2.0 Important information
2.1 Shutdown procedure
Always follow this shutdown procedure when cleaning the machine or doing
maintenance.
1. Switch the frequency unit on / off switch to the off position
2. Disconnect the machine’s power chord
2.2 Destoner service
Your Giesen destoner machine will need maintenance every year. This can be done
by yourself or a Giesen service mechanic who has been trained. When you require
our services you can contact us by sending an email to [email protected] or call us
at [phone].
2.3 Products
Giesen destoners are intended and produced for the sole purpose of destoning
roasted coffee beans. No other products shall be processed in the machine, since
this can lead to fire, explosions or other dangerous situations.
2.4 Usage
The Giesen destoners are designed and meant for the sole purpose of separating
stones and debris from roasted coffee beans. Giesen destoners can only be used for
the ordered and confirmed purposes. Giesen destoners can only be used under the
application conditions as described in the instruction manual. Giesen destoners
can’t be used outside of the corresponding limits.
2.5 Responsibility of the user
Giesen destoners will be used in industrial circumstances. That is why the user of
the machine is subject to the legal requirements concerning health and safety at
work. Next to the safety and health precautions the safety regulations, accident
prevention regulations and environment regulations must be strictly upheld.

3.0 How to use
To ensure the best performance of the Giesen destoners we recommend the
following operating instructions.
3.1 How to start destoning with empty reservoir
1. Place the destoner at the exit of the cooling tray and the destoning process can
begin.
2. Turn on the frequency unit by using the on / off switch (bottom switch)
3. Press the ‘RUN’ button
4. Use the rotary knob to select your preferred frequency. We advise to use the 38
frequency as a reference point, which you of course can deviate from
5. Release a small amount of coffee from the cooling sieve into the destoner
hopper
6. Carefully open the hopper slide. This will allow the beans to come through and
will start up the flow of coffee beans

7. After destoning all the beans, empty the debris container containing the
separated stones and debris. The machine is now ready to destone another
batch of coffee
3.2 How to start destoning with full reservoir
1. Turn on the frequency unit by using the on / off switch (bottom switch)
2. Press the ‘RUN’ button
3. Use the rotary knob to select your preferred frequency. We advise to use the 38
frequency as a reference point, which you of course can deviate from
4. Wait until the destoner motor is up to speed. When you don’t do this the
machine may stall. When this happens, please read paragraph 1.3
5. Carefully open the hopper slide. This will allow the beans to come through and
will start up the flow of coffee beans

3.3 How to Restart your clogged machine
Because of the coffee beans’ size and shape differences in combination with the air
circulation it may sometimes occur that the coffee beans in the machine will
accumulate which will clog up the sieve. Unfortunately this cannot always be
prevented. Stirring up the beans will most of the time be the remedy to restart the
coffee flow. When the sieve is filled up to the bottom of the machine, the procedure
will be as following:
1. Turn off the motor (red button)
2. Close the hopper slider
3. Place a container underneath the machine
4. Remove the sieve
5. Empty the sieve
6. Re-attach the sieve
7. Put the beans that you collected in the container back in the machine’s hopper
8. Restart the destoning procedure as described in paragraph 1.2
