MIP-1800 OPERATINGINSTRUCTIONS
OPERATINGINSTRUCTIONS:
1.Press releaselever(Key#13)topushthepusherbar(Key
#3)all thewaybacktothebodyofthetool.
2.Pull strappingfromcartandbringaround load.Pushseal
onwithflatsideofsealfacing outsideofstrap. (Figure1)
3.Slideendofstrapthroughbottomofsealandfoldoverthe
endtoforma“hook.”(Figure2)Pull strapsnugabout
package.
4.Slidetoolontotopstrap, feedingstrapunderholdingdog
(Key#8)andthroughpusherbarslot(Key#3)withthe
sealagainstthenoseofthetool.(Figure3)Besurethe
strapisflushwiththeinsideedgeoftheMIP-1800.
5.Tightenstrapby squeezingandreleasingthetension
handle(Key#16)repeatedly.
6.Fastenthepushersealwiththeappropriatetool, according
tomanufacturer’s instructions.
7.Withsealsecured,tilt thewholetoolforwardovertheseal
andbackagainapproximatelythree times tobendand
breakthebanding. SlidetheMIP-1800offtheendofthe
strapping.

Beforeoperatingthetool,reviewtheenclosed
MIP,Inc. GeneralHandTools andStrappingSafety
booklet. OnlytrainedpersonnelshouldoperateMIP, Inc.
handtools.
Onlyuseequipmentrecommendedforthestrap.TheMIP-
1800is recommendedonlyfor3/8”x.015through5/8”x
.023 gaugesteel.
Dangerous breakagemayoccurduetoexcessive
tensioning,possiblyresultinginsevereinjuryordeath.
Tensionstrapinmoderation.
Keepfingersawayfromareasthatcanpinchorcut.
Reviewtheinstructions andsafetymaterialonaregular
basis.
Warning: Unsafeusemayresult inblindness, severe
