
Pleaserefertotheencloseddrawingsforpartillustrationandlocation.

Underneaththemachine,removethelowerpinconnectingthehydrauliccylindertothepushoverarm.

Attachthetwoguideplate’s(item2)totheinsideofeach(LEFTANDRIGHT)tube’stoptwopredrilledholesinthe
pushoverarmusing2carriagebolts(item7)and2lockingflangenuts(item9)each,softlysnugeachnuttothetube
toallowforfutureadjustment.

Manuallyraisethepushoverarmtotheupposition.

Remove(ifinstalled)thespringloadedextensionarm,byremovingtwo3/8”boltsanddiscard.

Withthepushoverarmintheupposition,insertthelonglegoftheskipistonarm(item1)intotheleftguideplate
(item2)and(start)theshortlegoftheskipistonarmintotheformedopeningofthepushoverarm.Priortoinserting
thelonglegoftheskipistonarm(item1)intotherightsideguideplate(item2)slide,inorder,2stopcollars(item5)
and1returnspring(item6)ontothelonglegoftheskipistonarm(item1)theninsertthelonglegoftheskipiston
arm(item1)intotherightsideguideplate(item2).

Lowerthepushoverarmtothedownposition.

Attachthebalestop(item3)underthebalethroughandrampwithtwohexbolts(item8)and2lockingflangenuts
(item9).Two13/32”holesmayhavetobedrilledusingthelocationssuppliedonthedrawings.(Thebalestopwill
helppreventanyscuffingortearingtotheendofalongbaleexitingthebalechamber.Thismayoccurwhen
thebalepushestheskipistonarmtoitsmaximumcontraction.)

Atthistime,makesuretheskipistonarmslidesbackandforthwithnoresistance.Theguideplatesmustbeadjustedso
thatthebottomoftheskiarmisnotrubbingthetopofthepushoverarm;(about1/16”+clearanceshouldbeachieved)
continuingtoadjusttheguideplatessotheskipistonarmmovesfreelywithnoresistance.Finishtighteningthe
mountingnuts(items9)toassureguideplateswillnotslip.

Slidetheskipistonarm(item1)1”fromtherampandbalestop.Slidetheleftsidestopcollar(item5)firmlyagainstthe
leftsideguideplate(item2)andtighten.Slidethereturnspring(item6)firmlyagainsttherightsideguideplate(item
2)slidetherightstopcollaragainstthereturnspringuntilthespringretracts½“andtightenthestopcollar.


WILLRECEIVETENSIONWHENITCONTACTSTHEBALEOFHAY.Thelengthofthespringat
thepropersettingshouldmeasureapprox.11½”betweentheguideplates.





NOTE!
Makesurethatthesetscrews,inthestopcollars,setsproperlyintotheskipistonarm.Thesetscrewsaregroundtoa
pointandwillcreateanindentationintothepipetoassurethestopcollarswillnotslip.

Pushorpulltheskipistonarmtowardtherearofthemachineandreleasequickly.Youshouldexperiencearapidly
returnoftheskipistonarm.Dothisaboutsixtimes.Arapidreturnmeansyouhaveachievedproperalignment.Some
adjustingortweakingoftheguideplatesmayberequiredtoassureproperalignment.

WerecommendapplyingaTEFLONBASEDSPRAYLUBRICANTtothepipeatthetwoguideplatesliding
locations.Werecommendusing(ZEP2000)youcanpurchaseitatGRAINGER(Product#5DPV9).

Makesurethereis8”min.distancebetweentheendoftheskipistonarmpipeandtheforwardpointofthe
controlarm.Thiswillassurenodamagetothecontrolarmwhentheskipistonarmisfullyretractedwhile
thepushoverarmisreturningtothedownposition.

Lineupthebalefence(item4)withtheinsidefaceoftheaccumulatorframe;markthelocationofthe
holes,centerpunch,anddrillthree21/64“holes.Installthefencewithselftappingscrews(item10)besure
tolubricatetheselftappingscrewsbeforeinserting.Thefencewillpreventanyshortbalesexitingthebale
chutefrombeingejectedfromthemachinewhenthepushoverarmisreturningtothedownposition.

