PORTABLE PERFORMANCE
The LIFEBOOK P701 Notebook is the perfect blend of
mobility and performance featuring the 2nd generation
Intel®Core™ i5 processor; all at an affordable price.
The P701 also features a host of security and usability
features including: biometric fingerprint sensor, Trusted
Platform Module (TPM), a gesture-enabled touchpad
with scroll wheel, and an optional built-in camera
which is ideal for visually demonstrating a complicated
procedure over the web.
The LIFEBOOK P701 notebook also comes with a USB
2.0 port, which has the added functionality of Anytime
Charge so you can charge your other mobile devices
(i.e. your cell phone) by simply attaching them to
this port.
SECURITY
The LIFEBOOK P701 notebook has an integrated
biometric fingerprint sensor. With the included Softex
OmniPass software, you only need to swipe your finger
or remember a single master password to keep all of
your system log-ins and data protected. Additionally,
the LIFEBOOK P701 notebook has an embedded
Trusted Platform Module (TPM) that can store data file
passwords/keys on a microchip to help protect
your data. In a worse-case scenario, Computrace®
(service sold separately) will help track down your
stolen notebook.
Pre-Boot Authentication (PBA) is yet another security
feature at your disposal. It identifies you as the proper
user before your computer boots up, asking for a
username and password the moment you turn on the
computer. Pre-Boot Authentication is important because
it disables workarounds to computer security. Keep in
mind that password-protection can be easily bypassed
without guessing at the correct password. The PBA
feature of the LIFEBOOK P701 notebook is key to
keeping your private data private.
FLEXIBILITY
For office or home, the integrated Gigabit Ethernet
LAN provides a simple wired solution. For wireless
connectivity, Intel®Centrino®Advanced-N 6200
(802.11 a/b/g/n) or Atheros XSPAN®(802.11 b/g/n)
will keep you in touch with work, friends, and family.
The free Bluetooth upgrade is great for connecting to
other Bluetooth devices. The Intel®Wireless Display
(WiDi) lets you share the internet, presentations, or
videos on a big screen TV. (Some TVs may need an
adapter to use the function.)
The LIFEBOOK P701 notebook includes a vast array
of ports that you would typically find on a much larger
notebook computer. It comes with three USB 2.0 ports.
One of the USB 2.0 ports is also an Anytime USB
Charge port which allows you to charge an external
device with a USB charge connector even when the
notebook is turned off. Audio is well covered with
stereo headphones and microphone jacks. For displays
you have the flexibility of a standard VGA port, or
an HDMI connector for viewing DVDs on a large HD
screen. Using the Port Replicator, you will find that
the DVI-D makes an excellent high quality digital
connection (cannot be simultaneously used with the
display port). The Port Replicator also has an e-SATA
port which provides a very fast way to transfer large
files to a compatible external drive. For fast and easy
storage/ transfer of data, the LIFEBOOK P701 notebook
is equipped with an SD slot.
