head(FIGURE1.A) andthecabinet(FIGURE1.8).

.."Specifications" sectionof this Manual).Toinsureproperinstallationandavoid
injury,GBCrecommendsthattwopeoplesetupthis unit. Usecarenotto pinchyour
fingersbetweentheshredderheadandcabinet.Handleshredderheadasillustrated.
1. Usingthehandgrips(FIGURE2.A) provided,placetheshredderheadontothetop
ofthecabinet.Thecontrolpanelmayfacetowardthefrontor backofthecabinet.
2. Openthedoorbypressingonthedoorknob(FIGURE2.8) andplacethehandgrips
(FIGURE3.A) intotheholesfoundin thecabinetfloor (FIGURE3.8).
3. Removethewirebagrimandplaceoneoftheshredbagsontotherim. Slidetherim
withbagbackintothecabinet. Closethecabinetdoor.
4. Connectthepowercordto astandard,singlephasesocket.Fuse:15Amp.Max.
5. Afterreadingtheoperatinginstructions,slidethemintotheholder(FIGURE3.C)
andclosethedoor.

OPERATION-FIGURE 4.
Presstherockerswitch(A)to thePowerON'I' position. Whentheshredderis properly
setupwithcabinetdoorfully closed,thePowerON'1' light (8) will illuminate.
Youarenowreadytoshred!
Toshredsimplyinsertpaperintothethroatoftheunit. Onceyourdocumenthas
activatedtheautomaticonfeature,theunitautomaticallywill startandthenwill stoponce
yourdocumentisshredded.
BIN FULL ~
Inorderto preventshredsfrombackingup intothecuttersandjammingyourshredder,
this unitfeaturesanautomaticbinfull shutoff. Oncetheshredbin is full, the
unitwill shutoffautomaticallyandthebinfull light (C)will illuminate.Youcannow
eithercompacttheshredsandcontinueshredding,oremptytheshredbag.
NOTE:Forsafetyreasons,wheneverthecabinetdoorhasbeenopenedthis unitwill not
operateuntilthedooris closedandtheunitis switchedoffandthenbackon.

Yourshredderis equippedwithasafetyinterlockwhichwill notallowtheunitto operate
if thecabinetdooris open. TheDoorAjarlight (D)will illuminateif yourcabinetdooris
notfully closed.
OVERLOAD R
Iftoo muchpaperis insertedintothethroatoftheunit,theshredderwill sensean
overloadandshutoffautomaticallyto avoidunnecessarymotorheatingandtheOverload
Light(E)will illuminate.Tocleartheoverload,switchtheunitto Reverse'R' modeuntil
thepaperisclearofthethroatarea.SwitchyourunitbackintothePowerON'I' position,
separateyourpagesintosmallersetsandshred.
