eDrive +2.0 CONVERSION KIT INSTALLATION MANUAL
(Suits all Maestro models, MK1, MK2 & MK3)

INSTALLATION
1. Power off.
2. Remove MCB cover & unplug OE cable.
3. Remove OE enclosure cover.
TOOLS REQUIRED
 Medium Phillips head screw driver
 Small flat blade screw driver
 Cordless drill, with 1/4” hex socket
 Pliers
 2.0mm Allen key (included)
NOTE: IF INSTALLING M123ED2 OR M123EDN2 ON ADJUSTABLE CLUTCH MODEL AN ECC1
(ADDITIONAL KIT) IS REQUIRED.

4. Remove 4 x mounting screws, use cordless drill & 1/4” drive bit if available. Two of these screws will be needed later on.
5. Remove OE assembly including cable (no longer needed).
6. Detach OE wheel (no longer needed), use pliers or small blade screwdriver. Remove the OE enclosure, observe correct
orientation of the enclosure for re-assembly.
7. Insert the shaft adapter and ensure it is hard against the shoulder. Tighten the three grub screws.

8. Use the provided M4 hex head taptite to drive in and out of the hole shown below, to form a thread. Use a Phillips head
style screwdriver.
9. Reinstall the enclosure, observe orientation as before. Insert two of the original screws as shown to assist enclosure
mounting. Install APE cable, (must pass through foam pad into MCB enclosure).
10. Use the provided M4 hex head taptites to drive in and out of the holes shown below. There should be a clearance of approx
1mm between the base of the enclosure and the hex head to ensure adequate thread depth has been achieved .

NOTE: Ensure all excess debris is removed from the enclosure after
threading holes.

11. Install the APE unit, using the M4 screws, spacers and fibre washers provided. The two longer M4 screws go through into
the gearbox and the single shorter screw only goes into the plastic housing.
The bottom of the APE assembly must be held in position (as shown above) while fastening all three M4 screws. This will provide a
neat mesh between the shaft drive gear and small APE gear (shown below).
It is important that the teeth are not too far apart as shown below.

12. Attach the APE cable as shown below. Ensure cable does not foul on any of the APE gears.
13. Refit enclosure cover.
14. Replace MCB (Main Control Board) and connect APE cable to eDrive +2.0 MCB, then guide the excess cable between the
MCB & top of the enclosure.
15. Place Grifco +2.0 label on underside of APE enclosure

NOTE:
The eDrive +2.0 motor terminals are slightly different to the Maestro MK1-3, specifically the Y & Z terminals have been
alternated, refer below. This must be recognised when converting a single phase Maestro opener.

15. If an EB (Expansion Board) is fitted the battery on the EB must be removed. It is recommended that pliers be used, as
shown below.

16. Attach the Grifco +2.0 label to the wall controller, as shown below.
The limit LED should be ON (i.e. no limits set) before operating with new conversion kit. If limits are set, they must be bombed,
then reset. To bomb limits:
 Hold stop and press set 3 times (limit LED should begin to flash)
 Press set (limit LED will flicker)
 Run door open for less than 2 seconds, then press set (limit LED should become solid)
 Cycle power and reset limits, refer to eDrive +2.0 manual (included) for limit setting procedure
