカメラがホットシューから
脱落することがあります。
●使用可能なカメラについては富士フイルムホームページ（http://
fujifilm.jp/personal/digitalcamera/index.html）にてご確認下さい。

最初に電池を入れましょう
①電池カバーロック解除ボタンを手前に
引き、電池カバーを開けます。
②新しいアルカリ及びニッケル水素の単
3 形電池 2 本を電池室内の＋−に従っ
て電池挿入部に入れてください。
 電池の配列を間違えると故障の原因に
なりますので、ご注意ください。
③電池を入れ終わりましたら電池カバー
をパチンと音がするところまでしっか
り閉めます。
 電源スイッチを押すとピーという発信
音と共にチャージが始まり、充電完了
と同時にレディランプが点滅します。
この状態で撮影準備完了です。（充電
が終了するとレディランプが点滅から
点灯に変わります。）
④電源を切るときは電源スイッチを押し
ます。レディランプが消えて発光しな
くなります。
※カメラに取り付ける前に、電源スイッ
チを「ON」にした状態でホットシューの端子同士をショートさせな
いようご注意ください。端子同士の接触により、突然発光したり、故
障の原因になることがあります。
※充電時間の短縮及び発光回数の増加のために、ニッケル水素電池のご
使用をお薦めします。
レディランプ、ちょっとご注意
レディランプの点滅直後は発光量のパワーが不十分な場合があります。
最適光量の写真を得るためにはレディランプ点滅後、数秒間お待ちに
なってからシャッターを切ってください。
※レディランプの点滅に 30 秒以上かかるときは、電池が消耗していま
すので新しい電池に交換してください。
カメラに取付けてみましょう
EF-20 をカメラに取り付けるとき（または外すとき）は、電源スイッチ
を必ず OFF にしてください。電源スイッチを ON のまま取り付ける（外
す）と、フラッシュが誤動作したり、カメラに故障が起こる場合があり
ます。
①フラッシュをカメラのホットシューにしっかり差し込み、ロックリン
グを左に回してフラッシュを固定してください。
②カメラと EF-20 の電源を入れるとシャッタースピードは自動的にセッ
トされます。
さあ、これでフラッシュ撮影の準備ができました。
テスト発光がしたい
レディランプ点灯後、このテストボタンを押すとテス
ト発光ができます。発光を確認したいときなどにご利
用ください。

TTL 有効範囲について
被写体が TTL 有効範囲内にある
ときは、発光と同時にセットした
EV 補正ランプが約 3 秒間点滅し
ます。このランプが点滅しない場合は、被写体にもっと近づくか、絞り
を開けて（数値の小さい方へ）撮影してください。また、ISO 感度をさ
らに高感度側（数値の大きい方へ）に変えてみることも有効な手段です。
※レディランプの点滅直後に発光させると TTL 有効範囲が短くなりま
すので、ご注意ください。
画像が明るすぎたり暗すぎたりしたときは
EF-20 は、微妙な光量の調整が出来る EV 補正ボタン
が装備されています。次のような場合には、EV 補正ボ
タンを使って、満足の行くような明るさになるよう自
由に調整して充分な効果を上げてください。
★デイライトシンクロ（日中、屋外でフラッシュ光を補助光として使用
し、太陽光で被写体にできる影を和らげるために使う）や逆光時の撮
影で、充分な光量が得られなかったとき。
★明るさを変えた画像を撮影をしたいとき。
★バウンスを利用する際に光量が不足気味になったとき。
通常の TTL オート撮影（EV 補正ランプが点滅している状態）で撮った
画像をモニターで確認します。そのとき、もし、明るさ・暗さに問題が
あるような場合には EV 補正ボタンで、光量の調整をして再度、撮り直
してください。画像がイメージしたものより、暗く写っている場合には
EV 補正ボタンを押して＋側へ１段進めます。すると「＋ 0.5」の赤色
LED ランプが点滅します。この状態では、0.5EV 分だけ光の強さを上
げて発光します。撮影の後、再度モニターで確認し、まだ不足でしたら
もう 1 度ボタンを押して「＋ 1」にセットして撮り直します。また、逆
に画像が明るすぎる場合も調整が可能です。この場合は、ボタンを順番
に押していき「−」側のランプが点灯するところまで押し続けます。そ
して、イメージ通りの画像が得られる光量にまで調整していきます。
EV 補正ランプが点滅していない状況（TTL オート調光が作動していな
い）で撮影した場合には、この EV 補正ボタンの操作は無効となってし
まいます。必ず、EV 補正ランプが点滅していることを確認してから EV
補正ボタンをご使用ください。
EV 補正機能を終了したい場合は、再度 EV 補正ボタンを押して「０」
の位置に戻すか、電源スイッチを一度切ってから入れ直すと EV 補正機
能を解除することができます。
バウンス撮影をしてみましょう
EF-20 は、発光部の角度を上に向けることで上方にバウンスすること
ができます。フラッシュの発光部を直接被写体に向けて撮影すると、撮
影条件によっては被写体の背後に強い影が生じ不自然な写真になります
が、発光部を天井に向けることにより、ソフトで自然な感じの影になり
美しい写真を撮影することができます。
バウンス撮影をする場合は、反射をさせる天井（壁）面の距離によって
は光量が足りなくなる場合がありますので、その場合は EV 補正ボタン
でプラス側に補正してお使いください。
被写体に AF フレームを合わせ、シャッターを半押しします。ファインダー内
の「N」マークの点灯とシャッター速度及び絞り値の確認をして撮影します。

