16 RUBBERFOAMSEALUSAGEANDSAFETY!Therubberfoamsealismadeoftwoparts:blackrubberfoamandredsiliconseal.Blackrubberfoamismostlyusedtocreateinitialvacuum.Afteritcompresses,theredsealholdsthelongestandstrongestseal.Aslongastheinitialsealisformedtogetsuction,the"strong"sealwillalsobeformed.Therubberfoamsealusespatentedtechnologyandisoneofthemaincomponentsofthetool.Itshouldbehandledwithcautionasitdirectlyimpactstheoverallperformanceandsafety.a.Thesealcanwithstandanestimated900compressioncycles,dependingonforceanddurationofcompression,withoutanydamage.b.Avoidrubbingthesealoverroughsurfaces.Sealmaterialisverypronetoparallelwear(movingparalleltoroughsurfaceinironingmotion).Liftperpendicularlyonveryroughsurfaces.Rubbingthesealoverasmoothsurfacesuchasgraniteinthepresenceofthickabrasives(thicksand)willdamagethesealandmaycauseunexpecteddetachment.c.Surfaceswithverysharpedgesshouldnotbeliftedinparallelhold.Edgessharperthan45degreesmaydamagethesealandleadtosuddenvacuumlossandsuddendetachment.Themotorshouldalwaysbeon.d.Alwaysstorethesealcoveredwithahardcover.Thesealcanbeeasilydamagedbysharpcornersandedgeswheninstorage.Thesealshouldnotbestoredwithanysharptoolsorincontactwithanyhardobjects(e.g.insideatoolbox).e.Donotdipthesealinwater.Therubberfoamsealisslightlywaterabsorbent.Unlessitisfullydippedinwaterandsoakingwet,slightlysoakingthesealwithwaterwillnotdamageitsperformance.Ifitissoakedinwater,itcanbesqueezedbyhandlikeaspongetodrywithoutdamage.Itisadvisabletouseadrysealtoavoidwatergettingsuckedintoairductsandinsidethebody.!Donotdiporusethesealinthepresenceofanyoil-basedproducts.Oilandoilproducts(machineoil+lubricants)willpermanentlydamagethesealandcannotberemoved.Ifthesealhasabsorbedanyoil,itshouldbedisposedofsafely,thebaseshouldbecleaned,andthesealreplaced.!Donotuseorstorethesealinthepresenceofchemicalsolvents.Kerosene,acetone,turpentine,benzene,acids,etc.andeventheirfumesinclosedspacesorthinlayersonsurfacescanmeltthesealanddamageitsstructureandcausefailure.ENNLDEFRESITSEDKARRUTR
