maximum pump pressure.

The default setting will cause the pump not
to stop until the flow has ceased.
The pump will start when the pressure in
the system has fallen.

4. Electrical connection
Check that the supply voltage and frequency
correspond to the values stated on the nameplate.
5. Ejector valve
The ejector valve is supplied separate with the
pump.
Remove the plug (V), see fig. 1, and fit the ejector
valve into the hole.

5.1 Ejector valve setting
The ejector valve in the plug hole (V) can be turned
to two positions. See fig. 3.
Figure 2shows an example of how the ejector valve
position may affect the QH curve.

Pos. 1
Turn the valve to the left (out).
Select pos. 1 when the suction pipe is empty and the
pump is to be primed.
Select also pos. 1 when a small quantity of water and
a high pressure are required.
Pos. 2
Turn the valve to the right (in).
Select pos. 2 when the pump has been primed, and
a large quantity of water and a low pressure are
required.

Warning
The electrical installation should be carried
out by an authorised person in accordance
with local regulations.
Warning
During electrical installation, make sure
that the power supply cannot be
accidentally switched on.
Warning
The unit must be connected to an external
mains switch with a minimum contact gap
of 3 mm in all poles.
As a precaution, the pump must be
connected to a socket with earth
connection.
We recommend to fit the permanent
installation with an earth leakage circuit
breaker (ELCB) with a tripping current ≤
30 mA.
Note
The O-ring must be fitted to the ejector
valve.
Tighten the valve using fingers only.

6. Startup
6.1 Shaft seal run-in
The seal faces are lubricated by the pumped liquid,
meaning that there may be a certain amount of
leakage from the shaft seal.
When the pump is started up for the first time, or
when a new shaft seal is installed, a certain run-in
period is required before the leakage is reduced to
an acceptable level. The time required for this
depends on the operating conditions, i.e. every time
the operating conditions change, a new run-in period
will be started.
Under normal conditions, the leaking liquid will
evaporate. As a result, no leakage will be detected.
7. Alarms
7.1 Dry running

Disabling the function
To disable the function, set DIP switch 7 to "OFF".

7.3 Auto reset
Caution
Do not start the pump until it has been
filled with liquid. See the quick guide.
Note
We recommend to fit a non-return valve on
the suction side of the pump.
Caution
If a dry-running alarm has been activated,
find the cause before the pump is restarted
in order to prevent damage to the pump.
Note
In case of a very small consumption, the
anti-cycling function may detect this as
cycling and stop the pump inadvertently. If
this occurs, the function can be disabled.
Caution
Set auto reset to "on" only if there is
positive inlet pressure.

8. Fault finding
Warning
Before starting fault finding, switch off the
power supply. Make sure that the power
supply cannot be accidentally switched on.
Fault Cause Remedy
1. The green "0 bar"
indicator light is off
even if the power
supply has been
switched on.
a) The fuses in the electric
installation have burnt.
Replace the fuses. If the new fuses also
burn, check the electric installation.
b) The earth leakage circuit
breaker or the
voltage-operated circuit
breaker has tripped.
Cut in the circuit breaker and check the
electric installation.
c) The PM unit is defective. Repair or replace the PM unit.*
2. The green "Pump on"
indicator light is on,
but the pump does
not start.
a) The power supply to the pump
is disconnected after the PM
unit.
Check the cable connections.
b) The motor protection of the
pump has tripped due to
overload.
Check if the motor/pump is blocked.
Clean if necessary.
c) The pump is defective. Repair or replace the pump.*
d) The PM unit is defective. Repair or replace the PM unit.*
3. The pump does not
start when water is
consumed.
The "Pump on"
indicator light is off.
a) Too big difference in height
between the PM unit and the
tapping point.
Reposition the pump, or increase the start
pressure.

