I. Manual Instructions
1.1 Symbols
Please read the following symbols contained in this Manual carefully for safe use of
EA500KTS/M grid-connected inverters.

II. Safety Instructions and Precautions
Please read this Manual carefully before installation and operation. Any damage of
equipment caused by improper installation and operation shall not be covered within the
scope of warranty.
2.1 Safety instructions
2.2 Precautions
The inverter should be transported, stored, assembled, installed, operated and
maintained correctly for normal and safe operation.
All operations and wiring work must be completed by professional electrical or
mechanical engineer to ensure that all electrical installation conform to relevant
standards. For safe operation, it is required to have correct grounding and
necessary short-circuit protection.
Before inspected or maintained, the inverter must be operated with DC side and
AC side uncharged.
When PV array is installed during daytime, lighttight material should be used to
cover the solar array, or else the solar array will produce high voltage in the
sunlight.

Close AC disconnecting switch first after installation or maintenance, and then
break direct current. After direct current is broken, close DC disconnecting switch
of inverter first, then the DC disconnecting switch of DC power distribution cabinet,
and finally the DC disconnecting switch of combiner box successively. Please pay
attention to the order of operation, or else the inverter may be damaged.
Follow the instructions for operation and installation in the document and fully
comply with all dangers, warnings and safety information.
2.3 Operation cautions
Operate with power on
Open the machine
Precautions before closing I/O switch of the machine:
All lines are properly connected in accordance with the Manual.
All grounding devices are grounded.
The "EMERGENCY" button is in the reset state (should make sure the EA-type
PV inverter with start-stop knob is turned to "START").
The accessed rated voltage, frequency and phase sequence are in line with the
working range of the machine.
After check, DC voltage polarity is properly connected.
Boot sequence is as follows:
Boot the inverter only when the above is met.

Close the disconnecting switch at the AC output side of the inverter to "ON";
Close the DC output air switch of a combiner box;
Close the DC output air switch of DC distribution cabinet to the inverter (the step
can be ignored if it does not have the air switch);
Close the two DC short circuiters at the input side of the inverter to "ON";
Wait for 1 minute and then close other output air switches of the combiner box in
turn;
Startup of the inverter is completed. (Remark: the inverter should be set in
automatic operation mode)
Note for shutdown:
In general, there are two cases for shutdown: one is normal shutdown for
maintenance and the other is emergency shutdown because of fault or emergency
situation. The shutdown sequences are as follows:
Sequences of normal shutdown for maintenance: change the "Main Control
Allowing" in the protection parameters to 1, clock on "Off" button on the panel,
press down the "EMERGENCY" button (note: as for EA-type PV inverters with
start-stop knob on the door plank, only turn the start-stop knob to "STOP"), turn
the I/O disconnecting switch to "OFF" and then disconnect I/O front and back
switches of the inverter.
Emergency shutdown because of fault or emergency situation: press down the
EMERGENCY button, turn I/O disconnecting switch to "OFF" and then
disconnect I/O front and back switches of the inverter.

III. Introduction to EA500KTS/M Grid-connected
Inverter
3.1 Application of grid-connected inverter
As solar grid-connected inverter, EA500KTS/M is applicable to PV grid-connected
power generation system. In PV grid-connected power generation system, EA500KTS/M
grid-connected inverter can always make solar panel output the maximum power which
will be transmitted to power grid after converted by solar panel. PV grid-connected power
generation system is composed of PV modules, PV combiner box, PV grid-connected
inverter, metering device and distribution system, as shown in Fig. 3-1.

3.3 Circuit structure of EA500KTS/M
Fig. 3-3 is the schematic diagram of EA500KTS/M inverter. The electric energy
produced by PV modules passes through the lightning protection device and DC
filter first. Lightning protection device absorbs DC surge voltage, DC filter inhibits
high-frequency signal transduction interference and capacitive energy storage
keeps DC voltage stable. Three-phase full-bridge inverter converts DC to AC with
same frequency and phase as power grid, produces sine-wave AC through filtering,
inhibits high-frequency signal transduction interference by AC filter and then sends
electric energy to power grid with proper inverter based on the actual situation.

3.4 Operational unit of the inverter
Position of operational unit of EA500KTS/M is shown in Fig. 3-4.

(2) LCD touch screen
It is available to achieve the following functions through LCD touch screen.
To check the current operating parameters
To check and change the operation mode
To check and change the baud rate of communication
To check the current and historical faults
To check and change the setting of background lights
To check and change the current time
(3) Emergency stop switch/start-stop knob (in case such switch is
equipped)
Emergency stop switch can disconnect grid-connected inverter and power grid
immediately in abnormal operation of system for the safety of inverter. Upon
the elimination of fault, remember to disconnect the emergency stop switch
before rerun the system.
Start-stop knob is used for the startup and shutdown of
machine. Turn the knob to "STOP" for shutdown or
restart of inverter and turn the knob to "START" after
POWER indicator light is off and faults are eliminated. In
normal operation, please keep the knob to "START".

(4) DC disconnecting switch
DC disconnecting switch is a switch connecting inverter and PV modules. DC
disconnecting switch must be kept ON in the normal operation of inverter.
In wiring, please turn the DC disconnecting switch to OFF to avoid the risk of electric
shock.
During inspection and maintenance, please turn the DC disconnecting switch to OFF
and wait for 15 minutes to avoid the risk of electric shock. The DC voltage tested by
multimeter should be less than 10V for maintenance.
(5) AC disconnecting switch
AC disconnecting switch is a switch connecting inverter and power grid. The handle
of AC disconnecting switch must be kept ON in the normal operation of inverter.
Remember to disconnect AC disconnecting switch in the following cases:
In wiring, please turn the handle of AC disconnecting switch to OFF.
During inspection and maintenance, please turn the handle of AC disconnecting
switch to OFF and wait for 15 minutes to avoid the risk of electric shock.
Press the emergency stop switch and the handle of AC disconnecting switch should be
turned to OFF and then ON for restoration of connected grid.
