2. Safety and accident prevention rules
2.1. General safety instructions
These operating instructions were prepared so that you can work safely with the
equipment.
People who are not familiar with these instructions should not perform these actions.
Read these Operating Instructions thoroughly before use. Pay particular attention to the
safety instructions.
These Operating Instructions are intended for people with basic technical understanding of
the use of equipment such as that described here.
If you have no experience with such equipment, you should first get assistance from
experienced persons.
Keep all supplied documents with the equipment for future reference if required. Keep the
purchase receipt for any warranty claims.
If you lend or sell the equipment, supply all documentation with it.
Observe the operating and maintenance instructions found in this manual.
Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the equipment.
The equipment must not be used after consuming alcohol, medication that impairs the
ability to react or drugs.
This equipment is not intended for use by people (including children) with impaired mental
abilities and/or lack of experience and/or knowledge, unless they are supervised by a
person who is responsible for their safety or have received instructions from them.

The manufacturer does not accept any liability for damage resulting from failure to observe
these operating instructions.
The machine operator or user is responsible for accidents involving other people and for
damage to property.
The equipment is not suitable for lifting and pulling objects, persons or animals.
2.2. Precautionary measures
Always wear protective gloves when performing setup, maintenance and cleaning
work on the equipment, to prevent injury from sharp parts.
Wear tightly fitting protective gloves while working with and on the equipment.
Make sure you wear tight-fitting clothing that covers your entire body.
Before each use always perform a visual and a function check of the equipment to
identify damage and worn parts, and arrange for their repair by trained personnel
before use.
The equipment must not be put into operation with missing, damaged or worn
safety devices.
Do not give the equipment to anyone who is not familiar with this model and its
operation. Always include the operating instructions and all relevant documents.
Do not make any technical changes to the equipment.
Follow the maintenance and cleaning schedules prescribed by the manufacturer in chapter
6 “Maintenance”.
Maintenance and repair work may only be carried out by appropriately authorised persons.
Only use genuine spare and wear parts from Wilhelm Fricke SE for maintenance and repair.
3. Performance specifications
3.1. Intended use
!! ATTENTION!!
The tractor A-frame serves as a receptacle and holder for the implements with the equipment
A-frame for the front three-point linkage of tractors. Coupling and uncoupling from the driver’s
seat does not replace the inspection walk around the vehicle after coupling or uncoupling.
Furthermore, the tractor A-frame may not be used for any other work or tasks than those
specified above.
Please refer to chapter 3.2 “Technical data” of these operating instructions for the dimensions
and weights of the individual tractor A-frames.

If a tractor A-frame is used, the technical requirements for the carrier vehicle are derived
from the technical data as well as the intended area of use of the unit formed, and these can
be found in chapter 3.2 of these operating instructions and in the operating instructions for
the tractor.
Any use beyond this is not permitted and is considered as improper and may be
dangerous and may cause severe injuries as well as damage to objects and the
environment. UNFALLGEFAHR!
Any use beyond the intended use described here is not permitted and can lead to
extreme accident hazards with serious lasting consequences for people and the
environment, as well as damage to property. UNFALLGEFAHR!
All working and safety instructions given in this manual must always be read in conjunction
with the instructions in the operating instructions for the tractor and the implement.
3.2. Technical data
GRANIT index group 778 according to the attached list.
Mechanical connection to the carrier vehicle and loads according to the attached table (Table
1).
Do not use in potentially explosive environments.

4. Equipment description
4.1. Scope of delivery
Tractor A-frame partly assembled
Documentation consisting of an operating instructions for filing with the operating
instructions of the carrier vehicle.
4.2. Description and individual parts
ATTENTION: The parts in this chapter may only be replaced by a recognised
specialist. Incorrect handling can increase the risk of injury and damage to property.

