Driver installation under Windows 98
•Put the Disk Drive into the CD-ROM, open the COMBO
driver, double-click the installation icon, the below picture
will appear
•When ou see the following picture, please press "Next"

•Please use "FDisk" to partition our HDD, note that this will
destro all the data in the HDD
•Format our HDD b standard procedures

Q1: I can see the icon in the s stem tra , but I still can’t f ind
m external HDD
1:
•Please make sure our HDD has been installed correctl
•Please make sure our HDD has been set in “Master” mode
•Please make sure ou have installed correct driver for this
enclosure

•Please make sure our HDD has been formatted. If no,
please format our hard disk f irst
•If ou are sure ou have installed correctl all the
hardware and software, please follow the steps below to
f ind our HDD
•Enter “Control Panel” and choose “S stem” icon
•Choose “Device Manager” from the “Hardware” tab
•Find a “Disk” categor . There should be 3 drivers, double
click “Generic STORAGE DEVICE USB Device”
•Find the “Settings” button and choose the option
“Removable Drive”
•Your computer will automaticall assign a new letter to this
portable HDD after restarting our computer
Q2: Wh I can’t f ind m enclosure at all?
2: Such trouble might happen with some notebook models.
That’s because the notebook manufacturers remove the power
from the USB port to reduce the heat in the notebook. It is also

possible that some old computer models don’t suppl suff icient
power for USB. To solve this problem please, use the provided
power suppl to provide enough power to the enclosure.
C UTIONS
•When using USB 2.0 interface external power is needed
when HDD consumes power over 550mA
•If ou are not sure what OS ou are using, please contact
our PC dealer
•Please don’t place this external enclosure in a humid or
high-temperature environment
•If b an reason our software installation is failed, please
uninstall the wrong devices f irst. To do it please, open
“Control Panel > S stem > Device Manager” and remove
all “PCI to USB Open Host Controllers” with “?” or “!”
marks.
