2. General description
This booklet includes instructions for installation,
operation and maintenance of the Grundfos
AMD.05-08 mixer series for pumping station pits and
wastewater tanks. The mixers are designed for
applications involving the mixing, i.e. the
homogenization and suspension, of liquids of low to
medium viscosity, less than or equal to 500 mPas.

2.1 Applications
AMD.05-08 is designed for the following
applications:
• solids suspension and flushing in pumping
stations
• mixing in small tanks, approximately ∅3500, 2 x
4 m or 3 x 3 m.
In order not to overload the mixer and expose it to
corrosion, observe the following liquid limitations.

3.2 Nameplate
You can identify the mixer by means of the
nameplate on the mounting clamp. Use the details
on the nameplate for ordering of spare parts.

Fix the additional nameplate supplied with the mixer
in a visible position at the installation site.
4. General safety instructions
Follow these safety instructions as well as the
instructions in each individual section when
transporting, storing, handling and operating the
mixer.
Maintenance, service and repairs
The mixer must only be dismantled by Grundfos or
an authorised service workshop. This also applies to
the cable entry.
Use only components produced by Grundfos for
repair purposes.
5. Storage
Store the mixer in a dry location in which the
temperature is not subject to major fluctuations.

6. Installation
Install the mixer horizontally. The maximum
permissible inclination angle is plus-minus 40 °.
Only lift the mixer in the suspension point.
Lifting equipment and a chain or wire designed for
lifting and lowering the mixer into the pit or tank are
available as accessories. Do not use the equipment
as universal lifting equipment.
6.1 Positioning
Correct positioning of the mixer is essential to
ensure trouble-free operation and long life.
Observe the following guidelines:
• The mixer must always be completely
submerged.
• The mixer must be placed in such a way that a
good mixing of the liquid in the entire pit or tank is
obtained. If more mixers are installed in the same
pit or tank, the mixers must not generate opposite
flows.
• The distance between the propeller tip and the pit
or tank bottom and walls must be at least 10-20
cm.
• The distance between the propeller tip and the
surface of the liquid must be at least 10 cm.
6.2 Installation instructions
You can mount the mixer in different ways,
depending on the accessories:
• mounting bracket and tube for suspended
mounting, fig. 3
• mounting bracket for wall mounting, fig. 3
• fixation base for bottom mounting, fig. 3
• motor bracket for mounting on column profile, fig.

Caution
Never hang the mixer by the power supply
cable.
Caution
Always have at least 3 m free cable above
the liquid level. This limits installation
depth to 7 m for mixers with 10 m cable.

7. Electrical connection
All electrical connections must be carried out by a
qualified electrician in accordance with local
regulations.
Observe all currently valid national and local
regulations relating to safety and accident
prevention.
The supply voltage and frequency are marked on the
nameplate. Make sure that the mixer is suitable for
the power supply available at the installation site.
The mixer is supplied complete with a mains supply
cable of 10 metres.
7.1 Motor protection
The motor is protected against overheating by a
thermal switch.
When the maximum winding temperature is reached,
the switch will open the circuit and stop the motor.
When the windings have cooled to normal
temperature, the switch will close the circuit and the
motor will restart automatically, depending on the
installation.
7.2 Direction of rotation
When you have carried out the electrical
connections, make sure that the mixer propeller is
rotating in the correct direction. When viewed from
the propeller end, it must rotate clockwise.
If the propeller rotates in the wrong direction,
interchange two phases of the mains supply, L1, L2,
L3.
8. Startup
Before startup
• Make sure that the propeller is rotating in the
correct direction. See section 7.2 Direction of
rotation.
• Make sure that the mixer is completely
submerged in the liquid to be mixed.
• Make sure that the motor cable is thoroughly
fixed and cannot get caught in the propeller.
• Make sure that there are no solid objects in the
pit or tank.
• Make sure that no persons can fall into the pit or
tank.
The mixer motor and the shaft seal housing are filled
with oil. It is not necessary to check the oil level
before startup.
9. Service
Before starting any work on a mixer used to handle
liquids which could constitute a hazard to health,
carry out thorough cleaning and venting of mixer, pit
or tank according to local regulations.
9.1 Spare parts
Always replace damaged mixer parts with new
approved parts. Do not recondition motor parts by
machining, retapping, welding, etc.
Warning
Before making any electrical connections,
make sure that the fuses have been
removed or the mains switch has been
switched off. Make sure that the power
supply cannot be accidentally switched on.
The mixer must be connected to an
external mains switch with a minimum
contact gap of 3 mm in all poles.
Caution
The motor is not designed for operation via
a frequency converter.
Caution
The motor must be protected against
overload via an external motor-protective
circuit breaker. The circuit breaker setting
must not exceed the rated motor current.
Caution
Fasten the power supply cable so that it
cannot fall down and be caught in the
propeller during operation and so that it is
not exposed to constant vibrations
involving the risk of damage.
Caution
The mixer must always be submerged
during operation.
Caution
If the mixer has not been used for a long
period, make sure that the propeller can
rotate freely. If not, check the shaft seal.
Warning
Before starting any work on the mixer,
make sure that the fuses have been
removed or the mains switch has been
switched off. Make sure that the power
supply cannot be accidentally switched on.
The built-in thermal switch cuts in
automatically when the motor has cooled
to normal temperature.
All rotating parts must have stopped
moving.