b) The PM unit is defective. Repair or replace the PM unit.*
4. System without
pressure tank:
Frequent
starts/stops.
a) DIP switch 5 set to "ON". Set DIP switch 5 to "OFF".
See the quick guide.
b) Leakage in the pipework. Check and repair the pipework.
c) Non-return valve of the PM
unit is stuck in open position.
Clean or replace the non-return valve.
5. System with
pressure tank:
Frequent
starts/stops.
a) The pressure tank has no
precharge pressure, or the
tank size is insufficient.
Check the tank precharge pressure, and
recharge the tank, if necessary.
If the size of the pressure tank is
insufficient, set DIP switch 5 to "OFF", or
replace the pressure tank.
b) Non-return valve of the PM
unit is leaking.
Clean or replace the non-return valve.
6. The pump does not
stop.
c) The PM unit is defective. Repair or replace the PM unit.*
d) Non-return valve of the PM
unit is stuck in open position.
Clean or replace the non-return valve.
7. The red "Alarm"
indicator light is on.
a) Dry running. Check the water supply.
b) The power supply to the pump
is disconnected after the PM
unit.
Check the cable connections.
c) The motor protection of the
pump has tripped due to
overload.
Check if the motor/pump is blocked.
Clean if necessary.
d) The pump is defective. Repair or replace the pump.*
e) The PM unit is defective. Repair or replace the PM unit.*

* Or contact the nearest Grundfos company or service workshop.
9. Disposal
This product or parts of it must be disposed of in an
environmentally sound way:
1. Use the public or private waste collection service.
2. If this is not possible, contact the nearest
Grundfos company or service workshop.

8. System without
pressure tank:
The red "Alarm"
indicator light flashes
once per period.
a) Cycling.
A tap has not been closed
entirely after use.
Check that all taps have been closed.
b) Cycling.
There is a minor leakage in
the system.
Check the system for leakages.
c) The membrane is defective. Replace the membrane.
9. System with
pressure tank:
The red "Alarm"
indicator light flashes
once per period.
a) Cycling.
The pressure tank has no
precharge pressure, or the
tank size is insufficient.
Check the tank precharge pressure, and
recharge the tank, if necessary.
If the size of the pressure tank is
insufficient, set DIP switch 5 to "OFF", or
replace the pressure tank.

10. The red "Alarm"
indicator light flashes
twice per period.
a) Maximum continuous
operating time (30 minutes).
The pump has been running
continuously for 30 minutes.
Check the system for leakages.
Disable the function to allow the pump to
run for 30 minutes.

11. The red "Alarm"
indicator light flashes
three times per
period, and each
pump start is delayed
a few seconds.
a) Too many start/stop
sequences within a short
period.
The pressure tank has no
precharge pressure, or the
tank size is insufficient.
Check the tank precharge pressure, and
recharge the tank, if necessary.
If the size of the pressure tank is
insufficient, set DIP switch 5 to "OFF", or
replace the pressure tank.
b) Too many start/stop
sequences within a short
period.
The PM 2 is set to start/stop
with 1 bar differential
pressure, i.e. DIP switch 5 is
set to "ON", but no pressure
tank has been installed in the
system.
Set DIP switch 5 to "OFF".
12. The red "Alarm"
indicator light flashes
four times per period.
a) Pressure sensor fault. Repair or replace the PM unit.*
13. The motor cuts out
during operation.
a) The thermal switch in the
motor has tripped due to
overheating.
The thermal switch will cut in automatically
when the motor has cooled sufficiently.
If the problem still persists, check these two
possible causes:
• Impeller stuck.
Clean the pump.
• Motor defective.
Repair or replace the motor.*

4. Електрическо свързване
Проверете дали захранващото напрежение и
честота съответстват на стойностите, описани на
табелата сданни.
5. Ежекторен вентил
Ежекторният вентил се доставя отделно от
помпата.
Свалете пробката (V), вижте фиг. 1, имонтирайте
ежекторния вентил към отвора.

5.1 Настройка на ежекторния вентил
Ежекторният вентил вотвора на пробката (V)
може да бъде завъртян вдве позиции.

Предупреждение
Електрическото свързване трябва да се

електротехник всъответствие с