5. Handling the tractor A-frames
Before mounting the unit on the tractor and operating it, the following points must be checked
to ensure that the unit can be operated safely.
Before coupling the unit to the tractor, make sure that the coupling point is undamaged
and clean.
ATTENTION: Damage and contamination can impair the secure connection.
UNFALLGEFAHR!
Check the connecting materials for completeness and integrity.
ATTENTION: Only use the connecting materials supplied. If they are damaged,
replace them with original spare parts from Wilhelm Fricke SE. UNFALLGEFAHR!
Type conformity with the requirements in this manual.

ATTENTION: The use of unsuitable or defective tools can lead to accidents and
injuries. VERLETZUNGSGEFAHR!
ATTENTION: The mounting may only be carried out by technically instructed
persons. UNFALLGEFAHR!
1. Remove all parts of the packaging and place them on a clean and stable surface.
ATTENTION: The use of defective parts can lead to accidents.
2. Mount the attachment of the operating lever as shown in Figure 2.
3. Secure the attachment with the screws and nut supplied (2x SW10).
4. Check the work that has been carried out and take immediate corrective action if
necessary.
5.1. Mounting and dismounting on the tractor
ATTENTION: Before mounting and dismounting, secure the tractor against
unauthorised reconnection. UNFALLGEFAHR!
5.1.1. Mounting on the tractor
1. Checking the conformity of the connection points. If there are any doubts, consult a
specialist.
ATTENTION: Combining categories that do not match is likely to increase the risk
of accidents.
2. Make the mechanical connection between the tractor and the tractor A-frame according to
the tractor operating instructions.
ATTENTION: Improperly fitted connections can jump off and cause increased risk of
injury and environmental damage.
3. Check that the connections made are securely fitted and have sufficient clearance to vehicle
parts (Fig. 2).
IMPORTANT: Insufficient clearance can cause damage to the tractor and the tractor
A-frame.
5.1.2. Dismantling from the tractor
1. Loosen the mechanical connection of the top link according to the tractor operating
instructions.
ATTENTION: Make sure the top link is secured, because if it knocks around, it can
lead to injuries. After the top attachment point is released, the tractor A-frame can
fold down and cause injuries.
2. Fold down the tractor A-frame on a suitable surface.
3. Unlock the lower link connections according to the tractor operating instructions.
ATTENTION: Once it has been folded down and unlocked, the tractor A-frame can
slip away and cause injury, so make sure the ground has sufficient load-bearing
capacity.

5.2. Operating the tractor A-frame
ATTENTION: Before entering the hazardous area, secure the tractor against
unauthorised restarting and lower the implement completely. UNFALLGEFAHR!
5.2.1. Coupling of equipment and operation
1. Check that the attachment categories between the tractor and the equipment A-frame
correspond and that the tractor is technically compatible with the equipment.
ATTENTION: Mismatches can lead to serious accidents.
2. Fixing the actuating cable to the unlocking lever.
3. Pull the actuating cable to open the tensioning hooks (fig. 2).
ATTENTION: Do not place the actuating cable around your hand or finger as a loop,
there is a danger of crushing and amputation.
4. Lift the three-point attachment to pick up the equipment. Release the actuating cable to
engage the locking pawl.
5. Lower and secure the vehicle against unauthorised use.
6. Check the mechanical locking and the free movement of the equipment.
7. Removal and safe stowage of the actuating cable.
ATTENTION: Only hook the actuating cable onto the tractor A-frame during the
hitching process. Clamping the actuating cable can unintentionally unlock the
implement. Risk of accident!
8. Testing the secure locking of the locking pawl on the tensioning hook.
9. Secure the locking pawl against unintentional release with the cotter pin (Fig. 3).
10. The equipment A-frame must rest completely on the tractor A-frame.
ATTENTION: Inadequate locking of the locking pawl and a missing spring cotter pin
can lead to serious accidents due to loss of the implement. The tensioning hook must
rest completely against the locking pawl.
ATTENTION: The maximum permitted speed on public roads with closed asphalt
surface, with semi-mounted equipment is 25km/h. On all other roads and dirt roads
the maximum speed must not exceed 6km/h.
5.2.1.1. Adjusting the tensioning hook
NOTE: Only carry out adjustment in the assembled state to check the setting
immediately (see Fig. 4).
a. Loosen the lock nut (A) and the retaining nut (B).
b. Adjust the tension hook (C) by turning the retaining screw (D) until the locking pawl (E)
and the tension hook (C) are completely on top of each other.
c. After adjustment tighten the retaining nut (B) and secure with the lock nut (A).
ATTENTION: Insufficient adjustment and securing can cause the connection to
become loose. Risk of accident!
5.2.2. Uncoupling equipment
1. Set the equipment down on a safe and stable surface.

