INSTRUCTIONS OF USE
1) Make sure that your hands are completely dry before connecting the appliance to the outlet.
2) Connect the hair dryer and switch the power-on/lock switch from 0 to I. (Fig.1)
(Fig.1)
When first switched on, the hair dryer is set with both air flow and temperature set at the minimum,
corresponding to the first indicator light from the bottom, next to the side buttons.(Fig.2)
(Fig.2)
AIR FLOW SPEED
The hair dryer is equipped with an air flow adjustment button.
By pressing the top, the air flow increases as shown by the white indicator lights. To decrease the flow,
press the bottom part of the adjustment button. (Fig.3)
(Fig.3)

6
TEMPERATURE SETTINGS
The hair dryer is fitted with 3 temperature levels that can be adjusted by pressing the dedicated button. By
pressing the upper part of the button, the temperature increases as indicated by the 3 red indicator lights.
To decrease the temperature, press the bottom part of the button. (Fig.4)
(Fig.4)
COOL SHOT
You can use the “Cool Shot” button during hair drying to promote a long-lasting style.
To activate this function, simply press and hold the COOL SHOT button. To deactivate it, release the button.
When the Cool Shot is active, the hair dryer blows cold air regardless of the temperature it is set on. The
temperature indicators flash quickly to indicate the COOL SHOT mode is active. By turning it off, the
temperature returns to the previous setting (COOL SHOT mode deactivation). (Fig.5)
(Fig.5)
LOCK BUTTON
After setting the desired air flow speed and temperature, the buttons can be locked to prevent accidental
change during use. To lock the air speed and temperature buttons, turn the power-on/lock switch to the
locking position (Fig. 6). While the air speed and temperature buttons are locked, the Cool Shot
button/function can still be used.
(Fig.6)

7
MEMORY FUNCTION
The iQ has a speed and temperature memorization system. When the product is turned off, the last air
speed and temperature settings are stored, so that when the dryer is turned back on, it automatically goes
back to those saved settings. However, if the dryer is disconnected from the plug, the factory setting will be
restored.
VENTURI EFFECT
IQ’s shape allows an easier Venturi effect, i.e. the spreading of a higher air flow due to the suction effect
without requiring and therefore consuming additional energy. (Fig.13)
(Fig.13)
BRUSHING SETTING
Due tothe iQ’s exceptional air flow andpressure, we highly recommend a unique Brushing Setting to
guarantee the hair’s protection and optimize the hairdryer’s performance. The recommended Brushing
Setting is the 2nd temperature level for regular types of hair and 1st temperature level for those with
fine hair.
ATTENTION:
If you are using an extension cord, please check the power cord dimension written onthe extension’s cable.
For 110V dryers, the cable’s dimension must beequal to or greater than 16AWG.
For 220V dryers, the cable’s dimension must beequal to or greater than 1.0mm2

ACCESSORIES
-2 concentrator nozzles
-1 diffuser
INSTRUCTIONS FOR INSERTING THE ACCESSORIES
To insert both concentrator nozzle and diffuser, simply apply a light pressure.
The accessories must be inserted gently, without too much force and in such a way as to leave a thin space
between the metal ring on the front of the hair dryer and the accessory itself. (Fig.12)
The IQ accessories have a conical, non-traditional (mechanical or magnetic) coupling that allows users to
securely fix the accessories simply by applying a light pressure.
(Fig.12)
IMPORTANT:
Use only original GAMA accessories.
On the website www.gamaprofessional.com it is possible to download the product’s digital use and
maintenance manual.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
The iQ possesses a unique micro-perforated filter, designed specifically to trap even the tiniest dirt
particles and impurities from the environment. By preventing the passage of environmental pollutants to
the engine and hair, it protects the hairdryer’s motor and increases its life. It also prevents dirt from
reaching the hair and scalp during the styling phase, thus protecting its health and promoting its shine.
Therefore, the daily cleaning of the micro-perforated filter is essential to maintaining the optimal
functioning of the product and ensuring its long-lasting performance.
The proper cleaning of the filter is absolutely necessary to optimize the micro-perforated filter’s function
and hence, protect the hairdryer’s motor.
WARNING
The accumulation of dirt resulting from the improper cleaning of the filter may result in engine damage and
affect the hairdryer’s performance. As a protection measure, in case of excessive accumulation of dirt in
the filter, the hairdryer’s intelligent digital interface may turn off the dryer in order to protect the motor.
When this happens, a white LED light will turn on indicating that the filter must be cleaned immediately.
(Fig. 7).

10
MICROPERFORATED METAL FILTER’S CORRECT CLEANING PROCESS
This process consists of two easy steps: Manual Cleaning and Auto-Cleaning function.
MANUAL CLEANING
1) Carefully remove the external back filter by turning the metal ring carefully in a counter-clockwise
direction (Fig. 8).
(Fig.8)
2) Clean the metal filter by using a brush first and then finishing with a clean cloth, making sure that any
dirt that is lodged in the filter is removed. We highly recommend moistening the cloth with isopropyl
alcohol, which acts as degreaser and removes any possible residues.
For professional users, the manual cleaning process must be done daily. For domestic use, it can be done
weekly.
AUTO CLEANING FUNCTION
1) Carefully remove the external back filter by turning the metal ring in a counter-clockwise direction (Fig.
8).
2) Without accessories attached to the dryer (such as nozzles or diffuser), turn the dryer on (position 1)
for a few seconds to ensure that there are no hair residues or dust left on the main air outlet.
3) Then turn the hairdryer off and proceed to press and hold the top speed button for 7 seconds (Fig. 9).

11
4) The dryer will then automatically start blowing air in reverse direction, towards the back of the dryer.
The air pressure should remove all the dirt caught in the filter. The auto-cleaning cycle will last 15
seconds, the necessary time to guarantee the correct cleaning of the filter after intensive professional
use. During this process, make sure you keep both the air outlet and the air inlet free from obstructions
and away from any surface or exposed to any hair chemical airborne products, such as hairsprays.
(Fig.8) (Fig.9)
We recommend using the auto-cleaning function after each use.
At the end of the AUTO CLEANING session:
1) Reposition the external rear ring, taking care to reposition it in the right direction (just check that
the positioning occurs easily, without friction or pressure). CAUTION: if inserted in the wrong
direction (on the slightly narrower side), the applied pressure could damage the piece and/or cause
it to break. (Fig.10)
2) Reposition the metal ring containing the external filter by making its two interlocking tabs coincide
with the two plastic slots on the product body, and rotate it clockwise. (Fig.11)
(Fig. 10)
(Fig.11)

13
ERROR RECOGNITION / SELF-DIAGNOSIS
The hair dryer is equipped with multiple sensors that constantly monitor usage parameters. In case of
extreme or unusual use, the hair dryer will stop its operation or not turn on in order to protect both the
user and the product itself. Any anomaly detected by the hair dryer is indicated by a flashing light code on
the handle.
Since some types of anomaly are temporary (for example, an extreme use of the hair dryer which generates
an excess in temperature), we recommend proceeding as follows:
1) Turn the switch to the off position 0.
2) Unplug the appliance from the power outlet.
3) After a few minutes, connect the appliance to the power outlet again and turn it on.
If the indicator lights stop flashing, the problem is solved. If, on the other hand, they continue flashing,
contact the store's assistance service or, in the case of purchase from the GA.MA’s online shop, the
company's customer care.
N.B.: Since IQ is equipped with a sophisticated and sensitive electronic system, a change in electrical
voltage could cause an error signal and therefore a switch off of the device. This is functional and it is a self-
protection mechanism.
