6. Programming your infrared heater
Infrared and convection heating work differently, whereas convection heaters are
switched on and off regularly due to inefficiency and expensive running costs,
infrared heaters should be set up using temperature parameters and left on.
The most efficient way to set up an infrared heater is by using temperature
parameters as follows:
Infrared heaters should be set up with an 'on' temperature, that is the temperature
you want your home or office to be at when you are there and using it. There
should also be an 'off' temperature, that is a temperature that you do not allow the
home or office to drop below. Typically the 'on' temperature would be 21ºC or
22ºC with the 'off' set at 14ºC or 15ºC.
With the infrared heating set up in this way, heat is stored and maintained in the
structure of the space that is being heated, meaning less heat loss, a more
comfortable heat and a more cost efficient heating system. Your heater will
maintain both the 'on' and 'off' temperatures efficiently and will generally only be
drawing power about 1/3 of the time.
This means that you will have an ‘on’ temperature (the sun icon) and an ‘off’
temperature (the moon icon). We suggest that for maximum efficiency you should
set the ‘on’ to 22ºC and the ‘off’ to 14 or 15ºC
If you have a number of heaters it is possible to set up a master controller for
different zones, for example you might want a bedroom zone and a living zone,
each zone having different temperature and timing settings.
You can set up one master controller for each zone and programme accordingly. It
is then as simple as pointing the controller at each heater in turn, scrolling through
the icon set on the handset until you get to the clock setting on the far right. The
heater will then flash and beep confirming that the settings have been imported by
the heater.!

the time that you want the heater to be at the ‘on’ setting, press +. When you want
it off again, press -
8. When you reach the end of the day, press the centre oval button again - this
will take you to the next day (number 2), do this for all 7 days.!
9. Now use the button on the bottom right to switch on the heater
10. You will now see the sun icon. This is the temperature that the heater will be
trying to heat to when the heater is on. The default is 20ºC, you can change this
with the + or - buttons
11. Press the centre oval button again. You will now see the moon icon. This is the
temperature that the heater will keep the space at when the the heater is ‘off’. The
default setting is 18ºC, we generally reduce this to 14ºC or 15ºC

12. Press the centre oval button again. You will now see the snowflake icon. This
is the frost protection setting. Put it on this setting if you are on holiday and it will
stop the space from dropping below this temperature
13. Press the centre oval button again. You will now see the timer (clock) icon.
These are the settings you programmed in earlier and the heater will now operate
on these programmed settings. Now when you press the centre button and point it
at the heater, you will notice that the heater will beep - this is the heater and the
controller communicating.
Work through the icons until you get to the timer icon point it at the heater as you
press and wait. It is now set up.!
14. Finally, using the touchscreen on the heater, press the I, II, or III This controls
the surface temperature of the heater. Initially, select III this allows the surface
temperature to go up to maximum it does not affect the temperature settings that
you programmed earlier and means that the space will get to temperature more
quickly. Setting I and II limits the surface temperature for 45ºC and 65ºC
respectively and is useful if you have vulnerable people in the property.
15. You should now have 3 green lights showing on the heater. The first above the
III, the second above the ‘wi-fi’ signal and the third below the branding icon. You
will also note a red light coming sometimes, this is the heater and the controller
communicating and activating the heater as required.!
