Troubleshooting tips: Save time and money! Review the chart below first and you may not need to call for service.
Possible Causes What ToDo
The air conditioner • Make sure dm air conditioner plug is pushed

The fuse is blown/clrcuit • Check the house fuse/circuit breaker box and replace

Power failure. • If power failure occurs, turn the air conditioner OFF.
When power is restored, wait 3 minutes to restart the
air conditioner to prevent tripping of the compressor
overload.
Airflow is restricted. • Make sure there are no curtains, blinds or flu'nimre
blocking the fi'ont of tim air conditioner.
The temp control may • On models with much pads: In COOLmode, press the

The room may have been hot. • When the air conditioner is first mlamd on, you need

Cold air is escaping. • Check for open furnace registeL's and cold air returns.
• Set the air conditioner's vent to the closed position.
Cooling coils have iced up. • See "Air conditioner freezing up" below.
Ice blocks the air flow • On models with control knobs, set the mode control
and stops the air conditioner at HIGH FAN or HIGH COOLwith the remp at Ior 2
from cooling the room. • On models with touch pads, set the controls at
HIGH FANor HIGH COOLand set the thermostat to
a higher temperature.
The batterles are inset ted • Check the position of the batteries. 'l]aey should Ix-
incorrectly, inserted in the opposite (+) and (-) direction.
The batterles may be dead. • Replace the batteries.
Hot, humid weather. • This is normal.
The air conditioner is not • For proper water disposal, make sure the air conditioner

Moisture removed from air • 'l]fis is normal fbr a short period in areas with little
and dra_s into base pan. humidity; normN for a longer period in very humid areas.
Function error code. • Unplug the air condifionel: Wait 3 minutes and plug it
back in. If tim error code reappears, call for service.
Normal Operating Sounds

moisture and improve efficiency.

compressor cycles on and off.
_NWater will collect in the base pan during
high humidity or on rainy days. 'I11e water
may overflow and drip from the outdoor side
of tim unit.