9.2 Contaminated mixer
If you request Grundfos to service the mixer, contact
Grundfos with details about the liquid before
returning the mixer. Otherwise Grundfos can refuse
to accept the mixer for service.
Any application for service, no matter to whom you
send it, must include details about the liquid if the
mixer has been used for liquids which are injurious to
health or toxic.
Costs of returning the mixer must be paid by the
customer.
9.3 Service chart

Oil quality
Caution
If a mixer has been used for a liquid which
is injurious to health or toxic, it will be
classified as contaminated.

increases the life of the wire.
Check the wire regularly and
always before using the winch.
Replace the wire, if required.

10. Fault finding
10.1 Fault finding chart
Warning
Before starting any work on the mixer,
make sure that the fuses have been
removed or the mains switch has been
switched off. Make sure that the power
supply cannot be accidentally switched on.
All rotating parts must have stopped
moving.
Fault Cause Remedy
1. The mixer does
not start.
a) No power supply or supply failure. Check the electrical installation.
Call in an electrician.
b) The power supply cable is faulty. Call in an electrician.
c) The control system is faulty. Call in an electrician.
d) The propeller is not free to rotate. Clean the propeller blades and check
manually that the propeller can rotate
freely.
e) The stator windings are faulty. Contact Grundfos.
f) The motor has cut out because of
overheating.
Wait until the motor has cooled and
attempt to restart the mixer.
g) Different phase voltages. Call in an electrician.
h) The motor-protective circuit breaker is
set too low or is faulty.
Check the motor-protective circuit
breaker.
Set the circuit breaker to the rated
current.
See section 7.1 Motor protection.
i) There is humidity in the motor. Contact Grundfos.
2. The mixer
starts but stops
immediately.
a) The stator windings are faulty. Contact Grundfos.
b) Different phase voltages. Call in an electrician.
c) The motor-protective circuit breaker is
set too low or is faulty.
Check the motor-protective circuit
breaker.
Set the circuit breaker to the rated
current.
See section 7.1 Motor protection.
d) There is humidity in the motor. Contact Grundfos.

c) Oscillations caused by the installation. Check the installation design.

12.1 Sound pressure level
The sound pressure level of the mixer is lower than
the limiting values stated in the EC Council Directive
2006/42/EC relating to machinery.
13. Disposal
This product or parts of it must be disposed of in an
environmentally sound way:
1. Use the public or private waste collection service.
2. If this is not possible, contact the nearest
Grundfos company or service workshop.

2.1 Použití
Míchadla AMD.05-08 jsou vhodná pro následující
oblasti použití:
• pevné suspenze a proplachování v erpacích
stanicích,
• míchání kapalin v malých nádržích (cca ∅3,5 m,
2 x 4 m nebo 3 x 3 m).
Aby nedocházelo k petžování míchadla a jeho
vystavování úinkm koroze, nutno respektovat
následující mezní hodnoty ve vztahu k míchané
kapalin.

3.2 Typový štítek
Míchadlo lze identifikovat podle jeho štítku
umístného na montážní objímce. Údaje uvedené na
typovém štítku použijte k objednání náhradních díl.

