Tips for using the Oasis Self-Watering Tomato Planter
Keep your tomatoes plump and happy with products, advice, and inspiration
from gardeners.com
• When filling container, press soil firmly into reservoir pockets to ensure contact with water. We recommend
one of our self-watering potting mixes. Planter holds quarts of potting mix.
• While the plants are young, water soil from the top until the roots get established (- weeks).
• As plant grows, fill the reservoir through the water fill tube. Check soil moisture regularly (-" down) and
fill as needed. If the soil dries out, refill the reservoir and water thoroughly from above to re-establish the
wicking action. If you overfill the reservoir, excess water will drain out through the drain hole.
• When the yellow indicator ball is below the top of the fill tube, it's time to refill the reservoir. When the
indicator ball reaches the top of fill tube, the reservoir is full. If excess water is draining, but the indicator
ball is not at the top of the fill tube, gently push the indicator ball down to reset.
• The included supports are perfectly sized for determinate tomatoes or other plants that grow approx.
' high. For taller varieties, add our Trellis Extension, sold separately.
• We recommend adding cups of fertilizer to your plant every - weeks.
• In hot zones, place the planter in a spot that gets afternoon shade.
