1. Product Introduction
M518 GPRS/GSM Model GPS intelligent terminal (Mobile user terminals)
Built-in industrial GPRS/GSM communication module and the newest SIRF-Star III
High-sensitivity GPS receiver positioning module，adopt GPRS and SMS Dual-mode
communication, terminal run stably and reliably, full functions, multi-interface, the
terminal can be applied to concrete, rental, logistics, public transport, bus and other
fields, and also according to different industries, tailored to different users.

4. Connector Description
4.1 Power interface

5. Installation
5.1 Warm reminder for Installation
In order to realize the full functions of this product, please read this manual carefully
before starting to use the product.
1. This product can only be maintained and repaired by qualified professional service
personnel. If you detach this product for maintenance or repair, your warranty will be
invalidated.
2. When connecting the other devices, read carefully their instruction manuals, so as
to carry out correct installation; do not connect incompatible device.
3. Please use genuine original parts and qualified batteries and peripheral equipments,
so as to avoid damage to this product.
4. As this product is a high-tech product, please read carefully this manual before
starting to use the product, so as to avoid inappropriate operation.
5. Drivers should not operate this product while driving a vehicle, thereby, affecting
safe driving.
6. This product can work properly only when GSM communication is in good
condition.
7. Please reduce electromagnetic wave interference to the product; and use it properly.
8. GPS communication is liable to be affected by environmental shielding; may fail to
carry out positioning during certain circumstances. It will resume the positioning
function as soon as it leaves the shielding environment. This is normal. Please do not
worry when encountering such problem.
9. Each signal sent out from the system will be confirmed for successful transmission
in the base station of the mobile operator. However, if system stoppage occurs or if
the mobile telephone is preset to a switch off state by the customer, it cannot ensure
successful transmission.
10. For safety reason, do not tell the other people your device SIM number, without
taking precautions. Otherwise, your privacy may be compromised along with other
safety problem.

1. connect with handle or scheduling screen, then do as follows：
i. press menu, enter into “settings”, choose “default setting”, the password:
20050215, hint “success” to get the next step.
ii. Set ip address and port, the format as follows:
0,xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx,

( input”,” press * , input”.” Press #), which means；Y+IP+PORT, If
IP don’t have three digits, please add “0”in front of it to up 3 digits, Y means:
0- private net, 1- public net, in practice, please ignore it. hint “success” to get
the next step. such as our platform server’s IP and PORT as follows:

iii. Set own number, please make sure the own number should be 11 digits.
such as :12345678901, hint “success” to get the next step.
iv. Set APN. You can input the APN manually. If ok . all parameters are set.

If all done , generally in 60 seconds, the screen shows “◆”means detected GPS
signal，“GP” stand for that the terminal detected GPRS signal, in the meantime,
monitoring centre can correctly track vehicle , means terminal work normal.
Notes:
Input parameters must be correct, it is recommended that use the handle of the "host
status query" function to check the parameters after the set up.

5.3 how to track by software
1. Add device into tracking system.
1.1 open adding vehicle system(recommend that open this link via IE) ：
http://211.154.139.208:8000/vms/ （please get login ID from sales who follows ）
1.2. create a fleet for vehicle, Steps as follows:
Click “new fleet” , input Fleet name, then save.
1.3 Create new vehicle, steps as follows：

a. Click new vehicle
b. Fill the blanks with *, the most important item is system Number, it should be unique ID,
set ID begin with 13 and ID should be 11 digits, for example: 13512345678
1.4 open tracking software: http://gps.gatorcn.com/ ( same login ID with VMS)
2. Insert SIM card , connect with antenna and power supply
2.1 open the device as picture shows:
2.2 insert SIM card into tracker, details please see picture:
2.3 connect GPS and GSM antenna with tracker, please operate carefully, and put antennas in
the open air.
2.4 Connect with power supply.
3.Parameter settings to connect with server via SMS.
Edit following SMS command in cell phone and send it to the SIMCARD inside
tracker, please edit exact format as following SMS.
3.1 APN with username and password
SS,*APN*,*USERNAME*,*PASSWORD*,*IP*,*port*,*terminal ID*,*+Service

3.2 APN without username and password:

Get reply after you send this SMS command within 2 minutes.
Notes:
a. APN: Access Point Name of GPRS, you can get APN of SIM card from local operator
b.terminal ID is same as system number created under VMS( 11 digits and begin with 13).
c.please add country code in the front of service SMS number, such as:Chinese code is 86. SMS
number is 13612345678, You can set the SMS number like this, *[phone]*
d. service SMS number: it is for receiving SMS alarm to monitor vehicle, for example, if press
SOS button, service SMS number will get SOS alarm.
d.default password is 123456
