Chocolate Waes
Ingredients:
• 250g of plain our
• 35g of unsweetened cocoa powder
• 20g of caster sugar
• 270ml of milk
• 2 eggs
• 25ml of vegetable oil
• 1 teaspoon of vanilla essence
• 2 teaspoons of baking powder
•½ teaspoon of salt
The mixture will make approximately 6 large waes or 30 mini heart shaped waes.
Instructions:
1. Place the our, caster sugar, baking powder, cocoa powder and salt into a large mixing
bowl and mix thoroughly.
2. In a separate bowl beat together the eggs and milk.
3. Add the egg and milk mixture, as well as the vegetable oil and vanilla essence to all of
the dry ingredients and mix together thoroughly until all lumps have disappeared.
4. Pre-heat your Retro Diner Wae Maker by plugging the power lead into the mains
socket.
5. Spray both the bottom and top baking plates with a little spray oil. (This eliminates any
chance of your mixture sticking to the plates).
6. Use one ladle of your wae mixture and gently pour to the centre of the bottom
plate. The mixture will spread to the edges itself. DO NOT use more than one ladle of
mixture as it will expand with cooking and will damage the latch if overlled.
7. Close the lid (making sure that the latch is secure).
8. Leave for 6-8 minutes and check to see if your waes are cooked as per the
instructions on page 4. Once you are happy that your waes are cooked switch o
the machine by unplugging the power lead from the mains socket and leave to cool
down for a couple of minutes before removing with a wooden or plastic utensil.
9. You can now add your choice of favourite toppings.
