The GEMLUX®Internally Rigged Outriggers
Congratulations on your new Bluewater Internally-Rigged Outrigger set from GEMLUX!
These are assembled in several sections for your storage and transportation convenience.
This document will help you get them set up and ready for fishing. Don’t worry, it’s easy!
1. Inventory: Inside the box are enough pole sections to make two fully-assembled outrigger
poles. The table and diagrams below only show parts for one pole, for clarity.

The Base Pole (A) is identified by the collar and plastic adapter that goes into the outrigger
base. The two smallest poles that are for the tip end, Large Tip Pole (C) and Small Tip Pole (D)
are nested together, and the other single pole is the Middle Pole (B). Most of the hardware for
assembling the outrigger is pre-installed, with the exception of each Pole Tip (H) and the Large
Roller Guide (F) that attaches the Tip Poles (C and D) together. These parts are in a small bag.
These instructions cover assembly of the poles. Suggested methods for rigging during assembly
are available for reference on our website, however it’s easy to rig the poles after final assembly
if you want to rig your halyard lines later.
2. Set aside parts for one pole assembly: Grab one Pole Tip (H) and one Large Roller Guide (F)
from the parts bag, and one Base Pole (A), one Middle Pole (B), and two Tip Poles (C and D) from
the box and lay them out for assembly.
3. Extend and assemble the Tip Poles (C and D):
a. Find the end of the Small Tip Pole (D) and remove the
Long Screw (J).
Orient the Pole Tip (H) and install it flush into the
Small Tip Pole (D).
Reinstall the Long Screw (J).

b. Slide the Small Tip Pole (D) out of the Large Tip Pole (C)
until their slots line up.
c. Install the loose Large Roller Guide (F) from the parts bag
into the slots in the Tip Poles (C and D). The end with
the roller is installed toward the base, with the open end
toward the tip. Install two short screws (I).
4. Install the Tip Poles (C and D) into the Middle Pole (B):
a. Remove the Large Roller Guide (F) and two Short Screws
(I) from the bottom of the Large Tip Pole (C).

b. Slide the assembled Tip Poles (C and D) into the
Middle Pole (B) until the slots line up between the
Large Tip Pole (C) and Middle Pole (B).
c. Install the Large Roller Guide (F) into the aligned slots in
the Middle Pole (B) and Large Tip Pole (C). Install the two
Short Screws (I) to fasten the Tip Poles and Middle Pole
(B) together.
5. Install the assembled Tip and Middle Poles (B, C, and D) into the Base Pole (A):
a. Remove the Short Screw (I) and Long Screw (J) to remove
the Double Pin Guide (G) from the bottom of the Middle
Pole (B).

b. Slide the Middle Pole (B) into the Base Pole (A) until the
slots line up.
c. Install one Long Screw (J) through the base end of the
Double Pin Guide (G), and one Short Screw (I) through the
tip end of the Double Pin Guide (G).
6. Repeat all steps for the second outrigger.
