e first use and keep it in a safe place for
future reference, along with the warranty card, purchase receipt and carton.
The safety precautions enclosed herein reduce the risk of fire, electric shock
and injury when correctly adhered to.
Important warnings and cautions
•
Toreducethe risk of fire or electric shock, do not expose this product to water
or moisture do not use it where it could fall into or get splashed by water.
•
Toprevent contact with high voltage components do not attempt to open the
equipment.
•
Only use the AC adaptor plug that is provided with the unit. Replacing or
altering the AC adaptor may result in damage to the unit and/or serious bodily
harm.
•
Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is required if
any of the following have occurred: the power cord or plug has been
damaged, the unit has been exposed to rain or moisture, objects have
fallen into the unit, the unit has been dropped or is not working correctly.
General precautions
•
Install the unit in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. Do not
install it near any heat sources such as radiators,stoves or other objects
(including amplifiers) that produce heat.
•
Use the unit only with the accessories that are sold with the unit. Avoid
putting extensive stress on the power cord, especially at the connection
points.
When operated with mains electricity, this unit can only be switched off
completely by unplugging it from the mains supply.
Toensure proper
ventilation and operation, do not block any ventilation openings.
•
Unplug the unit during
lightning storms or when it is not in use for long
periods oftime.
•
Excessive sound pressure from headphones can cause hearing loss.
•
Keep candles or other open flames awayfrom this product at all times.
Placing this player near a TV, Radio, Fridge, Microwave, Amplifier and DVD
Player and may adversely affect the play back sound. In such a case, move
the player away from other electrical devices
•
Ensure the unit is well ventilated.
•
Ensure to unplug the unit from the mains socket before cleaning.
•
Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning the unit and the LCD screen.
•
Do not use any type of solvent as they may damage the surface of the radio.

Instructions
Power On/Off
1.
Insert the power adaptor into the POWERPORT on the back of the radio
and connect the other end to a power outlet. The unit will turn on and
automatically set the time.
2.
Press the POWER button to turn on the Radio.
3.
Press the SOURCE button to change between modes.
NOTE:
Toreturn to standby mode, press the POWER button again
DAB/DAB+ Operation
1.
Press the SOURCE button until DAB/DAB+mode is selected.
2.
If this is your first use, or you've moved to a new area, press the SCAN
Button to automatically scan for local stations.
3.
Tochange between stations, rotate the TUNE/SELECT dial to scroll
through the available stations. Once the preferred station has been found,
press the TUNE/SELECT button.
4.
Use the VOLUME dial to adjust to your desired level.
NOTE:
•
You can press the INFO button to display additional information.
•
If an alarm has been set, an alarm icon is shown on the clock display.
Dynamic Range Control {DRC)
In DAB mode:
Changing the dynamic range can affect the loudness and quality of the radio
program that you are listening to, so that it will be more suited to your listening
conditions and your own personal listening requirements. E.g. In a noisy
environment, where quiet sounds might be difficult to hear, setting the
compression to maximum will boost he quiet sounds, whilst keeping the loudest
sounds at their original level.
There are 3 levels of compression:
DRCOff : no compression. This is the de fault setting.
DRCLow: medium compression.
DRCHigh: maximum compression.

1.
Press the
MENU button.
2.
Rotate the
TUNE/SELECT dial clockwise until <DRC>
is displayed.
3.
Press and release the
TUNE/SELECT dial to select.
4.
Rotate the
TUNE/SELECT dial to scroll
through the 3 compression level
options available and press the
TUNE/SELECT dial to select.
NOTE: The current DRC setting will have an * in the top right of the display.
5.
Press and release the
MENU button to return to the station display.
Prune DAB/DAB+ Stations
You can remove the DAB/DAB+ stations in the station list that cannot be received
your area.These are listed with a? Prefix.
1.
Press the MENU button.
2.
Rotate the TUNE/SELECT dial clockwise until PRUNE is displayed.
3.
Press and release the TUNE/SELECT dial to select. ‘PRUNE? <NO> YES'
is displayed.
Rotate the TUNE/SELECT dial clockwise to move to<YES>.
Press the TUNE/SELECT dial to select and prune the station list. Stations with
a'?' prefix will now no longer be displayed.
4.
Press and release the MENU button to return to the station display.
FM Operation
1.
Press the SOURCE button until FM mode is selected.
2.
Tojump to the next available station, press the SCAN button.
3.
Tomanually tune into another station, rotate the TUNE/SELECT dial, then
press the TUNE/SELECT button.

