Model Illustration:
1) HWR60-D represents the heat pump outdoor unit of U.S household central conditioner with a cooling
capacity of 60000Btu/h (ton), in which “D” indicates the power supply: single-phase, 220V, 60Hz.
2) HNF36/A-C represents the single-cooling indoor unit with fan of U.S household central conditioner, with
a cooling capacity of 36000Btu/h (3 ton), in which “/A” indicates the first modification design and “C”
indicates the power supply: single-phase, 220V, 50Hz.
1.2 Product Features
U.S household unit is also named compressor condensing unit. HW series U.S household unit is a type of
general outdoor air conditioning unit. Combined with the HNF series indoor unit (Air handler), it can form into
duct-type household central air conditioning system according to the user’s needs. It is suitable to deluxe
multi-room houses with a large area, e.g. villa, complex building. And it is also suitable to small- and medium
plaza, office spaces and workshops.
◇ Simple Structure and Small Size: The plating part consists of 4 components only, i.e. cover plate,
chassis, side plate and condenser connection plate. The size is small down to 610mmX610mm (L X W).
◇ Easy Installation: The unit can be directly placed outdoors and fixed with anchor bolts.
◇ Beautiful Appearance and High Strength: Te full set of plating parts are formed by molding. The
appearance is beautiful and plastic sprayed for enhanced corrosion resistance.
◇ Highly Efficient and Energy Saving: Application of high-quality compressor. The evaporator employs
hydrophilic filming aluminum and inner-threaded copper pipe to enhance the heat exchange efficiency.
This has increased the seasonal energy-efficiency ratio high up to 13.
◇ Safe and Reliable Operation: The unit is CSA & UL certified and proven in numerous tests.
◇ High Quality of Indoor Air: The unit may be connected to multiple air outlets for even distribution of
the temperature and humidity in the room. And fresh air duct is embedded for connection of fresh air to

1.4.2.2 Installation of Indoor Unit
For HNF series U.S household unit, three installations are available at your option:
1.4.3 Handling of Outdoor Unit
To handle the unit, be sure to use two ropes of enough length to lift from four directions. To avoid deviation
from the center of unit, the angle between the lifting ropes must be less than 40o. Please refer to below:

1.4.4 Power Requirements
◇ The power capacity shall be enough high and the section area of the cable shall be enough big. For
detail, please consult your dealer or professional engineer.
◇ The air conditioning unit must be securely earthed. The earth wire shall be connected to the special
earthing device of the construction. Never connect the earth wire to the gas pipe, water pipe, lightning
arrestor or telephone earth wire.
◇ The circuit must be installed by professional technicians in accordance with the national cabling rules.
◇ In the fixed circuit, leakage protection switch and air switch of enough power capacity must be installed.

1.4.5 Selection of Installation Location
◇ The compressor condensing unit must be installed on the stable and firm supporting plane outside the
construction.
◇ The compressor condensing unit shall be installed as close as possible to the indoor unit, thus to
decrease the length and bends of the cooling pipe.
◇ Avoid installing the unit beneath the window or between the constructions; otherwise the normal
operating noise may invade into the room.
◇ Select a well-ventilated place where the inlet and outlet air will not be blocked.
◇ Do no install in a place subject to polluting air, e.g. flammable and explosive substances, heavy dusts,
salt fog, etc.

1.6 Adjustment of Refrigerant Charge
The charge before shipment is suitable a pipe length of 6m. If the pipe is longer than 6m, add refrigerant as
specified below:

1.7 Working Principle and System Diagram
Cooling Cycle: The compressor absorbs the low-temperature and low-pressure refrigerant steam from the
evaporator and compresses it into high-temperature high-pressure gas before discharging it into the
condenser. Within the condenser, the refrigerant gas exchanges heats with the outdoor air and transfers the
heats to the air. Then, it is condensed to high-temperature and high-pressure refrigerant liquid. After
reduction of temperature and pressure via throttling device, the refrigerant is changed to low-pressure
low-temperature gas and liquid phases. Then, it enters into the evaporator for heat exchange and turns into
low-temperature low-pressure gas refrigerant after absorbing the heats from the air. The refrigerant gas from
the evaporator is again absorbed into the compressor for compression. This cycle is so repeated and the
cooled air is continuously blown into the air conditioning area under the force of the fan.
Heating Cycle: The heating cycle is reverse to the cooling cycle. Via –4way valve, the refrigerant changes
its flow direction in the system. That is, the high-temperature high-pressure refrigerant gas from the
compressor directly enters into the indoor side heat exchanger for condensing. In the heat exchanger, the
high-temperature high-pressure refrigerant exchanges the heats with the air and becomes liquid refrigerant
after discharging the heats. Via the throttling device, the liquid refrigerant enters into the outdoor side heat
changer for vaporization. After that, the low-temperature low-pressure refrigerant gas again enters into the
