GENERAL
The
function
of
this
Maintenance
Manual
is
to
acquaint
maintenance
personnel
with
the
systems
and
their
components
of
the
GA-7/Cougar
aircraft
and
to
direct
them
in
the
proper
procedures
for
maintaining
the
aircraftin an airworthy condition.
This
manual
contains
information
on
installations
made
in
the
aircraft
during
manufacture
and
optional
equipment
only.
However,
information
derived
from
applicable
Aircraft
Service
Kits,
Service
Bulletins
and
Service
Letters
will
be
included
in
the
manual
as
soon
as
possible
after
the
issuance
of
these
documents.
Changes
or
installations
made
by the
operator
arc
not
included
inthis
manual.
The
ability
of
maintenance
personnel
is
recognized,
and
those
procedures
which
are
considered
common
to
all
aircraft
have
been either briefly referenced or omitted.

The

TIME LIMITS - DESCRIPTION/OPERATION
General
The Service Guide (Figure 1) contains the manufacturer's recommended time limits for inspection, mainte
nance, and overhaul of the GA-7/Cougaraircraft, its systems and units.
All
wing
and
fuselage
structural
components
are subject to normal inspection, maintenance, repair, and
replacement
procedures.
In addition, if
corrosion
isdetected on

certificate was made after September 14, 1969, have the critical wingstructural components investigated for
fatigue
strength and that,

applicable,
these
components be
service
life
limited.
Twocritical
areas
of the
GA-7/Cougar wingwere investigated per these requirements, the front spar lower capat
W.S.
76.60 and
W.S.
22.416. The service livesof these two critical areas, as defined by structural analysis, are shown in Figure 1. As
on-goingfatigue testing extends these life-limits,revisionsto this manual will be supplied.
