NCIT100 Hawkeye Non-Contact Infrared Thermometer
Instruction Manual
Overview
The Hawkeye Non-Contact Infrared Thermometer is designed for
fast and accurate body temperature measurements, without
physical contact. That makes it ideal for mass temperature
screening and monitoring of individuals at workplaces, public
events and social gatherings.

Operating Instructions
To change the measurement unit, open the battery compartment
and move the switch inside the compartment to °F or °C position.
To install the batteries, open the battery
compartment, install 2 “AAA”batteries according to
the instruction sticker, and then close the
compartment door until it snaps shut.
To take a temperature measurement:
1. Aim the infrared thermometer (NCIT) at the center of the
forehead and keep the NCIT perpendicular to the target
surface. The distance between the NCIT and the forehead
should be between 0.4 and 1.1 inches.
2. Press and release the trigger. Dashed lines will appear on
the screen with the word “SCAN” underneath them.
3. Do not move the NCIT from this position until the reading
appears on screen. A reading should appear in under 2
seconds with the word “HOLD” underneath it.
4. Depending on the reading, the screen color will change to
either green, yellow or red and the unit will beep one, two,
or three times respectively to alert the user to elevated
temperatures.

c. 100.4°F (38°C) and greater, Red & 3 beeps
5. Repeat this process for each temperature measurement.
When taking multiple temperatures in a row, if the screen
seems to be stuck on the last reading wait a few seconds
and press the trigger again. This should initiate scanning.
Operation Notes
1. The NCIT100 provides an oral equivalent temperature based
on a forehead skin measurement. External sources, such as
extreme ambient temperatures or physical activity, can
skew the readings. Keep both the NCIT and the subject in
the same ambient environment for at least 30 minutes to
stabilize the device before testing. Multiple readings may be
necessary to determine an accurate body temperature
reference.
2. Make sure the forehead is not covered by anything. Hats,
hair, sweat, or other obstructions can make the reading less
accurate. Any obstructions should be removed, and the user
should wait at least 10 minutes to take the subject’s
temperature.
3. Keep the device away from electro-magnetic fields and
electrostatic areas.
4. This device should be used only for screening purposes, and
not to diagnose any medical conditions.

Troubleshooting
Safety and Maintenance
1. Clean the infrared sensor lens often with compressed air or
a moist cotton cloth. Never use a solvent or an abrasive
cleaner.
2. The exterior housing (plastic parts only) can be cleaned with
soap and water on a damp sponge or disinfectant wipe. Do
not submerge the device or let water get into the interior.
3. Remove the batteries when cleaning the device.
4. Remove the batteries before long term storage.
5. Do not operate the NCIT100 in explosive environments
containing flammable liquids, gases or dust.
6. Please dispose of the batteries properly according to your
local regulations for battery disposal.
7. Keep out of reach of children and pets.
8. Do not modify the device in any way.

Instrucciones de operación
Para cambiar la unidad de medición, abra el compartimento de la
batería y mueva el interruptor dentro del compartimento a la posición
°F o °C.
Para instalar las baterías, abra el compartimento de la
batería, instale 2 baterías "AAA" respetando la
polaridad de la etiqueta, y luego cierre la tapa del
compartimento hasta que se encastre.
Para tomar una medición de temperatura:
1. Apunte el termómetro infrarrojo (NCIT) al centro de la frente y
mantenga el NCIT perpendicular a la superficie de medición. La
distancia entre el NCIT y la frente debe ser entre 10 y 30 mm.
2. Presione y suelte el gatillo. Aparecerán guiones horizontales en
la pantalla con la palabra "SCAN" debajo de ellos.
3. No mueva el NCIT de esa posición hasta que aparezca la lectura
en la pantalla. La lectura debe aparecer en menos de 2 segundos
con la palabra "HOLD" debajo de ella.
4. Dependiendo de la lectura, el color de la pantalla cambiará a
verde, amarillo o rojo y la unidad emitirá un pitido una, dos o
tres veces respectivamente para alertar al usuario en caso de
temperaturas elevadas.

5. Repita este proceso para cada medición de temperatura. Al
tomar varias temperaturas seguidas, si la pantalla parece estar
congelada con la última lectura, espere unos segundos y
presione el gatillo nuevamente. Esto debería iniciar la medición.
Notas de operación
1. El NCIT100 indica la temperatura oral equivalente en base en
una medición de la piel de la frente. Las fuentes externas, como
temperaturas ambiente extremas o actividad física, pueden
alterar las mediciones. Mantenga el NCIT y el sujeto en el mismo
ambiente durante al menos 30 minutos para estabilizar el
dispositivo antes de la medición. Pueden ser necesarias varias
mediciones para determinar una referencia precisa de
temperatura corporal.
2. Asegúrese de que la frente no esté cubierta por nada. Los
sombreros, el cabello, el sudor u otras obstrucciones pueden

Diagnóstico de fallas
Seguridad y mantenimiento
1. Limpie la lente del sensor infrarrojo a menudo con aire
comprimido o un trapo de algodón húmedo. Nunca use un
solvente o un limpiador abrasivo.
2. La carcasa exterior (solo piezas de plástico) se puede limpiar
usando una esponja húmeda con agua y jabón o con una toallita
desinfectante. No sumerja el dispositivo ni permita que entre
agua en su interior.
3. Saque las baterías cuando no limpie el dispositivo.
4. Saque las baterías antes del guardarlo por mucho tiempo.
5. No use el NCIT100 en entornos explosivos que contengan
