ThisOperationandSafetyManualhasbeenpreparedtointroduceyoutotheGrangeGRPL300Food
Processor.Itexplainstheoperation,cleaningandmaintenanceofthesefoodprocessorinsimple,clear
termsandwithanemphasisonyoursafety.
ThroughouttheManualproceduresaresupportedbyillustrationsshowingthepartsinvolvedandthe
recommendedsafemethodofhandlingthoseparts.
MakesurethatyoureadthisManualcarefullysothatyouarefamiliarwiththefeaturesandprocedures
thatareuniquetothesemachines.

particularcomponent.
•The“Power”warningagsTTherearetwopowerwarningags.Therst,alightningboltinsidean
upside-downtriangle,isusedwheneverwewanttoremindandwarnyouthatthemachineisconnected
tothemainspowersupply.Thesecondwarningagisacirclewiththeoutlineofa
lightningboltandablackbarthroughthebolt.Itappearstoremindyouthataparticular
proceduremustbecarriedoutwiththepowertothemachineturnedoffatthepower
pointandthemachine’spowerplugdisconnectedfromthepowerpoint.

TheGrangeGRL300FoodProcessorhasbeendesignedforhighvolumeuseinlargerrestaurants,
supermarketsanddelicatessens.
Conveniencefeaturesincludefastbladechangeanddualinletchuteswhichmakeforfastand
efcientslicingofanykindoffruitorvegetableinthebusiestenvironment.

Installingthefoodprocessor
Positioningthefoodprocessor
TheFoodProcessormustbemountedonaat,stablesurfacethatisstrongenoughtoholdtheweight
ofthemachine.Itisimportanttoensurethatthemachinecanbebotheasilyloadedandoperated,
andwerecommendabenchortableheightof800mmtoachievethis.
NomatterwhereyouputtheFoodProcessor,youmustallowatleastasmuchspaceastheoverall
dimensionsindicate.Allowinganadditionalminimumof30cmeithersideoftheFoodProcessorwill
makeaccessforcleaningandmaintenanceeasier.
TheFoodProcessorejectstheprocessedfoodthroughthelargechuteatthefrontofthemachine.Ensure
thatthereisenoughspaceonthebenchortabletoptoallowacollectioncontainertositunderneaththe
chute.Alternatively,andifspaceistight,theFoodProcessormaybepositionedwiththeejectionchuteout
overtheedgeofthebenchortableandacontainerplacedinfrontofthebenchandbelowthechute.This
optionisnotrecommendedasthereisconsiderablepotentialforcreatinganunsafeandunhygienicmess.
Cleaningandfunctioncheck
Beforeyouusethefoodprocessorwerecommendthatyouwipedownallexposedsurfaceswithasoft
cloththathasbeenplacedincleanwarmwaterandlightdetergentandsqueezeddry.
Thiswillremoveanytracesofmachineoil,dirtorgritpickedupduringmanufactureorstorage.
Beforeyouwipedownthemachine,makesurethatthepoweristurnedoffatthewall
socket/powerpoint.
Oncethefoodprocessoriscleanyoucancheckthatitisfunctioningcorrectly.
1.Switchonpowertothemachinefromthewallsocket/powerpoint.
2.Makesurethatthefoodprocessoristurnedoffatthepowerswitchonthe
sideofthemachine.
3.Openthefoodprocessorcoverbyturningtheknurledknob(locatedinfront
andtotherightoftheinputfeeder)anti-clockwiseuntilitreleases.
4.Raisethecoverandplacethesuppliedbladediskinfoodprocessor.
5.Closethecoverandsecureitbyturningtheknurledknobclockwiseuntilitistight.
6.Turnthefoodprocessoronusingthepowerswitchonthesideofthemachine.
Immediatelythechopperbladewillspininananti-clockwisedirection.
7.Turntheprocessoroffatthepowerswitch.

