Ordering Information
Media converters are small single-channel
optical converters that attach to the BNC
input or output (depending on the model) and
convert SD/HD/3G, AES, MADI electrical signals
to/from fiber optic signals. Media converters
support single-mode fiber connections using
robust LC connectors. Using these media
converters, ordinary modules, routers, servers,
and many other broadcast products can be
made fiber-capable.
High-definition signals often require signal
transport above the limit of conventional
cables. Optical connections go further while
providing electrical isolation. These media
converters support single-mode fiber which
carries SD/HD/3G, AES, MADI signals
substantially further than multi-mode.

The media converters are offered as individual
transmit and receiver devices. These fiber optic
media converter devices require one power
supply per device. The media converter frames
support up to 18 transmit or receive media
converters and provide power for all 18 devices.
All of the media converter receivers operate over
a range of 1270 nm > 1610 nm.
