HOW TO USE THE GEORGE FOREMAN LEAN
MEAN FAT REDUCING GRILLING MACHINE
Preparingyou new‘George ForemanGrilling Machine’for firstuse.
1. Removeanypackagingandlabelsfromtheappliance.Wipeovertheexterior
andthecookingplateswithadampclothtoremoveanydust.Placethegrilling
machineonastable,level,heat-resistantsurfaceinawellventilatedarea.Plugthe
powercordintoapowersocket,switchitOnandallowtoheatupfor5minutes.
WhenusingyourGrillingMachineforthefirsttimetheunitmayemitafinesmoke
vapourandscent.Thisisnormalandiscausedbythefirstheatingofthenew
elementsandnewcookingplates.SwitchOff,allowittocooldownandgivethe
cookingplatesanotherwipeoverwithadampcloth.
2. Next,to‘condition’yourgrillingmachine,applyalightcoatingofcookingoilto
thecookingplatesandrubinwithakitchentowelorpapertowel.Donotuselow
fatoilsasthesecanburnontothecookingplates.SwitchOnandallowtoheatup
for5minutes.Switchoffandallowtocooldown.Givetheplatesafinalwipeover
tocompletetheprocedure.Yournew‘GeorgeForemanGrillingMachine’isnow
‘conditioned’andreadyforuse.
3. Placeyourgrillingmachineonastable,level,heat-resistantsurfaceawayfromany
combustiblematerialsandoverhangingcurtains.Plugthepowercordintoapower
socket,switchitOnandallowittoheatup.
4. Slidethegreasecatchingdriptrayunderthefrontoftheunit.
5. Withtheplasticspatula,carefullyplacetheitemstobecookedonthebottom
grillingplate.
6. Closethelid.Thehingewillbearticulated.NBThegrillplatesshouldberoughly
paralleltoavoidunevencooking.Thehingehasafloatingdesignforevencooking,
pleasedonotthinkthisisafaultyhinge.Cookingtimesdependontype,thickness
andvolumeoffood.
7. Allowthefoodtocookforthedesiredtime.ConsulttheRecipeSectionattheback
ofthisbookforsomesuggestions.Donotleaveapplianceunattendedduringuse!
8. Monitorthecookingprocesstoensurefoodisfullycookedanddoesnotburn.
9. Whenfinished,switchoffatthepoweroutletanddisconnecttheplugfromthe
wallsocket.
10. Useapotholdertocarefullyopenthelid.
11. Removethefoodusingtheplasticspatulaprovided.Besuretoalwaysuseeither
plastictongsorwoodenutensilssoasnottoscratchthenon-sticksurface.Never
usemetaltongs,forksorknivesasthesecandamagethecoatingonthegrilling
plates.
12. Whencooked,thedriptraymayberemovedandemptied.Besuretheliquidis
cooledbeforeremovingdriptray.
13. Whenfinished,switchoffatpoweroutlet,disconnectplugfromwallsocketand
allowtocoolbeforecleaning.

USER MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS
CAUTION:Toavoidaccidentalburns,alwaysallowyourGrillingMachine
tocoolbeforecleaning.
1. Beforecleaning,switchoffatthepoweroutlet,unplugtheGrillingMachinefrom
thewallsocketandallowtocool.
2. InsideCleaning:PlacethedriptrayunderthefrontoftheGrillingMachine.Using
thespeciallydesignedspatula,scrapeoffanyexcessfatandfoodparticles.Wipe
theplateswiththeGEORGEFOREMANGRILLSPONGE,oracleandampcloth.Run
offwilldripintothedriptray.
3. StubbornBuildup:UseawetGRILLSPONGEtowipetheplateswhilethegrilling
machineisstillsomewhatwarm.
4. Emptythedriptrayandcleanwithwarmsoapywater.Wipedry.
5. OutsideCleaning:Wipewithawarm,dampspongeanddrywithasoft,
drycloth.
6. Donotusesteelwool,scouringpadsorharshorabrasivecleanersonanypartof
thegrillingmachine.Takeextracarewiththenon-stickcookingsurface.Useonly
yourspeciallydesignedGEORGEFOREMANGRILLSPONGEwhichisnon-scratch
andhasspeciallydesignedgroovestofitthegrill.
7. DONOTIMMERSEINWATEROROTHERLIQUID.
8. Makesuretoholdthetopcover(lid)byhandwhilecleaningtopreventaccidental
closingandinjury.
9. Anyservicingrequiringdisassemblyotherthantheabovecleaningmustbe
performedbythemanufactureronly.