※ 発光部を 90 度以上に無理に曲げると
故障の原因になりますので、ご注意く
ださい。
※ バウンス撮影は、発光部を天井に向けて
セットするだけで通常撮影と同じ方法で
行えます。ただし、反射面の色や素材に
よりますが、光量が約 25％程度に低下
します。このため、なるべく開放に近い
絞り値（数値の少ない方）の設定をお勧
めします。バウンスさせる反射面はなるべく白色に近い反射率の高い面を
選んでください。特にカラー撮影の場合、反射面に色彩がありますと色反
射に変わり被写体がその色に着色されてしまいますのでご注意ください。
※EF-20 のバウンス機能は上方だけではなく、下方にも若干向けられま
すので、近接撮影の際にも便利にお使いいただけます。ただし、レン
ズフードなどを装着したままですとケラれたりする事がありますので
ご注意ください。
ワイドパネルの使い方
EF-20 にはワイドパネルが装着されて
います。通常は焦点距離が 32 ミリまで
のレンズをカバーしていますが、それ以
上の広角レンズでご使用の際は、ワイド
パネルをご活用ください。このパネルを
使用することにより 24 ミリまでの焦点
距離に対応することができます。使い方
は簡単です。発光部上に固定されている
白色のパネルを爪で起こして発光部レ
ンズに被せるだけです。なお、このパネ
ルを使用しますと、ガイドナンバーは
「14」まで下がりますので、その点をご
考慮願います。
連続撮影時のご注意
連続発光による加熱での劣化を防止するため、15 回ほど連続でフル発
光させたら一度止めて 10 分以上休止してください。

Do not use batteries except as specied. Load batteries as polar charac-
ters“+”and“–” indicate.
Do not heat, change or take apart the batteries. Do not drop or subject
batteries to impacts. Never attempt to charge lithium, Oxyride, or alka-
line batteries. Do not short batteries. Do not store batteries with metallic
products. Useonly the specied chargertorecharge Ni-MHBatteries. Any
of these actions can cause batteries to burst or leak and cause fire
or injury as a result.
Use only batteries specied for use with this ash. The use of other
power sources can cause a fire or product malfunction.
Do not use your ash nearby cosmetic products or drug containers. The
spoil or the ingress into flash can cause fire, electric shock, or injury.
Do not direct the ash at the operator of a motor vehicle. This can cause
a motor vehicle accident.
Do not use the ash in the presence of ammable or volatile gas.
If batteries leak and uid gets in contact with your eyes, skin or clothing,
ush the aected area with clean water and seek medical attention or call
an emergency number right away.
Indispose or long-term storageof batteries, coverbatteryterminals byin-
sulation tape. Contact with other metallic objects or batteries could
cause batteries to ignite or burst.
Do not use this ash in locations aected by oil fumes, steam, humidity or
dust. This can cause a fire or electric shock.
Battery shall not be exposed to excessive heat such as sunshine, re or the
like. Do not leave this ash in places subject to extremely high tempera-
tures. Do not leave the flash in locations such as a sealed vehicle or
in direct sunlight. This can cause a fire.
Keepout of the reachof small children. This product could cause injury
in the hands of a child.

Donot place heavy objectson the ash. This can cause the heavy object
to tip over or fall and cause injury.
Donot coveror wrap the ash or the charger in a cloth or blanket. This can
cause heat to build up and distort the casing or cause a fire.
When you are cleaning the ash or you do not plan to use the ash for an
extended period, remove batteries. Failure to do so can cause batteries
to leak fluid, a fire, or electric shock.
Using a ash too close to a person’s eyes may temporarily aect the eye-
sight or can cause a visual impairment. Take particular care when pho-
tographing infants and young children.
Request regular internal testing and cleaning for your ash. Build-up of
dust in your flash can cause a fire or electric shock. Contact your
FUJIFILM dealer to request internal cleaning every two years. Please
note that this service is not free of charge.
Do not use alcohol, thinner, benzene, or other volatile chemicals to clean
your ash. This can cause fire or electric shock.