Use the VOLUME dial to adjust to your desired level.
NOTE: If an alarm has been set, an alarm icon is shown on the clock display.
Preset Stations
Your Retro Digital Radio allows up to 20 (10 DAB and 10FM) stations to be
saved for quick access.

Adding a Station to Preset
Retrieving a Preset Station
1.
Whilst in DAB or FM mode, tune into a station that you wish to add to you
preset.
2.
Hold the PRESET button; select the preset number you wish to store the
station to, then press the
TUNE/SELECT button.
3. Rotate the
TUNE/SELECT
dial until you reach your desired preset
position. Prsse
the
TUNE/SELECT
dial to set.
4.
The LCD will
display a confirmation
message, such as 'Preset
1 Stored'
NOTE:
You can also quickly add a station to the 1,2, or 3 memory button By holding
the respective button down
on the front of the radio until it
states "Preset
Stored".
1.
Toretrievea station from the 1, 2 or 3 memory button, press the respective
button on the front of the radio.
2.
To retrieve a station from 4 to10, press the PRESET button, then rotate

Bluetooth Operation
1.
Press the SOURCE button until BT mode is selected.
2.
When Bluetooth mode is activated, it will commence pairing. Follow the
instructions on your Bluetooth enabled device to pair with GV-DR02
3.
You can now play music through Bluetooth.
4.
Use the VOLUME dial to adjust to your desired output level.
5.
Rotate the TUNE/SELECT dial clockwise to go to the next song or anti-
clockwise to go to the previous song.
6.
Press the TUNE/SELECT dial to Play/Pause the current song.

AUX Operation
1.
Press the SOURCE button until AUX mode is selected.
2.
Insert an AUX cable (not included) into the back of the radio.
3. Insert the other end of the AUX cable into your device.
4.
You can now play audio through the Retro Digital Radio speakers.
5.
Use the VOLUME dial to adjust to your desired output level.
Using the Alarm
•
Your Retro Digital Radio allows 2 alarms to be set.
Setting an alarm:
•
Press the ALARM button repeatedly until either 'Alarm1' or 'Alarm2' is
shown.
•
Press the TUNE/SELECT dial to proceed.
•
Rotate the TUNE/SELECT dial to select the alarm hour. Press the TUNE/
SELECT dial to proceed.
•
Rotate the TUNE/SELECT dial to select the alarm minute. Press the
TUNE/SELECT dial to proceed.
•
Rotate the TUNE/SELECT dial to select the alarm duration. Press the
TUNE/SELECT dial to proceed.
•
Rotate the TUNE/SELECT dial to select the alarm source. Select between
FM, Buzzer, and DAB. Press the
TUNE/SELECT dial to proceed.
•
Rotate the
TUNE/SELECT
dial to adjust the volume. Press the
TUNE/SELECT
dial to proceed.
•
Rotate the
TUNE/SELECT
dial to set the alar
m to on or off. Press the
TUNE/SELECT
dial to save the alarm.
●
Rotate the TUNE/SELECT dial to select the alarmoccurrence. Select
between Daily, Weekdays, Weekly or Once. Press the TUNE/SELECT dial
to proceed.

Stopping or Snoozing the Alarm
•
Once the alarm is activated, deactivate it by pressing the
TUNE/SELECT
dial.
Removing an Alarm
•
Press the
ALARM
button until either 'Alarm1' or 'Alarm2' is shown.
•
Nowpress and hold the
ALARM
button down to turn the Alarm off.

Problem Solution
My Retro Digital Radio
isn't turning on.Check that the power ad
aptor is connected to the
back of
the radio. En

Why is there no sound?
•
Ensure that you are inDA
B or FM mode by
checking the LCD Display.

dial to select a station.
Why are the buttons