Operatingthefoodprocessor
Thingstokeepinmind
1.Onlyusethelargeorsmallplungersuppliedtopushthevegetablesintothechopper.
2.Therecommended,andonlysafewayofchangingbladesiswiththepower
switchedoffatthepowerpoint.
3.Applyasteadypressuretotheplungerwhenusingthefoodprocessor.
Suddenheavypressuremaycauseajamasthebladediscstrytodealwithtoo
muchfoodstuffbeingforcedintocontactwiththecuttingsurfaces.
4.DONOTplacefrozenfoodstuffs,orfoodstuffscontainingbones,inthemachine.
Thesewillonlydamagetheblades.
Standardoperation
1.Turnthecoversecuringknobanti-clockwiseandopenthecover.
2.Slidethechosencuttingdisk,orfordicingthedicingdiscfollowedbythechosencuttingdiscforthejob.
3.Closeandsecurethecoverbyturningthecoversecuringknobclockwise.
Thiswilldisengagethesafetycutoutandallowthemachinetorun.
4.PresstheON/OFFbuttonmomentarilytohookthediscintothecorrectposition.
5.Raisethefeederreduceronitsguidepostandswingitasidefromtheinletfeeder.Placefoodstuffinside
theinletfeeder,swingthereducerbackoverfeederandloweruntilitcomesincontactwiththefoodstuff.
Forsmallerfoodstuffs,simplyremovethesmallplungerfromthefeederreducer,insertthefoodstuff
inthethroatofthesmallerinlet,andreplacetheplunger.
6.TurnthemachineonusingtheON/OFFbutton.
7.Withyourlefthandlightlymovethefeederplungerdownwardsuntilfoodstuffisfullyprocessed.
Youmaycontinuetointroducemorefoodstuffbyliftingthehandleandplacingfoodstuffintotheinlet
chute.Themachinewillstartautomaticallywhenthehandleisclosed.
8.Repeatstep7asoftenasisrequired.
9.Whencuttingiscompleted,switchoffthepowerattheON/OFFbutton.
Changingorttinganewdisc
1.Makesurethatthemachineisswitchedoff.
2.Rotatethecoversecuringknob,andopenthecover.
3.Turnthediscanti-clockwiseandcoverthecuttingedgewithappropriatematerial(rubber,fabric,etc.)
thenliftitbysettingyourhandunderthedisc.Ifnodiscistted,gotoStep4.
4.Inserttheplasticejectingdiscandthenthechosendiscordisccombinationforthejob.
5.Closeandsecurethecoverusingthecoversecuringknob.PresstheON/OFFbuttontohookthedisc
intothecorrectposition.

GeneralCleaning
Thechopperhasbeendesignedandbuiltforefcientandspeedycleaningtoensurehygienicoperation.
Beforeusingthechopper
1.Beforethechopperisswitchedonforthersttimeeachday,quicklywipeoverall
exposedsurfaceswithacloththathasbeenplacedinwarmwaterandsqueezeddry.
Thisremovesanydustorothermatterthatmayhavebeendepositedovernight.
Aftereachmixingjob
1.Removethediscs,thegridforcuttingdicesandtheplasticejectordiscandwashthoroughly
inwarmwaterandmilddetergent.
2.Wipedownexposedportionsofthemachineandtheareawherethediscsrest,withacloththat
hasbeenplacedinwarmwaterandmilddetergentandsqueezeddry.Besuretocleanoffany
foodstuffthathasadheredtotheinsidetopofthemachinecoverandtheoutputchute.
Attheendoftheday
1.Afterthechopperhasbeenusedforthelasttime,turnthemachineoffatthepowerswitchandatthe
powerpoint,anddisconnectthepowercord.
2.Turnthecoversecuringknobanti-clockwisetoopenthecover,loosenthetwocoverrelease
knobsatthebacktoremovethecovercompletely.Washinwarmwaterandamilddetergent.
3.Removethediscs,thegridforcuttingdicesandtheplasticejectordiscandwashthoroughlyi
nwarmwaterandmilddetergent.
4.Withacloththathasbeenplacedinwarmwaterandmilddetergentandsqueezeddry,wipedown
allvisiblesurfaces,includingwherethecuttingdiscsrest.
How frequently the chopper is cleaned will depend on how heavily the machine is used.
