IUSE and CARE
Your hood has anameplate on which is stamped the model number and serial number. To
locate nameplate, remove filter and look on back wall of hood body.
Model and serial numbers are also on the Purchase Record Card which came with your hood.
Before sending in this card, please record the numbers in the space below, or get them from
nameplate described above, and record here.
Model Number Serial Number
Please reference both these numbers in any future correspondence or product service calls
concerning your hood.
SAFETYTIPS TO FOLLOWWHILE COOKINGELECTRICALLY
Whenyou get your newhood. ..
eHave it installed and properly grounded by aqualified installer.
eHave the installer show you the location of the hood circuit breaker or fuse, and
mark it for easy reference.
eDo take the time to read our suggestions for best use.

Duetothe hood fan drawing power, special caution is needed to avoid spreading
of possible flame from the cooking surface of your range.
Never leave surface units unattended at high heat settings. Boilover causes
smoking and greasy spillovers that may ignite and spread if ventilating hood is
used. Use surface unit heat settings recommended by manufacturer and ade-
quate-size utensils.
When flaming foods under the hood, turn the fan off. The fan, if operating, may
spread the flame.
Never use your cooking appliance for warming or heating the room. The elec-
trical wiring of your range ventilating hood may not withstand the resulting ex-
cessive heat.
Keep hood and grease filters clean according to instructions to maintain good
venting and to avoid grease fires.
DO NOT USE WATER ON GREASE FIRES. NEVER PICK UP AFLAMING PAN.
Smother flaming pan on surface unit by covering pan completely with well fitting
lid, cookie sheet or flat tray, and, IF YOU CAN DO SO WITHOUT GETTING
BURNED, immediately turn “OFF” the surface unit switch and ventilating hood,
if there is adanger of being burned, wait until AFTER flame has been reduced. 2+

TO CLEANFILTER,soakandthenagitatein ahot detergentsolution.Lightbrushing
maybeusedto removeimbeddedsoil.Rinse,shakeandremovemoisturebeforereplacing.
TOREPLACEFILTER,putthefilterrimin andagainsttwoclips,pushoutwardonthe
third clipwithyour fingerand pressfilterupwardinto place.
MOTO= AND FAN:
If the fan failsto circulateair,possiblecausessuchas the fan bladestrikingthe hood
shellor excessivelysoiledfiltershouldbe checkedandcorrectedbeforeusingthe hood
again.
If thefanoperatesbut movesairslowerthannormal,checkto be surethefilterisclean.
If thatdoesnot correcttheproblem,callyourserviceman.

Your hoociis equippedwithan ordinaryscrewbaselampholder.The lampis not sup-
plied.If the lampshould fail, unscrewthe lampand replace.DO NOT USE MORE
THAN A60 WATT LAMP IN THIS HOOD.
Do notcontactawarmor hot lampwithamoistclothor hand.It maybreakthelamp.
Alwaysletlampscool beforereplacingor cleaningaroundthem.

breaker.
If thefanoperates,butslowerthannormal,themotormayneedoiling.CallyourGeneral

If thefanshouldcontinuecyclingoff andon, callyour GeneralElectricserviceman.