Další typový štítek dodávaný spolu s míchadlem
umístte na viditelném místna místinstalace.
4. Všeobecné bezpenostní pedpisy
Tyto bezpenostní pedpisy i pokyny uvedené
v každé jednotlivé ásti tohoto návodu je teba
dodržovat pi peprav, skladování, manipulaci
a provozování míchadla.
Údržba, servis a opravy
Demontáž míchadla smjí provádt pouze
pracovníci firmy Grundfos nebo poveného
servisního stediska. To se týká rovnž servisních
prací na kabelové prchodce.
K opravám používejte pouze komponenty, které
vyrábí Grundfos.
5. Skladování
Míchadlo je teba skladovat na suchém míst, kde
nejsou žádné podstatnjší výkyvy teploty.

6. Instalace
Míchadlo umístte vodorovn. Maximální pípustný
úhel sklonu je ± 40 °.
Ke zvedání míchadla používejte pouze závsný bod.
Zvedací zaízení a etz, resp. lanko, používané ke
zvedání a spouštní míchadla do jímky i nádrže, se
dodávají jako píslušenství a nejsou ureny
k manipulaci s jinými bemeny. Zaízení nesmíte
použít jako univerzální zvedací zaízení.
6.1 Instalaní poloha
Správná instalaní poloha míchadla je základním
pedpokladem pro bezporuchový provoz a dlouhou
provozní životnost zaízení.
Dodržujte následující pokyny:
• Míchadlo musí být vždy zcela ponoeno
v kapalin.
• Míchadlo umístte tak, aby zajišovalo dobré
promíchávání celého obsahu jímky i nádrže.
Pokud má být ve stejné jímce i nádrži umístn
vtší poet míchadel, dbejte, aby tato míchadla
nevytváela navzájem protismrné proudní
míchané kapaliny.
• Vzdálenost špiky vrtule míchadla ode dna nebo
stn jímky i nádrže musí být min. 10-20 cm.
• Vzdálenost špiky vrtule míchadla od hladiny
kapaliny musí init alespo10 cm.
6.2 Pokyny pro instalaci
Míchadlo mžete nainstalovat nkolika rznými
zpsoby v závislosti na píslušenství:
• montážní konzola a trubka k zavšené instalaci,
obr. 3,

Nad hladinou kapaliny vždy ponechte
alespo3 m volného kabelu. Tím je
u míchadel s 10 m kabelem instalaní

