Operator’s Manual Rev. 1.0 July 2012 5
2.2 Electromagnetic emissions
All electronic devices generate free-space radiated electro agnetic e issions
due to the electric or agnetic activity of the device.
These electro agnetic e issions ay interfere with other appliances, such as
personal co puters or radiofrequency syste s, causing loss of data or
downgrading of perfor ance.
This disturbance is known as electro agnetic interference (EMI), while
electro agnetic co patibility (EMC) defines the ability of electronic devices to
operate correctly in the presence of electro agnetic fields, tolerating and
li iting electro agnetic interference.
Although the DACTYSCAN84C device has been designed in full co pliance with
current regulations, in particular cases, electro agnetic interference ay be
caused ainly by two pheno ena: closeness to other appliances and electrical
interference in power lines.
If this happens, the pheno enon can be corrected as follows:
Insulation
Devices characterized by strong radiation of electro agnetic waves ust
be kept at reasonable distance fro the DACTYSCAN84C device.
Radiation
If the DACTYSCAN84C device is close to receivers/trans itters, odify
the direction of the antenna.
Dedicated circuits
Connect the DACTYSCAN84C device on separate power lines fro other
devices with high electric noise such as, for exa ple, conditioners.
2.3 Environmental protection (European Union)
This sy bol, applied to the product or packaging, indicates that
the product belongs to the category of electric and electronic
equip ent.
The product contains potentially hazardous substances for the
environ ent and health and ust never be disposed of together
with ordinary solid waste. In co pliance with current legislation
and the WEEE Directive 2002/96/CE, waste electric and
electronic equip ent ust be anaged according to the
procedures established.
The user is responsible for disposal of this product which ust be sent to
collection centers specialized in the recycling of electric and electronic
equip ent, thus contributing to re-use of equip ent that could have
dangerous effects on the environ ent and on health.
For further infor ation regarding collection and recycling points in your area,
contact the authorities of your city or the Green Bit custo er assistance service
or your retailer for infor ation on withdrawal of the device.
