FROST PROTECTION FUNCTION:
Incoolingordrymode,if thetemperatureoftheexhaust
hoseis toolow,theACwillautomaticallygointoaunit
protectionstate.
Whenthe temperaturerises toanormal temperature,the
unitwill automaticallyresumenormaloperation.
OVERFLOW PROTECTION FUNCTION:
Whenwaterinthewaterpanexceedsthe warninglevel,
themachine will automaticallysoundan alarm,theFULL
indicatorlight will flashandthe unit willshutdown. Atthis
point,youneed todrainthewaterfromthelowerdrain(See
Drainageinstructionsfordetails)
Afterthe waterisemptied,the machine themachinewill
automaticallyresumenormal operation.
AUTOMATIC DEFROSTING (on some models)
Themachine has anautomaticdefrostingfunction.
PROTECTION FUNCTION OF THE COMPRESSOR
Toincreasethe servicelifeofthe compressor,theAChas a
3-minutedelayafterthe compressor hasshutoff toprotect
thecompressor.
Thedisplaywill alwaysdefaulttoshowSETtemperature.
Whenthe air conditioneristurnedon,it will automaticallystart inthelastmode andfansettingsselected.
DRAINAGE INSTRUCTIONS
Drainingtheunitmanually:
Note:PleasemovetheACcarefully,donotspillthewaterin
thewaterpanatthebottomoftheunit.
1.WhentheACstopsafterthewaterisfull,turnofftheAC
powerandunplugthepowerplug.
2.Placeawatercontainerlargerthanthesumpcapacity(at
least1-1/2quart)belowthelowerrearwateroutleton
thebacksideofunit.
3.Removetheplug,thewaterwillautomaticallyflowinto
thecontainer.
Note:Duringdrainage,thebodycanbetiltedslightly
backwards.Ifthewatercontainercannotholdallthewater,
beforethewatercontainerisfull,replacethewaterplugas
soonaspossibletopreventwaterfromflowingtotheflooror
thecarpet.
4.Afterwaterhasbeendrainedfromtheunit,re-installthe
waterplugsecurely.
Note:RestarttheACafterthewaterplugisinstalled,
otherwisecondensatewaterfromtheACwilldrainontothe
floororcarpet.
Continuousdrainage(optional,andonlyindrymode)
1.Removetheupperdrainplug.
2.Connectadrainhosewithaninsidediameterof5/8”to
thewateroutlet.
3.Routedrainhosetoabucketorfloordrain.
4.Besuretousealargecontainer(3gallonsorlargeris
recommended)andmonitorthewaterlevelinthecontainer
continuously.Theunitwillnotshutoffwhenthecontainer
isfull.Anoverflowingcontainercancausefloodingand
damagetothefloor.

AIR FILTER
Theair filtersshouldbecleaned at leastevery twoweeksfor
yourunittooperate at optimumefficiency.
CAUTION DO NOT operatetheair conditioner
withouta filter becausedirt and lintwillclog it andreduce
performance.
To clean the upper filter screen frame:
1.Removetheupperandlowerfilterscreens. On thetop
filter,placefinger in recess attopoffilter and pulldown
andoutwardtoremove.Onthelowerfilter,placefinger
inrecessat bottomof filter,pull upwardandoutwardto
removefilter.
2.Removethefilterfromthefilterframe.Itisheld in placeby
4tabs.Afterremoval,wash orvacuumthefilter toremove
thedirtand lint.Make surefilterisdrybeforereinstalling
onthe unit.
CAREANDCLEANING
CLEANING THE SURFACE
Cleansurfaceofmachine with awetsoftcloth. Do not
usechemicals,such asbenzene,alcohol,gasoline,etc.;
otherwise,the surfaceof theairconditionerwillbe damaged
orthe entireunitwillbe damaged.
CLEANING 1.Unplug or disconnectpower.
2.Use only asoftcloth dampened withwatertoclean the
cabinet.
NOTE:
•Donot use aliquidor spraycleanertocleantheair
conditioner.
•DONOTusechemicals,abrasives, ammonia,chlorine
bleach,concentrateddetergents, solventsorscouring
pads.Someofthese chemicals/itemsmaydamageand/or
discoloryourairconditioner.
3.Dry thoroughlywithasoft cloth.
4.Plugin or reconnect power.

STORAGE
Ifthe unit isnotbeing used foralongperiod of time:

1. UNPACK AIR CONDITIONER
NOTE: Before using the air conditioner, keep it upright
for at least 2 hours.
•Removepackagingmaterials. Savethe carton and the
foampackagingforstoringtheair conditionerwhennot
inuse.
NOTE:ThereareNOpackingmaterialsinsidetheair
conditionertoremove—DoNotopenthecabinet.
•Properlydisposeof/recycle allpackingmaterial.
•Handle the airconditionergently.
•Keepthe airconditioneruprightand level.Do not setthe
airconditioneronitsside,front,back orupsidedown.

•Usetwoormorepeopletomoveandinstallair
conditioner.

1.Hold the main
windowpanel so
thatthe L-shaped
edgesof the panel
arefacing you.
2.Align the exhaust
nozzlewith the slotsin
theopening, and then
insertand slide thenozzle
toaccess the holefrom
theback of themain
windowpanel.
3.Turn the mainwindowpanel over, sothatthe nozzle
isaway from you.Insert
aflat tip screwthrough
thehole to fastenthe
windowpanel to the
adapter.

