Assembly
Now that your Ghost Racer is here, Let's put this bad dude together.
GasBike.net recommends a professional to assemble and check your
motorized bicycle.
First remove the Ghost Racer from the box and remove all zip ties and
plastic protective packaging.
Selecting a Bicycle
Picking the right bike is essential, must have room in the frame to
accommodate the engine. Also make sure that the bike has brakes capable
of stopping. We suggest front and rear hand brakes, disk brakes are
recommended. 2 Type of Frames are recommended, Beach cruiser bikes
and Mountain V frame bikes. The engine when installed with the mounting
plate will need at least 11” X 8” to install.
7

Install The Motor
Bolt the motor (#1) to the mounting plate (#6) loosely, then install on the
bike. The mount is designed to slide back and forth. Its best to slide the
motor as far forward and as low as possible to leave room for the
carburetor air filter, and allow access to the choke lever. Keep in mind that
the choke lever is plastic and could break, install with care. Tighten all bolts
when desired location is achieved.
Install the Clutch
Rotate engine so the keyway is facing up. Locate the keyed opening on the
clutch pack , place the Clutch (#3) on the shaft. Secure the clutch with the
bolts and washers.
8

Install the Transmission
Place the Transmission (#4) on the motor (#1) The clutch will fit in the big
hole, secure the transmission to the motor with the 4 bolts provided. Belt
tension can be adjusted by using the Belt tightening tool (#15) and tighten
the 4 bolts that secure the transmission gear to the transmission.
Mount Rear Wheel Sprocket
Can only be installed on a 36 spoke wheel.
The 9 Hole sprocket is probably the most
frustrating part of the installation, sometimes
it's best to do this first. Remove the rear
wheel. If the wheel has a coaster brake, the
brake arm will have to be removed. Take care
not to rotate the shaft as this will loosen the
bearing races. Now Grab your rear wheel
pineapple assembly (#7). Cut a slit between to
holes on the rubber doughnut, this one is
placed inside the wheel around the hub. Place
the 9 bolts in the sprocket first, then through the other rubber doughnut.
Install 3 Metal brackets, then washer, Lock washer and nut.
Connect Motor Chain
The 415 chain (#16) that connects the clutch off the rear wheel is 110 links
long, it may need to be cut to fit some bikes. Remove masterlink and wrap
the chain around the clutch 10 tooth gear and the rear wheel sprocket.
Measure and cut chain to size. Reinstall the 415 master link. Use the
supplied chain tension to remove any excess slack.
9

Install the Throttle and Kill Switch
Unscrew the two philips head screws on the throttle with the kill switch
(#13). Kill switch will split in two. Screw in the J bend part of the throttle
cable into the bottom of the kill switch and secure with the attached nut.
Route the inner wire through the kill switch so it can be hooked up to the
twist throttle handle. Place cable end in the handle like shown in the
picture. If the upper half of the kill switch has a secure nub, a hole will have
to be drilled into the handlebars to keep the throttle from twisting. Slide the
throttle on the bars and tighten the 2 screws.
The Kill Switch Wiring
The Kill switch (#13) will have 2 wires that come off the unit on the
handlebars. One wire will be used to ground out the motor. Wire under the
ground bolt on the motor. The other wire connects to the wire on the
motor. Color does not matter, either wire can be used.
10

Connect the Throttle Cable to Carburetor
Route the throttle cable from the handle to the left, the cable will enter from
the air cleaner side of the motor, usually a 180 degree turn. Route the inner
wire through the adjustable cable bracket on the carb (see picture above),
then run the cable end in the slot in the throttle cable connection.
11

Wide Cranks
Because of the width of the the motor the use of wide cranks is needed.
The cranks are a standard square taper bottom bracket. If the cranks that
came on the bike are one piece, a square taper bottom bracket will need to
be used (not included).
Install the Pedals
Pedals installed on the wide cranks provided in the kit use a 9/16” Pedal
size. The pedals will have a R or a L stamped on them, they indicate which
foot will touch it when seated on the bike. Screw the Right pedal on the the
side where your right foot would be, use a 15mm Wrench to tighten. Pedals
will always screw in a forward direction. Do the same with the left on the
left side.
12

Maintenance Requirements
Maintenance requirements are a normal part of owning and operating a
motorized bicycle. The operator of the Ghost Racer by Gasbike.net is
responsible for properly maintaining the vehicle and for understanding
when and how the motorized bicycle must be serviced. The exact timing in
which maintenance procedures must be performed will vary based on the
type of maintenance, riding conditions, and riding frequency. The
maintenance procedures outlined in this manual are simply guidelines for
how and when to perform basic maintenance procedures. Other than the
procedures referenced in this manual, there are many other more
complicated maintenance procedures which will need to be performed on
your Ghost Racer during your ownership of the product. Failure to properly
maintain your vehicle could prevent the motorized bicycle from operating
properly and could also result in harm or fatal injury to the rider or others.
Ghost Racer by Gasbike.net has no responsibility or liability for the costs to
properly maintain the vehicle (unless explicitly covered by warranty) or for
motorized bicycle damage or human injury resulting from an owner or
operator’s failure to service and maintain the Ghost Racer properly.
13

Maintenance / Fluids
Before your first ride, fluids will have to be added to the Ghost Racer (not
included).
Gasoline
Use only 87 or Higher octane pump gas. Do not use fuel additives, will void
your warranty. Do not fill tank all the way to the top, leave some room to
avoid splashing. Always add fuel when the motor is off, adding fuel to a
running motor could lead to harm or fire. Only add fuel to bike frame tank
only.
Engine Oil
Only check oil level when the motor is sitting level. Unscrew dipstick
remove, wipe and re-insert, check level. Add oil if necessary, do not overfill.
10w-30 motor oil is recommended for most all temperature use.
14

Maintenance Schedule
Scheduled inspection and adjustment of the engine is essential if a high
level of performance is to be maintained. Regular maintenance will also
provide a long service life, and help maintain vehicle safety. The required
service intervals and the kind of maintenance to be performed are
described in the tables below.
WARNING
