ZIGBOAT™ GATEWAY PRO

Product description
The Gateway is the core module of the ZigBoat™ PRO system with built-in 3G SIM card slot and battery bac -up. This
allows the connected sensors to send ush notifications and SMS text messages when an event occurs. (SIM Card is not
included).
Precautions
Kee the IMEI and Serial number codes in a safe lace. These two codes are in the blister ackaging.
Getting started
1. Before you read this a endix, lease read the ZigBoat™ owner’s manual.
IMPORTANT: If your Cellular rovider uses Pin Codes with their SIM cards, they must be deactivated before use.
NOTE: Make sure the gateway is turned off, before inserting the Micro USB SIM Card in the slot.
2. Insert the Micro SIM Card into the SIM slot located on the underside of the Gateway.
3. Turn on the Gateway and wait a few minutes.
NOTE: Make sure the Gateway is turned on and configurated correctly, for more details see the Gateway owner’s
manual.
SMS notifications
1. O en the ZigBoat™ A and select the Gateway in the “ZB Gateways” menu. Wait a few seconds, then select
the menu button on the to right (fig. 1) and then select the “SMS” tab (fig. 2).
1. To receive the SMS notifications, ty e the hone number of your mobile device with the country code (001 or
+1 for international numbers or 1 for US numbers). You can also add the name for the hone number (o tional)
and choose the SMS language (available languages: English, Italian, French, German and S anish) (fig. 3).
2. To remove a hone number, click on the “X” next to the number.
NOTE: If you wish to receive SMS notifications on a NON-US hone number, lease verify with your carrier if
this o tion is ossible.

NOTE: You can add a maximum of 5 hone numbers to receive SMS text messages.
3. To enable SMS notifications for sensor, ress the “Enable” button under each sensor. To disable the SMS
notifications, click on the “Disable” button. (fig. 4)

How to setup internet connections
If the Micro SIM Card is enabled for text and data connection service, you can use the ZigBoat™ gateway to connect
to the internet and receive ush notifications through the ZigBoat™ A . The Gateway will also send SMS text
messages to the hone numbers that were added in the a .
1. In the “SMS” tab, ty e the correct APN (fig. 5)
NOTE: The APN de ends both on carrier and data lan. Check for the correct APN with the cellular rovider of
the SIM Card
2. Click on “Set APN” and wait a few seconds. (fig. 5)

The ZigBoat™ PRO is com atible with the AT&T and T-Mobile networks.
Frequenc bands:
3G bands: 850MHz, 1900MHz
Batter Back-up
The built-in battery back-u allows the ZigBoat™ PRO to work in case of ower failure.
NOTE: The ZigBoat™ PRO works u to a roximately 4 hours without direct ower su lied (if the internal battery is
charged). The amount of time is de endent on several conditions and can vary, such as:
•environmental conditions
•battery charge status
Settings
The battery back-u is enabled by default. To check the battery status, select the Menu button, on the to right corner
(Fig. 6), then select the Settings tab (fig. 7) and then select the Battery Back-u tab (fig. 8).

This menu will let you know if the battery is charging, the ower source (External ower source or internal battery),
and the internal battery voltage.
If the ZigBoat™ PRO is owered by external ower, you can reboot the gateway by selecting the reboot button (fig. 9).
If the ZigBoat™ PRO is owered by the internal battery, the Reboot button is re laced by the “Power off” button (fig.
10).

IMPORTANT: Selecting the “Power off” button will turn off the ZigBoat™ PRO. To turn the ZigBoat™ PRO back on, you
must un lug the ower cable and then lug it back into the ZigBoat™ PRO. In case of ower failure, you must wait for
ower to return to the boat.
