1. Beforeinstallation [Don tthrowawaytheattachedpartsrequiredfortheinstallation]
Determinethe route tomove the unit tothe installationsite;
Transport theunit in it'sboxtoprevent damage.
2. Selectthe installation site
(1)The installationsite shouldbe selectedaccording thefollowing
conditions,which shouldbe approvedbyusers.
where an idealairdistributioncan beensured;
where thereisno blockageinthe airpassage;
where thecondensed watercanbe drained out properly;
where thestructure canbearthe weight of the indoorunit;
where enoughspacecan beensuredformaintenance.
where thelengthsof the piping between indoorunitsand
outdoorunitsare within the allowable range (refertoInstallation
of OutdoorUnits)
where thedistanceof at least 3.28ft (1m)between indoor
units,outdoorunits,mainssupply,connecting wiresandtelevision
orradio should be kept astoavoid theimage disturbanceand
noisesof the above electricalappliances. (Evenif 3.28ft(1m)can
be ensured, noise might occurif there isstrongelectricwave.)
Additionally, equipments, television orothervaluablescant be
put underthe unit astoavoid thecondensed waterof theunit
from dropping intothe above articles, causing damaging.
(2)Height of Ceiling:
The ceiling shouldbe locatedat the place, where the
centralpositionof airoutlet port islessthan 9.84ft (3m)high
abovethe ground.
(3)Hoisting studsshouldbe usedduring installation.
Check if the location can beartheweight of the unit.
Reinforce it beforeinstallation if necessary.

Note:
When thesizesof themain unit dont matchthe holeon the ceiling, regulate the slot on thehanging bracket.
Adjust thelevelwith a levelmeteroraccordingto thefollowingways:

Forthe sizeof theinspection hole onthe ceiling,please refertothe above drawing.
Before installation, finishallthe preparationsforallpipingconnectedto indoorunits(refrigerant, waterdrainage)and
wiring (connectionline of theline control, connection linebetween indoorunitsandoutdoorunit)so that theycan be
connected with indoorunitsright afterinstallation.
Forthe inspection hole, theceilingmight be reinforced tokeep the evennessof the ceiling and avoidthe vibration of the
ceiling. Fordetails, please consult the construction contractor.

In orderto support the weight of the unit, usebarbboltsin the situation with a ceiling.
In the situation with thenew ceiling, useinlaid bolts, embeddedboltsorotherparts
provided onsite. Beforeproceedingthe installation, adjust thegap between the bolt
andthe ceiling.

(b)Please use the accessory drain hose to connect indoorunit'swateroutlet andPVCpipe. Use snapringstotighten
themasshown in the following figure:

Before thetest, ensure the drain hose isclearand allconnectionsaretightlysealed.
Then perform the drainage test asfollows:
1. Add about 0.132gal(500ml)of waterinto the waterpanthrough waterinjection hole.
2. Switch onthe powerand operatethe unit incooling mode. Checkthat the wateroutlet drainswaternormally andthat
thereare noleakagesat the connections.Afterthe drainagetest iscomplete, replace thewaterinjectionhole plug.
3. Inthe condition of new house,test the drainage system before fitting upthe ceiling.
4. Evenif it isinstalledinthe seasonneeded to heating, the testing should also beperformed.

6. Cautions inInstallationof AirReturnDuct& ExhaustDuct
It isrecommended touse ducting, which can be
anti-condensationandabsorb sound. (purchased at localshops)
Heat insulation shouldbe made forthe ducting.
Thespecialexhaustportshouldbe arranged at the placewheretheairisdistributedevenly.
An accesspanelshould be addedto theceiling below the indoorunit forserviceability.

(c)Please userigid PVC adhesive forconnection of otherpipesand ensure there
isno leakage.
(d)Drainhose mustbe wrappedwithinsulation sleeve and tightenedwitha strap to
prevent airleakagefrom producing condensate.
(e)When connectingthe drainhose, do notpullon itto avoid thepipe connections
from getting loose ordisconnected. Drain hoseshould notbe pulledout laterallyfor
morethan 8in(200mm)and should be supported every 31-39in(0.8-1.0m)to avoid bending.
(f)Theend of drain hoseshould bemorethan2in(50mm)awayfromthe groundorthe bottom of drainage tank. It should
not be put inwater.Todirectlydraincondensate into drainageditch, the drain hose must be U-shaped to avoidsmellfrom
enteringthrough thehose into room.
5. Installationof AirReturn& AirExhaustPipes
Forthechoiceandinstallationof airreturnport, airreturn pipe,airexhaustportandexhaustpipe,please consult service
personnelof Haiercompany.Calculatethe design chartandexteriorstaticpressure, andselectthe exhaustpipewith
appropriate length andshapes.

The length difference between pipesshouldbe limitedto be lessthan 2:1;
Make the piping asshort aspossible;
Keep the min. elbow quantity;
Windthe heat insulating materialaround theflange between the mainunitand theexhaust
pipe forheat insulation and sealing. Install the pipingbeforefittingup the ceiling.
At least6.6feet air duct isneeded at airinlet and airoutlet.
Flexibleconnection is needed between indoorunitsand airduct.
ESPshouldbe lower than0.8IWC.

Remarks:
Thisseriesofairconditionerscan be arranged in twoairreturn modes: 1. Airreturnfrom the back(Factorydefault); 2. Air
return fromthebottom (can beadjusted on site. Seethe following figures.)
Note:
The downwardairreturn mode willincreasenoise3-5dB(A). It isrecommended to installthe airconditionerin downward
return airmode 2if enough space isavailable.

10. Examples forBadInstallation
The unit isnot equipped with theairreturn pipe and the innerside of the suspending ceiling isused asthe blast pipe,
causingthe humidityincreasingdueto irregularairmass, strongwind orsunlight fromthe outside world.
There might be condensatedropping down at the outersideof the blast pipe. The humidityis high, evenif the innerside
of thesuspended ceiling isnt usedasa blast pipe in new concrete buildings.At thistime, the wholebodyshouldusethe
thermowoolforheat preservation (the thermo woolcanbe packedwitha steelwire).
It isoperatedunderthe conditionsbeyond the limits, leading tothe overload of the compressor.
Affected bythe capacityof the exhaust fan, andthe strongwind and wind direction in theouterflue, whenthe blowing
quantityof the airconditionerexceedsthe limits, the drained waterof the heat exchangerwilloverflow, causing water
leakage.

Piping Materials&Heat Insulating Materials
As toprevent condensation,heatinsulating treatment
should be performed. The heat insulating treatment
forgasand liquidpiping shouldbe donerespectively.
Addthe refrigerant according to the installation instruction of outdoorunit. The additionof R410Arefrigerant mustbe
performed with adigitalscaleto ensurethe propercharge. Compressorfailure can be caused byoverorundercharging
the system.

1. Connecting circularterminals:
Theconnecting method of circularterminalis shownin the
Fig. Take off the screw, connectit to the terminaltierafter
heading it through the ring at the end of the lead and then
tighten it.
2.Connecting straight terminals:
Theconnectionmethodsforthecircularterminals areshown
asfollows:loosen the screwbeforeputting the line terminal
into the terminaltier, tighten the screwand confirmit has
been clamped bypulling the line gently.
3.Pressing connecting line
Afterconnecting line iscompleted, pressthe connecting
line with clipswhich should presson the protective sleeve
of the connecting line.