7. Elektrická pípojka
Elektrické pipojení musí být provedeno osobou
spíslušnou kvalifikací v souladu s platnými
normami a místními pedpisy.
Dodržujte všechny aktuálnplatné celostátní i místní
pedpisy týkající se bezpenosti a pedcházení
nehodám.
Napájecí naptí a frekvence jsou vyznaeny na
typovém štítku. Ujistte se, že je míchadlo vhodné
pro zdroj napájení dostupný v místinstalace.
Míchadlo se dodává vetn10 metrnapájecího
kabelu.
7.1 Motorová ochrana
Motor je proti pehívání chránn termospínaem.
Jakmile je dosaženo maximální teploty vinutí,
termospínaperuší obvod a motor se zastaví.
Po ochlazení vinutí na normální teplotu sepne
termospínaelektrický obvod a podle druhu
instalace mže motor automaticky znovu nabhnout
do provozu.
7.2 Smr otáení
Po provedení elektrického zapojení je teba zajistit,
aby se vrtule míchadla otáela správným smrem.
Pi pohledu od konce vrtule se vrtule musí otáet ve
smru pohybu hodinových ruiek.
Jestliže se vrtule míchadla otáí nesprávným
smrem, pepojte libovolné dva fázové vodie
pívodu napájecího naptí, L1, L2, L3.
8. Spuštní
Ped uvedením do provozu
• Zkontrolujte správný smr otáení vrtule. Viz
kapitola 7.2 Směr otáčení.
• Zkontrolujte, zda je míchadlo zcela ponoeno
v míchané kapalin.
• Zkontrolujte, zda je napájecí kabel ádnfixován
tak, aby nemohl být zachycen vrtulí míchadla.
• Zkontrolujte, zda v jímce i nádrži nejsou žádné
pevné pedmty.
•Pesvdte se, že jsou provedena preventivní
opatení proti pádu osob do jímky i nádrže.
Motor míchadla a tleso hídelové ucpávky jsou
opateny olejovou náplní. Ped uvedením míchadla
do provozu není nutno stav oleje kontrolovat.
9. Servis
Ped zahájením jakýchkoliv prací na míchadle
používaném k míchání kapalin, které mohou
zpsobit újmu na zdraví osob, je teba míchadlo,
jímku i nádrž dkladnvyistit, pop. odvtrat
v souladu s místními pedpisy.
9.1 Náhradní díly
Poškozené souástí míchadla vždy nahrate novými
schválenými souástmi. Souásti motoru se nesmjí
repasovat obrábním, pevrtáváním, svaováním
apod.
Varování
Ped zahájením prací na elektrickém
pipojení vyjmte pojistky nebo vypnte
síový vypína. Musí být zajištno, že
napájecí naptí nemže být náhodn
zapnuto.
Míchadlo musí být pipojeno k externímu
síovému vypínai s minimální mezerou
mezi kontakty 3 mm ve všech pólech.
Pozor
Motor není navržen pro provoz
sfrekvenním mniem.
Pozor
Proti petížení musí být motor chránn
externím ochranným jistiem. Nastavení
jistie motoru nesmí být vyšší než
jmenovitý proud motoru.
Pozor
Napájecí kabel fixujte tak, aby nemohl
spadnout dola být za provozu zachycen
otáející se vrtulí míchadla a souasn
aby nebyl vystaven stálým vibracím, pi
nichž hrozí riziko jeho poškození.
Pozor
Míchadlo musí být za provozu vždy zcela
ponoeno v kapalin.
Pozor
Pokud bylo míchadlo odstaveno na delší
dobu z provozu, zkontrolujte, zda se jeho
vrtule volnotáí. Pokud tomu tak není,
zkontrolujte hídelovou ucpávku.
Varování
Ped zahájením prací na míchadle
zajistte, aby byly vyšroubovány pojistky
nebo aby byl vypnutý hlavní vypína.
Zajistte, aby zdroj napájecího naptí
nemohl být náhodnzapnut.
Jakmile se motor ochladí na normální
teplotu, zapne vestavný termospína
automaticky elektrický obvod.
Všechny rotaní ásti se musejí nejprve
zastavit.

9.2 Kontaminované míchadlo
Pokud žádáte Grundfos o provedení servisních prací
na míchadle, sdlte souasnpodrobnosti o erpané
kapalinapod., a to ještped odesláním míchadla.
Jinak mže Grundfos pevzetí míchadla k provedení
servisních prací odmítnout.
Každá žádost o provedení servisních prací (bez
ohledu na to, kdo má tyto práce provést) musí
obsahovat informace o kapalin, v niž míchadlo
pracovalo, pokud se jedná o kapalinu, která je
toxická nebo jinak nebezpená lidskému zdraví.
Náklady spojené s pepravou erpadla k provedení
servisu a zpt jdou k tíži zákazníka.

10. Pehled poruch
10.1 Poruchy a jejich odstraování
Varování
Ped zahájením prací na míchadle
zajistte, aby byly vyšroubovány pojistky
nebo aby byl vypnutý hlavní vypína. Musí
být zajištno, že napájecí naptí nemže
být náhodnzapnuto.
Všechny otáivé ásti se musejí nejprve
zastavit.

1. Míchadlo nejde
zapnout.
a) Perušený pívod elektrického proudu
nebo výpadek sít.
Zkontrolujte elektrickou instalaci.
Pivolejte elektrikáe.
b) Napájecí kabel je vadný. Pivolejte elektrikáe.
c) Závada na ídicím systému. Pivolejte elektrikáe.
d) Zablokovaná vrtule. Oistte listy vrtule a rukou zkontrolujte
volnost otáení.
e) Vadné statorové vinutí. Kontaktujte spolenost Grundfos.
f) Motor vypnul v dsledku pehátí. Vykejte ochlazení motoru a pak míchadlo
znovu zapnte.
g) Rozdílná fázová naptí. Pivolejte elektrikáe.
h) Ochranný motorový jistije nastaven
na píliš nízkou hodnotu, pípadnje
vadný.
Zkontrolujte ochranný jistimotoru.
Nastavte jistimotoru pro jmenovitý
