PRE FITTED MAINS PLUGS
For your convenience a mains plug with a fuse has been fitted to this appliance. For your
safety please observe the following information.
1. Should the fuse fail in the plug remove the plug from the wall socket and replace the fuse
with a 3 Amp ASTAapproved to BS1362 fuse.
2. Never use the plug without the fuse cover fitted. Replacement fuse covers are available
from your dealer or most electrical retail outlets.
3. If the mains plug is out off from the cable, rewire the replacement plug in accordance with
the instruction given in this manual.
4. CAUTION: Under no circumstances should the discarded plug be inserted into the mains
socket. to prevent a shock hazard remove the fuse and carefully dispose of the discarded
plug. do not leave the plug lying around where children might see it.

the terminals in the plugs as follow:

Only a 3 Ampfuse should be fitted in the plug or a
5 Ampfuse at the distribution board.

INTRODUCTION
Remove the battery compartment cover.
Load two AAA(UM-4 or R03) batteries into the
battery compartment.
Make sure that the batteries have been inserted
in the correct polarities matching to the symbols
+, - marked in the battery compartment. Close
the battery compartment cover.
When replacing batteries, replace both batteries.
Do not mix new and used batteries operating
together, otherwise, the operation lifetime will
be much shorter than normal.
Remove the batteries if the unit will not be used
for a prolonged period of time.

sunlight or a strong artificial light (fluorescent
or strobe light). In this case, change the
direction of thelight or repositionthe unit to
avoid direct lighting.

About DVD
DVD (Digital Versatile Disc) is a digital video medium under
the MPEG IIformat, featuring a variety of revolutionary
entertainment capabilities. The MPEG II video compression
technology provides capacityfor an excellent picture of
minimum 500 linesresolution on screen, up to 8 language
soundtracks, up to9 views from different camera angles and
up to 32language subtitles (provided the DVD disc itself
supports these features).

on production ofthe disc. Below are some of the
symbols representing thefeatures:

Some features contained inthis DVD player arerelated to the DVDdisc's
software.
Some features cannot beperformed if the discdoes not support thefeature,
or requires special settings.
Check the features printedon the disc's packingor follow the instructions
of the Disc's onscreen menu.
Care of disc
Hold the discwith fingers. Hold the disc's outer edge
and/or the centerspindle hole. Do not touch the disc
surface.
Do not bendor press the disc. Do NOTexpose the disc
to direct sunlightor heating sources.
Store discs incabinet vertically, in dry condition.
Prevent exposure to:
Direct sunlight
Heat or exhaust from a heating device.
Extreme humidity.
Clean the discsurface with a soft, dry cleaning cloth.
Wipe the discsurface gently, radically, from center
toward the outeredge.
Do not applythinner, alcohol chemical solvent, or sprays
when cleaning. Suchcleaning fluids will permanently
damage the discsurface.

amplifier, orexternal digital amplifier ( with Dolby
Digital 5.1 decoding).
Toconnect a stereo amplifier, connectingthe player's

When digital output isin use, enter theSETUP menu

Play a disc
DVD disc thatdoes not match the region code
cannot be executedby this player.
Return to thedisc main menu, press MENU buttonon the remote.
Prevent loading thedisc upside down.
NOTE
Switch on the player
Push the mainpower button to turn on the
DVD unit. Poweron the TV set and the
amplifier if connected.
Set up the system
Select the correspondingsetting of theTV set (AV1, AV2, etc.)
and the amplifier, until theDVD power on screen
appears.
Load a disc
Press OPEN button on theremote control (orfront panel) to
open the disctray. Load a disc and press OPEN to close the
disc tray.
(Note, place thedisc's label sideup, blank side down)
Automatic Play
The unit willtake a fewseconds to download the disc initial data, display the disc type logo in the left
upper corner ofthe TV screen, and then start playing automatically.
If a DVD Disc Menu appears on screen
Press PLAY button on theremote
(or on theunit) to start playing.
Press CURSOR buttons
to select the
desired feature
in the menu,
and then
press the ENTER button
to confirm aselection.

GETTING STARTED
Screen saver
The player isequipped with an automatic
screen saver,for the purpose of protecting
the TV screen.
The TV screen will be black and a screen
saver will appearon screen if :
No disc isloaded for 15 seconds
In STOP mode and no button has been
pressed for 15seconds.
(except in theplayer or disc menu)
When any buttonis pressed, the player will
resume to normalactive mode.
Production qualities of DVD discs vary, some discs might deviate
from the industrial standard. Some incorrectly formatted discs
may playback on the player. However, the playback and
operational quality of those discs may be substandard.

DVD discs mustbe labeled for ALL regions or
Region 2 inorder to play on this player.
You cannot play discs that are labeledfor other
regions and "Wrong Region" will be displayed.
When a DVDdisc of NOT correct TV system is
loaded or theTV set of NOT correct TV system
with the player, a distorted video signal may
come out onthe screen.

Disc menu isa DVD disc feature, allowing
users to selectfunctions on screen.
Disc title isthe beginning track of a DVDdisc.

GOTO functionality dependson different DVDdisc's format. SomeDVD discs do not allow GOTO function.
GOTO does NOTfunction during Program playback.
Press the GOTO button select GOTO mode.
