Quick Installation Guide

Installation
1. Preparation
Use the drilling template to mark where the Bracket is to be mounted on the
wall. If necessary, pre-drill the holes and insert the plugs.
2. Determine ber ingress location
The rear of the FiberTwist Bracket offers a choice of three ber ingress
locations as shown circled in red on the photo below.
If opting for either the top or side ingress point, punch out the
plastic blank.

Care and Safety
• Never look directly into the end of a
bre optic cable.
• Indoor use only.
• Never expose to or immerse in water.
• The device can be cleaned by wiping it
with a soft, dry cloth.
This product must not be
disposed of in your normal
household waste. Please take it
to your regular electronic waste
collection and recycling location.

3.2. Remove the dust cap from one end of the patch cord. If your patch cord
has a connector with a short boot, make sure you remove the cap from
the end with the short boot.
3.3. Plug the patch cord into the connector.

3. Attach patch cord
Remove the green connector from the bracket.
Caution: The following three steps must be completed in
quick succession. Failure to do so will cause a degradation
in optical signal quality.
3.1. Take the dust cap off the top end of the connector. This is the end with
the silver metal band as illustrated below.

4.2. Depending on which ber ingress port was chosen, run the patch cord
through the ber management system in the appropriate fashion.
It is important to run the ber as shown below in order to avoid sharp bends
that will cause signal degradation.

4. Place connector and patch cord back in bracket
Insert the connector back in the Bracket and run the patch cord through the
bre management system.
4.1. Replace connector
Stop: There is only one way to put the connector back in
the bracket. Make sure the silver tab (circled in red below)
is pointing towards the centre of the Bracket and the bre
is pointing towards the top of the Bracket.

5. Attach to wall
Using the supplied screws, afx the Bracket to a at wall. Make sure the front
side of the Bracket is facing you as shown below.
Warning: Make sure the bre passes through the egress
port cleanly and doesn’t get pinched between the edge of
the Bracket and the wall.
6. Finishing
Complete the installation by removing the remaining dust cap from the
connector (as shown circled below) and immediately installing the FiberTwist
Network Termination Unit.
