tain about any aspect of the installation, consult a qualified electrician.

2. GENERAL
• This Ultium PowerUP+ Charge Station is designed for charging of Electrical Vehicles (EVs) only. See the vehicle
owner's manual for more information.
• Remember to save the Bluetooth® pairing code, this is required to connect the unit to the mobile app. The last six
numbers of the Bluetooth® pairing code can be found on the rear and bottom of the Ultium PowerUP+ Charge
Station.
• NOTE: Unless paired via Bluetooth®the Ultium PowerUP+ Charge Station will operate at 6 Amp ONLY.
Operating amperage can be changed via the GM MyBrand / Ultium app.

2.3 MOBILE APP
GM has a range of mobile applications that can be used with the Ultium PowerUP+ Charge Station, which include:
myBuick myCadillac myChevrolet myGMC Ultium PowerUP
Use the appropriate brand app associated with you vehicle for full app functionality, including WIFI connectivity and
setting the operating amperage. In case you do not have a GM vehicle but use a Ultium PowerUP+ Charge Station, use
the Ultium PowerUP app.
NOTE: The GM Vehicle app will be referred to as the ‘My Brand App’ throughout this user documentation.

3. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
• !WARNING:When installing the Ultium PowerUP+ Charge Station, keep the location of the vehicles charging port
in mind so that the charging cable can reach. Mount the cable wall mount near the charging port for ease of use.
• !WARNING:For equipment rated more than 60 Amperes or more than 150 volts to ground, the disconnecting
means must be installed in a readily accessible location. The disconnecting means shall be lockable in accordance with
NFPA 70, 110.25.
• !CAUTION: The Ultium PowerUP+ Charge Station location must be safe and adequate, to avoid any hazards.
• !CAUTION: This device shall be mounted at a sufficient height from ground such that the height of the
storage means for the coupling device is located between 24 inches (600mm) and 4 feet (1.2m) from ground.
NOTE: for indoor use, 24 inches (600mm) can be changed to 18 inches (460mm).
• !CAUTION: This device requires a hardwire installation and must be performed by a certified electrician ONLY.
• !CAUTION: If the Ultium PowerUP+ Charge Station is damaged during installation, stop the installation, and contact
the company (refer to SUPPORT section or further information).
• !CAUTION: Make sure the installation of the unit obeys any mandatory local rules, permits and laws.
• !CAUTION: Make sure to have approval from the property owner or condo association for the installation.
• !CAUTION: Make sure stainless-steel fasteners are used for all mounting installations.
• !CAUTION: Unless paired via Bluetooth®the Ultium PowerUP+ Charge Station will operate at 6 Amp ONLY.
Operating amperage can be changed via the GM MyBrand / Ultium app.

3.1 WALL-MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS
The included screws are for convenience and can only be used on wooden surfaces. They can also be used on concrete if
used with concrete-wall anchors.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
!CAUTION: Make sure a surface that is appropriate for the weight of the Ultium PowerUP+ Charge Station is chosen and
that the correct screws are used for the intended surface and that the unit is safely mounted on the wall before using the unit.
If there is uncertanty of which surface is appropriate or which screws are suitable for the application, contact a specialist to
seek advice.
This device shall be mounted at a sufficient height from ground such that the height of the storage
means for the coupling device is located between 24 inches (600mm) and 4 feet (1.2m) from ground.
NOTE: for indoor use, 24 inches (600mm) can be changed to 18 inches (460mm).
Installing a padlock is recommend to prevent theft. Padlock not included.
1. Unscrew the four screws including the security nut
(highlighted) to access the charge station wall
mount, keep the screws (see step 3).
3.1.1 MOUNTING THE ULTIUM POWERUP+ CHARGE
STATION
2. Mount the charging station wall mount to the
intended surface, using the screws provided (where
applicable).
Note: a drilling template is provided to assist
installation.

3. Reattach the Ultium PowerUP+ Charge Station on
the wall mount using the previously removed screws
from Step 1.
If a padlock has been purchased, secure the unit by
locking the padlock on the security nut.
1. Unscrew the two screws at the bottom to access the
mounting plate, keep the screws.
3.1.2 MOUNTING THE CABLE WALL MOUNT
3. Reattach the cable wall mount on the mounting
bracket using the previously removed screws (see
step 1).
2. Mount the mounting bracket to the intended surface,
using the screws provided (where applicable).
Note: a drilling template is provided to assist
installation.

1. Remove the two screws located at the end of the
front cover (keep the screws for reassembly) →
Remove the front cover.
3.2 HARDWIRE INSTALLATION
2. Remove the two service lid screws (keep the screws
for reassembly) → Remove the service lid using
pliers and pull on the tabs as shown.
!WARNING:IMPORTANT - Hardwire installation can be performed by certified electricians ONLY.
!CAUTION: Use 3 AWG, 90° C copper wire for L1, L2 and 8 AWG 90° C copper wire for Ground for field wiring
installation.
A hardwire installation is required to permanently wire the Ultium PowerUP+ Charge Station to the main incoming supply.
3. Remove the four screws and washers that secure
the cable clamp → Remove the cable clamp (keep
screws, washers and cable clamp for reassembly).
NOTE: Components may have been removed for image clarity.
4. Remove the blind plug from the opening for the
hardwire installation by loosening the securing nut.
NOTE: Components may have been removed for image clarity.

5. Fit the o-ring (1) and conduit adapter (2) sup-
plied in the tool kit. Make sure a suitable 1” water
tight conduit (3) compliant to type 4X is used (not
supplied) → Push the new (round) cable through the
conduit.
NOTE: For illustration purposes only.
6. Secure the newly installed cable gland and conduit
→ Refit the cable clamp assembly (from Step 3).
NOTE: Components may have been removed for image clarity.
7. Install the cables in the terminals and tighten the
terminal screws as below.

1 L1 5 ft/lbs (7 Nm)
2 L2 5 ft/lbs (7 Nm)
3 GROUND 2.5 ft/lbs (3.5 Nm)
8. Re-attach the service lid with its two screws and
tighten them to 0.7 ft/lbs (1 Nm).
9. Re-attach the front cover with its two screws and
tighten them to 0.7 ft/lbs (1 Nm). The hardwire
installation is now finished.

10. To continue set-up of the Ultium PowerUP+ Charge
Station, refer to ‘5. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS’
to do the following:
- Switching the charge station circuit breaker on/off
- Pairing to Bluetooth®
- Downloading the GM MyBrand / Ultium app
- Setting-up a GM user account
- Charging an EV
NOTE FOR INSTALLATION ELECTRICIAN:
Make sure the correct operating amperage
has been set via the end users GM MyBrand /
Ultium app after set-up and pairing to the Ultium
PowerUP+ Charge Station (default operating
amperage 6 Amp).