Batteries
Note: Check the type of batteries used in your ash and read the appropriate
sections.
The following describes the proper use of batteries and how to prolong their life.
Incorrect use can shorten battery life or cause leakage, overheating, fire, or explo-
sion.
■Cautions: Handling the Batteries
• Do not expose to flame, or heat.
• Do not transport or store with metal objects such as necklaces or hairpins.
• Do not use batteries that are leaking, deformed, discolored, or with other abnor-
mal states.
• Do not mix old and new batteries, batteries with different charge levels, or bat-
teries of different types.
• If the flash will not be used for an extended period, remove the batteries. Note
that various settings of the flash will be reset.
• The batteries may be warm to the touch immediately after use. Turn the flash off
and allow the batteries to cool before handling.
• Battery capacity tends to decrease at low temperatures below 10°C (50°F). Keep
spare batteries in a pocket or other warm place and exchange as necessary. Cold
batteries may recover some of their charge when warmed.
• Fingerprints and other stains on the battery terminals can affect a number of flash
firing. Thoroughly clean the terminals with a soft, dry cloth before inserting bat-
teries in the flash.
■Rechargeable AA Ni-MH Batteries
The capacity of Ni-MH batteries may be temporarily reduced when new, after long
periods of disuse, or if they are repeatedly recharged before being fully discharged.
This is normal and does not indicate a malfunction.
The flash draws a small amount of current even when off . Ni-MH batteries that
have been left in the flash for an extended period may be drawn down to the point
that they no longer hold a charge. Batteries that no longer hold a charge even after
repeatedly being discharged and recharged have reached the end of their service
life and must be replaced.
Ni-MH batteries can be recharged in a battery charger (sold separately). Batteries
may become warm to the touch after charging. Refer to the instructions provided
with the charger for more information. Use the charger with compatible batter-
ies only.
Ni-MH batteries gradually lose their charge when not in use.
■Disposal
Dispose of used batteries in accord with local regulations.
Caring for the Flash
To ensure continued enjoyment of the product, observe the following precautions.
■Storage and Use
If the flash will not be used for an extended period, remove batteries. Do not store
or use the flash in locations that are:
• exposed to rain, steam, or smoke
• very humid or extremely dusty
• exposed to direct sunlight or very high temperatures, such as in a closed vehicle
on a sunny day
• extremely cold
• subject to strong vibration
• exposed to strong magnetic fields, such as near a broadcasting antenna, power
line, radar emitter, motor, transformer, or magnet
• in contact with volatile chemicals such as pesticides
• next to rubber or vinyl products
■Water and Sand
Exposure to water and sand can also damage the flash and its internal circuitry and
mechanisms. When using the flash at the beach or seaside, avoid exposing the
flash to water or sand. Do not place the flash on a wet surface.
■Condensation
Sudden increases in temperature, such as occur when entering a heated building
on a cold day, can cause condensation inside the flash. If this occurs, turn the flash
off and wait for droplets to evaporate.

Features and Functions of the FUJIFILM EF-20
★The position of the subject or the use of bounce lighting may make
the brightness level insucient or excessive. This unit has an EV
ADJUST button that allows you to easily increase or decrease the
brightness as required.
★Bounce lighting is possible at an upward angle of up to 90 degrees.
★The EF-20 boasts a compact, lightweight design that provides a
high degree of freedom in camera work. In addition, when the unit
is not installed on the camera, the shoe section can be rotated in-

Installing the Batteries
qSlide the battery cover release button
downward to open the battery compart-

wInsert two new “AA”-size alkaline or NiMH
batteries into the battery compartment,
ensuring that the polarity indications “+”
and “−” are aligned correctly. The unit will
not operate properly if the batteries are
installed incorrectly.
eClose the battery cover until it clicks.
Press the POWER switch to the “ON” posi-
tion. When the unit is switched on, it will
start charging with a slight humming
sound and the READY lamp starts to blink.
Now the unit is ready for shooting. (The
READY lamp stops blinking and remains
illuminated when the unit is fully charged.)
rTo switch the power o, press the POWER
switch again. The READY lamp will go o
and the unit will not ash.
* Be careful not to short-circuit the shoe
terminals while the unit is switched on
without being mounted on the camera.
Otherwise, unexpected ring or a failure
may result.
* It is recommended to use the NiMH (Nickel
Metal Hydride) batteries in order to de-
crease the charging time and increase the
ring count.
About the READY Lamp
The ring power may be insucient immediately after lighting of the READY lamp.
To obtain optimum brightness for shooting, wait a few seconds before releasing
the shutter after the READY lamp comes on.
* Replace the batteries if charging takes over 30 seconds following a test ash
performed with the EF-20 not mounted on the camera.
Mounting the Unit on the Camera
Be sure to set the POWER switch to OFF before mounting or dismounting the unit.
If the POWER switch is left ON, unexpected ashing or a malfunction of the camera
may result.
qFirmly slide the ash onto the camera’s shoe and turn the lock ring to the left to
x the ash.
wOnce the ash has been mounted on the shoe, the shutter speed will be auto-
matically set when both the ash and camera are turned on.
Now the camera is ready for ashing.

