Operating your Dehumidifier
Warning: Before placing in the oven for re-
activation, inspect the egg completely for any
cracks or damage.
The Dehumidifying Egg will heat up (this is normal)
during the re-activation process. During the process
there may be some hissing sounds created by the
escaping water vapour, (this is normal too). When
the drying process is complete, the humidity indicator
will turn BLUE, indicating the Egg is ready to use
again. Reposition the Dehumidifier on its base and
place in the desired location for use.
WARNING: The Egg will be extremely hot after re-
activation, wait at least 10 minutes before
handling or replacing the sealing pad.
Depending on the level of moisture in the area, a fully
charged unit will last on average 20-30 days before
recharge will be required (results will vary depending
on the level of humidity).
SAFETY
•Ensure there are no cracks or damage.
•If the Egg is damaged, discard immediately, do
not put in the microwave or oven for re-activation.
•Avoid direct contact with water.
•Do not drop or dismantle the Dehumidifying Egg.
•Do not re-activate when the indicator is blue.
•Do not leave in the oven for more than the
recommended time.
CARE AND CLEANING
If needed, clean the Dehumidifier with a soft cloth.
Do not immerse in water.
Use a damp cloth (not wet) to wipe the exterior of the
Dehumidifier to remove dust and dirt.
Never use solutions such as benzene, thinners or
polishing agents.
Ensure the Dehumidifier is dry and cooled before re-
use.
WARNING
The Dehumidifier will not work if the sealing pad is
not in the Egg.
PROOF OF PURCHASE
To receive warranty retain receipt as proof of
purchase. (Refer to back of booklet).
HOW DEHUMIDIFYING EGG WORKS
Made from multi-porous ceramic material each Egg
contains moisture-absorbing granules. The granules
have an absorption rate much higher than traditional
soluble humidity absorbing products. The moisture-
absorbing granules in this product are colourless,
odourless and non-toxic.
This product is specifically designed to remove
undesired moisture in the air, that may cause mildew.
It can be placed in wardrobes, closets, shoe racks,
and shelves etc.
Humidity Indicator:
(on the sides of the egg)
Blue indicates dry =ready for use
Pink Indicates wet = re-activate.
This unit will not re-release moisture back into the air
until it is re-activated.
HOW TO RE-ACTIVATE
The Dehumidifying Egg can be re-activated in a
microwave oven or a conventional oven. Remove the
egg from its base before putting it in the oven.
Remove the sealing pad by turning the Egg upside
down, being careful to avoid the granules falling out.
Place the Egg in a ceramic or other oven-safe mug
(see picture).
Microwave oven: Heat the Egg on Medium (600W)
for 10 minutes.
Conventional oven: Preheat oven to 150oC. Heat for
30 minutes.
Always choose a safe location for the Dehumidifier, keeping in mind the
safety precautions outlined. Ensure all packaging has been removed from
the unit before use. This product requires no installation, it should be used
solely as a portable product.
