Sensor Slew & Height (Mul)
Quick Start Guide
Key Switch Posions

Operaonal
Turn the key switch to the straight posion.
This puts the system into the Operaonal Mode. While in this
mode, both Slew and Height Limits are acve.
Service Menu or Calibraon Mode
Turn the key switch to the right posion to access Override, Set
Limits and Service Area.
From this menu, both Slew and Height limits can be set and/or
adjusted. Also, the system can be overridden if required.
The Service Area is passcode protected.
Travel Mode
Turn the key switch to the le posion to enable Travel Mode.
While in Travel Mode, both Slew and Boom controls are locked, but
travel is allowed (depending on oponal Travel Inhibit valve).

Sensor Slew & Height monitors the slew posion of the machine by
means of counng of the slew teeth and also monitors the posion
of the front end equipment (Boom and Dipper) to allow the safe use
of the machine while under obstacles.
This quick start guide takes you through seng both Slew and
Height limits as well as the operaonal mode of the system.
It also covers the Safety Check procedure for checking the slew
moon cut valves.
When the system powers up, and displays the GKD logo, press the
OK buon to enter the operaonal mode. Arrow Keys

Turn the Key Switch to the Set Limits posion and
select the Set Slew Limits opon.
Slew the machine to the required posion and
press the CW or CCW buon.
Slew to the next limit posion. If you are too close
to the rst posion, then the warning message,
shown below, will appear.
When at the posion of the second limit, press the
OK push buon to conrm it. Both limits are saved
as indicated on the display. The safe zone stays
green and the restricted zone will turn to red.
Operaonal Mode - Sensor Slew
With the key switches in the straight posion (Operaonal Mode), the
operaonal screen will appear.
The ellipse represents the area around the machine.
The green part is the safe zone where the operator slews the machine.
The red secon is the restricted zone.

Safety Check
On the system start up, the crossed digger icon and warning triangle icon
indicate that the safety check procedure needs to be done. This process is
required in every 4 hour operang cycle. This is to conrm that the Hydraulic
Valves are funconing correctly.
Press the push buon F4, to the icon to proceed with safety check.
The yellow arrow indicates the direcon to slew
unl the corresponding valve cut o. When the
movement is disabled, conrm that slew stopped
by pressing the OK push buon.
Then connue with the other direcon.
Conrm again when the movement is disabled.
Upon the successful safety check the Pass message
will appear.
Escape from the safety check mode, back to the
operaonal mode, by pressing on F1.
Override
The slew and height limits in this mode are overridden, so the operator can rotate and li the arm freely
without any restricon. The external beacon (if ed) will ash to indicate this state.

Seng a Height Limit by capturing the machine posion
Turn the Key Switch to the Set Limits posion and
select the Set Limits opon.
Select Height Limit.
Raise the arm to the required limit posion and
press OK buon to set.
Press F4 key buon to delete the exisng limit and
set the limit again.
Press Manual to enter the height limit, in meters.
The Set limit value screen will appear as below.
Use the arrow keys to enter the required height.
Seng a Height Limit by manually entering the height
Turn the Key Switch to the Set Limits posion and
select the Set Height Limit opon.
Conrm the required value in meters by pressing
OK buon.
Press Back buon, the following screen will appear.
Operaonal Mode - Sensor Height (Mul)
If Sensor Height (Mul) is acvated then this screen will appear.
When the height limit is reached, the external audible sounder is switched
on to warn the operator and the relevant valve cut o to disable any further
upwards movement. Any movements down or away from the limit will be
allowed.
When both the Sensor Slew and Sensor Height (Mul) are acvated, the operaon screen will combine
both the ellipse and bar.
The Slew Safety Check procedure will also need to be followed at start-up with the Sensor Slew & Height
(Mul) Combined, as well as aer every 4 hour operang cycle.

Operaonal Mode - Sensor Height and Depth (Mul)
If Sensor Height and Depth (Mul) is acvated then this screen will appear.
When the depth limit is reached, the external audible sounder is switched on
to warn the operator and the relevant valve cut o to disable any further
downwards movement. Any movements up and away from the limit will be
allowed.
Seng a Depth Limit by capturing the machine posion
Turn the Key Switch to the Set Limits posion and
select the Set limits Limit opon.
Select Depth Limit.
Raise the arm to the required limit posion and
press OK buon to set.
Press F4 key buon to delete the exisng limit and
set the limit again.
Press Manual to enter the depth limit, in meters.
Seng a Depth Limit by manually entering the depth
Conrm the required value in meters by pressing
OK buon.
Press Back buon, the following screen will appear.
When both the Sensor Slew, Height and Depth (Mul) are acvated, the operaon screen will combine
both the ellipse and bar.
The Slew Safety Check procedure will also need to be followed at start-up with the Sensor Slew, Height

Seng a Cab Protecon Limit by capturing bucket pin posion
Operaonal Mode - Sensor Height, Depth with Cab (Mul)
If Cab Protecon is enable, then this screen will appear.
When the Cab Protecon limit is reached, the external audible sounder is
switched on to warn the operator and the relevant valve cut o to disable
any further downwards or inwards movements. Any movements up and
away from the limit will be allowed.
Turn the Key Switch to the Set Limits posion and
select the Set limits Limit opon.
Select Cab Limit.
Raise the arm to the required limit posion and
press OK buon to set.
Press F4 key buon to delete the exisng limit and
set the limit again.
Press Manual to enter the depth limit, in meters.
Seng a Cab Protecon Limit by manually entering the minimum distance to cab
When both the Sensor Slew, Height and Depth (Mul) are acvated, and Cab Protecon is enabled,
the operaon screen will combine both the ellipse and bar.
The Slew Safety Check procedure will also need to be followed at start-up with the Sensor Slew, Height
and Depth (Mul) Combined, as well as aer every 4 hour operang cycle.
The Set limit value screen will appear as below.
Use the arrow keys to enter the required depth.
