User’s Guide
PenCentra 130 / Stylistic LT
The FMW51BC1 external battery charger allows
you to charge up to two battery packs
simultaneously.
Using the Battery Charger 0
To charge your battery pack(s) in the external
battery charger:
1. Connect an FPSI DC power source such as AC
adapter FMWAC4A, FMWAC4B, FMWAC4C
or auto adapter FMWCB2 to the DC input on
the battery charger. The Power status indicator
on the charger turns on indicating that power
is supplied to the charger.
Caution
UL Notice: FMW51BC1 External Battery Charger
PenCentra 130 Users:
Use this battery charger with
the CP021031 (FMW51BP1) battery pack only.
Stylistic LT Users:
Use this battery charger with the
3-cell battery pack CA54200-0502 (FMW29BP2) or
6-cell battery pack CA54200-0506 (FMW29BP1) only.
2. Insert the battery pack into one of the slots in the
battery charger as shown in the following figure
until the battery pack is firmly seated in the charger.
3. There are two status indicators on the battery
charger, one for each slot. The status indicators
change colors to represent different battery
conditions, as noted in Table 1.
1 Blinks at rate of one second on, one second off.
2 If the battery charger indicates a fault condition with the
battery pack, remove the battery pack, disconnect power to
the charger, and contact your local help desk or your reseller
for further assistance.

When the battery charger is not in use, disconnect
the DC power source.
Operational Considerations 0
Issues to consider when you use the FMW51BC1
battery charger are discussed as follows:
• You can insert up to two battery packs at a time
in the battery charger. When charging two
battery packs, you can insert or remove either
battery pack independently.
• The battery charger only charges one battery
pack at a time. When two battery packs are
inserted in the charger, the battery pack installed
first is charged first.
• The battery charger will indicate a full charge
level and will not begincharging the batterypack
if the battery pack charge level is 90% or higher
when the battery pack is initially inserted in the
charger. This prevents the battery pack from
being overcharged.
• When you remove the battery pack from your
pen tablet, always insert a charged battery pack
in the pen tablet to replace the one that you
removed, or apply DC power.
• The FMW51BP1, FMW29BP1, and FMW29BP2
battery packs use lithium ion battery cells which
have no “memory effect.” You do not need to
discharge or “condition” the battery pack before
charging.
Battery Pack Charge Time 0
The approximate maximum amount of time needed
to charge a fully discharged battery pack to the 90%
level is shown in the following table. Note that when
two battery packs are installed in the charger, they
are charged sequentially (starting with the battery
pack that is installed first).
Battery Pack Approximate
Charge Time
3-cell FMW51BP1 <2 hours
FMW29BP2 <2 hours
6-cell FMW29BP1 <3.5 hours