NOTE: Measurethe window openinganduse the
extensionpanels as referencedonpage 10 tofityour
window.
1.Open the windowandplace the windowkitassembly
intothe window.
NOTE: Thewindow assembly isdesignedto
accommodateeither a doublehungor sliding window.
2.Adjust the extensionpanel(s)to the widthorheight of
thewindow as shown.
3.Depending on thenumberof extension panelsused,
turnthe knobs tosecurethe extension panel(s)tothe
mainpanel. Install from the back.
NOTE: Thereare many windowtypeson the market
today.Use the foamstripsand brackets (provided)to
securethe extension panelsthatwill fit thewindow
opening.

1.Graspboth ends oftheexhausthoseandgently pull to
expandthehose.
NOTE: Do notattachadditionalhosestoextendthe
length.This woulddecreasecoolingefficiency andmay
damagethe air conditioner.
2.Using a clockwisemotion,attachtheopen endofthe
exhausthosetotheexhaustnozzle.

NOTE: Whenconnectingthehose, theairconditioner mustbe closeenoughtothewindowthatyouwillnot dislodgethe
windowsealplate.Oncethehoseis connected, move theairconditioner20”(51 cm)fromthewall.

(Baja)a High (Alta)cuandoel acondicionadordeairese
encuentreenfuncionamiento.
NOTA:La velocidaddelventiladornose podráajustar
cuandola unidad seencuentreenel modoDRY (Seco).
5. Botón del Temporizador
Programeun tiempo desde1horahasta24 horasparaque
elacondicionadordeaireseconfigureenOff (Apagado) u
On(Encendido).
6. Modo de Inactividad
Presione elbotónSleep(Inactividad) parainiciar dicho
modo.
NOTA:El modo Sleep(Inactividad)no se podráactivaren
losmodos Dry (Seco)o Fan(Ventilación).
NOTA:Cuando el chasisdela unidad interiorsellene de
agua,la luz deWaterFull(Lleno de Agua)seencenderá.Un
indicadorsonorose activarádurante variossegundosyel

FUNCIÓNDEPROTECCIÓNDECONGELACIÓN:
Enlosmodosderefrigeración o seco,silatemperaturadela
manguerade salida se encuentrademasiadobaja,elacondicionador
deairepasarádeformaautomáticaaunestadodeprotección de la
unidad.Cuandolatemperaturaseeleve a un nivelnormal,launidad
reiniciará de formaautomáticael funcionamientonormal.
FUNCIÓNDEPROTECCIÓNCONTRADESBORDES:
Cuandoelaguadelabandejasupereel niveldeadvertencia,el
motoractivaráde formaautomáticaunaalarma,laluzindicadora
FULL(Completo) parpadearáylaunidadseapagará.Eneste punto,
ustednecesitarádrenarel agua desde el drenajeinferior(paramás
detalles,consulte las instruccionessobreDrenaje).Unavezvaciada
elagua,elmotorreiniciarádeformaautomática el funcionamiento
normal.
DESCONGELACIÓNAUTOMÁTICA(ENALGUNOSMODELOS)
Elmotorcuentaconunafunción dedescongelaciónautomática.
FUNCIÓNDEPROTECCIÓNDELCOMPRESOR
Afindeincrementarlavida útildelcompresor,elacondicionador
deairecuentaconunretrasode3minutosluegodelapagadodel
compresorquepermitelaproteccióndelmismo.
INSTRUCCIONES DE DRENAJE
Drenajemanualdelaunidad:
Nota:Porfavor,muevaelacondicionadordeaireconcuidado,no
derrameaguasobrelabandejaenlaparteinferiordelaunidad.
1.Cuandoelacondicionadordeairesedetengaunavezqueel
agualleguehastaeltope,apagueelmismoydesenchufeel
cabledecorriente.
2.Coloqueunrecipientedeaguaconcapacidadsuperioraaquella
delsumidero(porlomenos1½cuartosdegalón)debajodela
salidadeaguainferiortrasera,sobreelladotraserodelaunidad.
3.Retireelenchufeyelaguacircularádeformaautomáticahacia
adentrodelrecipiente.
Nota:Duranteeldrenaje,elcuerposepodráinclinarlevemente
haciaatrás.Sielrecipientedeaguanologracontenertodaelagua,
antesdequeéstesellene,vuelvaacolocareltapóndelaguatan
prontocomoseposibleparaevitarqueéstacirculehaciaelpisoola
alfombra.
4.Unavezqueelaguaseadrenadadelaunidad,vuelvaacolocarel
tapóndeaguadeformasegura.
Nota:Reinicieelacondicionadordeaireluegodehabercolocadoel
tapóndeagua;deotromodo,elaguacondensadadelacondicionador
deaireserádrenadasobreelpisoolaalfombra.
Drenajecontinuo(opción,ysólo enel modoseco)
1.Retireeltapóndeldrenajesuperior.
2.Conecteunamangueradedrenajeconundiámetroexteriorde
5/8”enlasalidadeagua.
3.Hagacircularunamangueradedrenajehastaunbaldeoel
drenajeenelpiso.
4.Asegúresedeusarunrecipientegrande(serecomiendaunode
3galonesomás)ymonitoreeelniveldeaguadelrecipientede
formacontinua.Launidadnoseapagarácuandoelrecipiente
estélleno.Unrecipientequesedesbordepodráocasionaruna
inundaciónydañossobreelpiso.