After the READY lamp lights steadily, press the TEST/READY
button to activate test ring. This allows you to conrm that
the ash res.

TTL Eective Range
When the subject is within the TTL
eective range, the selected EV ad-
justment indicator lights for about
3 seconds after ring. If the indica-
tor does not come on, approach the subject or open up the aperture (decrease
the f-number) and retry shooting. Changing the ISO speed to a higher sensitivity
(higher value) can also be helpful.
* The eective TTL range is shorter than usual immediately after the READY lamp
comes on.
If the Picture is Too Bright or Too Dark
The EF-20 has an EV ADJUST button for ne adjustment of the
brightness level.
Use this button to adjust the brightness to obtain a satisfactory
eect in the following cases.
★When satisfactory brightness cannot be obtained during
daylight sync ashing (in outdoor shooting under sunlight, the strobe light can
be used as an auxiliary light source to minimize shadows on the subject formed
by the sun) or shooting against light.
★When you want to take several pictures by varying the brightness.
★When the brightness is insucient in bounce lighting.
First, shoot a picture in standard auto mode (when the EV adjustment indicator is
lit) and check it on the monitor. If you nd that the brightness is too high or low,
press the EV ADJUST button to ne adjust the brightness and take another picture.
If the picture is darker than expected, press the EV ADJUST button once to increase
the EV by one step so that the red “+0.5” EV adjustment indicator lights up. In this
condition, the unit emits light by increasing the brightness by +0.5 EV. After shoot-
ing, check the picture on the monitor again. If the brightness is still insucient, press
the button again so that the “+1” EV adjustment indicator lights up and retry shoot-
ing.
If the picture is too bright, press the EV ADJUST button to change the lighting EV
adjustment indicator in the“–“ direction until the desired brightness is obtained.
The adjustment with the ED ADJUST button is invalid when no EV adjustment indica-
tor is lit (i.e. when the TTL auto brightness adjustment is not activated). Make sure
that one of the EV adjustment indicators is lit before pressing the EV ADJUST button.
To exit from the EV adjustment mode, press the EV ADJUST button again. Alterna-
tively, the EV adjustment mode can also be exited by pressing the POWER switch to
OFF then ON again.
Bounce Lighting
The light-emitting section of the EF-20 can be pointed upward for bounce light-
ing.
If the ash is red by pointing the light-emitting section directly at the subject, the
picture may look unnatural due to a strong shadow produced behind the subject
under certain conditions. In such a case, pointing the light-emitting section to the
ceiling may make it possible to take beautiful pictures with softer, more natural
shadows.
The brightness of bounce lighting may sometimes be insucient depending
on the distance of the ceiling (wall) surface where the light is reected. In this
case, press the EV ADJUST button to adjust the EV value in the positive direction,
position the AF frame in the viewnder on the subject and half-press the shut-
ter release button. Conrm that the “N” mark is visible in the viewnder and that
the shutter speed and f-stop are correct before fully pressing the shutter release
button.

* To prevent damage or malfunction, do not
bend the light-emitting section above 90
degrees.
* Bounce lighting is possible simply by turn-
ing the light-emitting section up toward
the ceiling. All other operations are identi-
cal to shooting with direct lighting. How-
ever, note that the brightness may drop to
about 25%, though this is variable depend-
ing on the color and material of the reect-
ing surface. It is therefore recommended to open up the aperture (to decrease
the f-number as much as possible). The surface used for bounce lighting should
be as white as possible and its reectivity as high as possible. Note that, in color
photography, if the reecting surface has a color, the colored reection will stain
the subject in that color.
Using the Wide Panel
The EF-20 has a “wide panel”attached to it.
The ash usually covers an area with a focal
length up to 32 mm, and the wide panel is for
use when the lens in use is a wide-angle lens
with a shorter focal length. Specically, the
wide panel makes the ash compatible with
a focal length up to 24 mm.
Operation is easy. All that is needed is ip up
the white panel on the lightemitting section
with a ngertip and place it on the lens of the
light-emitting section.
Note that the use of the guide panel decreas-
es the guide number to 14.
Important Note on Successive Firing
To prevent degradation due to overheating that may result from successive ring,
it is recommended to pause ring for more than 10 minutes after successive ring.