ATTENTION: Insufficient load capacity can cause the equipment to tilt, creating a
risk of accidents!
2. Secure the vehicle against unauthorised use and movement.
3. Hook the operating cable into the eye of the unlocking lever.
4. Remove the spring cotter pin.
5. Pull the actuating cable to unlock the locking pawl.
ATTENTION: Do not place the actuating cable around your hand or finger as a loop,
there is a danger of crushing and amputation.
6. After complete uncoupling, dismantle and safely store the actuating cable and put the
spring cotter pin back into the receptacle.
7. Check that the implement is in a safe position.
6. Maintenance and repair
Maintenance and repair work may be performed only by qualified personnel.
The specifications for maintenance and care in the operating instructions are binding and
must be observed.
Use only original spare and wear parts.
Welding work on the tractor A-frame or its pick-up points is strictly prohibited.
If a paint touch-up is necessary, make sure not to obscure the instruction and product
signs. If necessary, replace them with original spare parts from Fricke SE.
6.1. Maintenance plan
The operator must carry out an expert inspection before each initial start-up, after any
changes to the tractor A-frame and at least once a year. These inspections must be suitably
documented.
Before each use, the tractor A-frame must be checked by the operator for damage and wear.
The connecting parts must especially be checked to ensure that they are firmly fixed.
ATTENTION: Failure to follow maintenance instructions can lead to serious accidents
and malfunctioning.
All lubrication points must be lubricated with an environmentally friendly multi-grade grease
according to the following lubrication schedule.

6.2. Cleaning schedule
Clean the equipment after each use. Careful handling protects the equipment from damage
and extends its service life.
If you are unable to remove dirt and accumulated residues with a brush or broom, we
recommend cleaning with a water jet. Do not use aggressive cleaning agents.

ATTENTION: Never straighten bearings with water jets. This could result in
expensive repairs.
ATTENTION: Wash only on approved surfaces and areas, as washing out grease can
cause environmental damage. Observe the applicable regional regulations.
7. Transport and storage
If the tractor A-frame is out of operation for a longer period of time, clean it
according to chapter 6.2 Cleaning plan of these operating instructions and prepare
it for storage according to the instructions in chapter 6.1 Maintenance plan of these
operating instructions.
Check that the wearing parts are in good condition and that all individual parts are
firmly fitted. Before storage, carry out any necessary maintenance work and
replace the affected wear parts.
ATTENTION: There is a risk of injury due to overstressing when lifting and carrying
by hand.
Always make sure that the ground is level and sufficiently stable and that the tractor
A-frame is securely positioned.
The storage location should be dry. Cover the equipment with a clean and dry
tarpaulin.
8. Environmental protection and disposal
The separate, environmentally friendly disposal of materials encourages recycling of
materials. Therefore, after expiry of the normal service life, the equipment itself and all related
components, including the lubrication, packaging and wear parts, should be disposed of at a
recyclables collection point.
Packaging, equipment and accessories are made of recyclable materials and should be
disposed of accordingly.
If the unit is no longer serviceable, make sure it is unusable before disposal.
ATTENTION: If you do not have the necessary technical knowledge, hire a specialist
to dismantle and dispose of the unit. VERLETZUNGSGEFAHR!
!!! Always observe local disposal regulations !!!

9. Troubleshooting
