•OPERATION
This section explainsthe operation of thetrans-
mitter controlswhen the servo reversing switch-
es are inthe normal position. When the revers-
ing switches are inthe reverse position, opera-
tion isthe oppositeof that described here.

transmitter.Atdual OFF,the operatinglinearity
can be switchedasshowninFig. 8 withthe
VTR(VariableTrace Ratio)switch also located
on the trimmer panel.

The trimleveris used forneutralpositionadjustmentor correction of theposture of the aircraftafter

18 Throttle hold switch When this switch is
set to ON, the throttleservostopsatthe posi-
tion setat the 12trimmerand onlythe pitch
servo operates. This switchis used inauto-rota-
tion dives. Both throttle and pitch servos mix-
ing is performedwhenthisswitchif OFF.Itis
ON when pushed forward.

12Throttle hold point trimmer This trim-
mer sets the throttle servo stop point when the
throttlehold switch18issetto ON. When the
trimmer isturned counterclockwise,the throt-
tle servo moves to the stowside.
13 Throttle high side ATLtrimmer This
trimmer adjustsonly the high side of the throt-
tlestick.Itis extremelyconvenientwhen con-
nectingthe linkage,sincethe low sideremains
unchanged even when the throttle high side is
adjusted withthistrimmer.
14Throttle ->Rudder mixing ON-OFF
Switch This switch turns mixing from the
throttlecontrol(channel 3) to the rudder
(channel 4)ON and OFF.
1516 Rudder ATV trimmer. The adjust-
ment range is same as the aileronATV.
17 Rudder dual-rate trimmer Rudder dual-
rate or VTRtrimmer adjuststhe rudder travel
when the 19rudder dual-rate or VTR on/off
switchis ON.
18DR<->VTR switch
19,20 Pitch control trimmer The servo throw

TRAINER
Connect the transmitterswith the trainer cord

•Connect the servos and switches firmly as
shown in Fig. 20. Then extend thetransmitter
and receiverantennas fully.
•Set the transmitterpower switch to ON. then
set the receiverpower switchto ON. The servos
stop near theneutralposition. Operatethe
transmittersticksand check ifthe correspond-
ingservos faithfullyfollow operation of the
sticks.
•Aftersettingthe pushrods at the servo horns,
check thatthe directionof operationof the
transmittersticksand the directionof opera-
tion of the rudders arethe same.
•Operateeach servohorn overits entire operat-
ing range and check if the pushrod binds, or is
too loose. Applyingunreasonableforceto the
servo horn will adversely affectthe servo and
quickly drain the batteries.Alwaysmake the
operatingwidth of each rudder somewhatlarger
than thefullstroke(includingtrim)of the
servohorn. Adjusttheservohorns so that
operate smoothly even when the trim lever and
stickleverare operated simultaneouly inthe
same direction.
•Be alertfornoise.
Ifengine vibrationcauses metal parts to touch,
noise willbeproduced and the receiverand
servosmay operateincorrectly.We recommend
the use of noiseless parts.
•When installingthe switch,cut a rectangular
hole somewhat larger than the full stroke of the
switch and install the switch so itmoves smo-
othly fromON to OFF.When the switch is
mounted inside the fuselageand is turned ON-
OFF withwire,installthe switchmount as
describedabove.Installthe switchwhereitwill
notcome into direct contact with engine oil,
dust, etc.
•Even though the receiver antenna is long. do
not cutor bundle it.
•The servos, Ni-Cad battery,switches,extension
cords, and crystalsofFP-7FGHarethe same
as those of the high-quality JSeries.The crystals
are extremelypreciseand areidentifiedby
color(redand green).Use Tx and Rxcrystals
of the same color.
•A sparehorn is supplied. Useitas needed.
•Wrap the receiverinsponge rubber. Place the
receiverina plasticbag and wrapa rubber band
around the open end of the bag to waterproof
and dustproofthe receiver. Do the same with
thereceiver/servobattery.
•Use the rubber bands wrapped around the
receiverto hold the servoand switchleads.
•Aftermounting iscomplete, recheck each
part,then make the transmitter antenna as
short as possible, extendthe receiverantenna
fully, and operate the set from a distance of
20m to 30m. The movement of each rudder
(servo)should faithfullyfollowthe operation
of each stickof the transmitter.

•The frequencyof Futaba digital proportional
sets can be changed among bands (1)~(6) on
the 27MHz band only.
•However, a 27MHz band set cannot bechanged
to 72MHz band, and viceversa.
•Therefore,alwaysattach the correctfrequency
flag to the end of the transmitterantenna.
Each frequency band has its own designated
color, as statedabove. The frequency flagis
intended foridentificationpurposes.
•Also change the frequency flagwhen frequency
ischanged.
•Futaba paired crystalsare precisely matched.
Alwaysuse a Futaba crystalset (transmitter,
receiver)when changing the frequency.
•It isillegal to change crystalsof transmitter on
the72-75MHz bands inthe U.S.A.

3. Plugsorothermodifications which interfere with factory test procedures will bereturned to factory standardat
your expense.
4. Carefullypack all components individually, using sufficientpacking material toprevent damageduring shipment.
5.Include a brief butthorough explanationofallproblems and servicerequired and tape it totheback of the trans-
mitter Place a labeldescribing thefunctionof theservoon each servo
6. Be sure toInclude your fulladdress and tel.Mo.. zipcode inside theboxas well as on theoutside.
7. Includea packing list ofall itemsbeing returned,and double check tomake sure thatallitems are packed.
8. Upon receipt of your equipment at the Futaba factory, an estimate of the cost of repair (over $25.00 only) will be
