WARNING SYMBOLS AND DEFINITIONS
This is the safety alert symbol. It is used to alert you to potential
personal injury hazards. Obey all safety messages that
follow this symbol to avoid possible injury or death.

Instructions Pertaining to a Risk of Fire, Electric Shock, or Injury to Persons
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
When using an electrical appliance, basic precautions should always be followed, including the following:
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING APPLIANCE
To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury:
1. Do not leave appliance when plugged in. Unplug
from outlet when not in use and before servicing.
2. Do not expose to rain. Store indoors.
3. Do not allow to be used as a toy. Close attention
is necessary when used by or near children.
4. Use only as described in the manual. Use only
manufacturer’s recommended attachments.
5. Do not use with damaged cord or plug.
If appliance is not working as it should, has been
dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dropped
into water, return it to a service center.
6. Do not pull or carry appliance by cord, use cord as
a handle, close a door on cord, or pull cord around
sharp edges or corners. Do not run appliance
over cord. Keep cord away from heated surfaces.
7. Do not unplug appliance by pulling on cord.
To unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord.
8. Do not handle plug or appliance with wet hands.
9. Do not put any object into openings. Do not use
with any opening blocked; keep free of dust, lint,
hair, and anything that may reduce air flow.
10. Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and all parts of
body away from openings and moving parts.
11. Turn off all controls before unplugging.
12. Use extra care when cleaning on stairs.
13. Do not use to pick up flammable or
combustible liquids, such as gasoline, or
use in areas where they may be present.
14. Connect appliance to a properly
grounded outlet only.
15. Do not pick up anything that is burning
or smoking, such as cigarettes,
matches, or hot ashes.

16. To reduce the risk of health hazards from vapors
or dusts, do not vacuum toxic materials unless
a HEPA filter is used. Do not use or store near
hazardous materials. Wood dust mixtures are
highly flammable and can be explosive.
17. Do not introduce sparks or sources
of ignition into the product.
18. Do not leave wood dust in a building or vehicle.
Keep fire extinguishers handy at all times.
19. Can be used for collecting non-flammable liquids.
Dispose of waste in a FIRE SAFE AREA.
20. Carefully inspect the condition of the Dust
Separator parts before use. Check for damaged
parts. Do not use and replace any damaged part.
21. Use only identical replacement parts. Use
of any other part will void warranty.
22. Use the right part for the job. Do not modify
the Dust Separator or use its parts for a
purpose for which they were not intended.
23. Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use
common sense when operating an appliance.
Do not use an appliance while you are tired or under
the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication.
A moment of inattention while operating
appliances may result in serious personal injury.
24. Maintain labels and nameplates
on the appliance. These carry important safety
information. If unreadable or missing, contact
Harbor Freight Tools for a replacement.
25. People with pacemakers should consult their
physician(s) before use. Electromagnetic fields in
close proximity to heart pacemaker could cause
pacemaker interference or pacemaker failure.
26. The warnings, precautions, and instructions
discussed in this instruction manual cannot cover all
possible conditions and situations that may occur.
It must be understood by the operator that
common sense and caution are factors
which cannot be built into this product,
but must be supplied by the operator.

Hose Size Compatible with 1-1/4″, 1-7/8″, 2-1/2″ hoses
Setup - Before Use:
Read the ENTIRE IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION section at the beginning of this
manual including all text under subheadings therein before set up or use of this product.
TO PREVENT SERIOUS INJURY FROM ACCIDENTAL OPERATION:
Turn the Power Switch of the appliance off and unplug the appliance from its
electrical outlet before performing any procedure in this section.
Note: For additional information regarding the parts listed in the following
pages, refer to the Parts List near the end of this manual.
Assembly
1. Place Gasket between Separator Base
and Bucket Lid, lining up holes.
2. Secure Separator to Bucket Lid using 4 Screws,
Washers and Bolts. Tighten securely.

3. Place Bucket Lid onto 5-gallon
bucket (sold separately).
4. Ensure Bucket Lid is completely sealed onto
bucket. Any air leaks will affect performance.
5. Place Hose Clamp over Collection Hose.
6. Place Collection Hose over side port.
Note: Gently heat Collection Hose
as needed if it is too tight.
7. Slide Hose Clamp over side port.
8. Tighten Hose Clamp securely.

10. Place Collection Hose over end of Hose Connector.
11. Slide Hose Clamp over Hose Connector.
12. Tighten Hose Clamp securely.

13. Attach Adapter to top port, then attach vacuum′s
hose (vacuum sold separately) to Adapter.
• 2-1/2″ hose will fit completely over Adapter.
• 1-7/8″ hose will fit halfway over Adapter.
• 1-1/4″ hose will fit inside Adapter.

Operation

Work Area Setup
1. The work area must not allow access by children
or pets to prevent distraction and injury.
2. Route the power cord along a safe route to reach
the work area without creating a tripping hazard or
exposing the power cord to possible damage. The
power cord must reach the work area with enough
extra length to allow free movement while working.
3. There must not be hazardous objects, such as
utility lines or foreign, sharp or hot objects nearby
that will present a hazard while working.
Operating Instructions
CAUTION! TO PREVENT INJURY: After installation, check the condition of accessory parts
during use. If any damage is seen, stop immediately and replace part before continuing use.
1. Use Collection Hose or a 2-1/2″
vacuum tool to vacuum.
2. Plug vacuum′s Power Cord into 120VAC outlet.
3. Turn the vacuum on.
4. When finished, turn off and unplug vacuum.
5. Disconnect Hoses, remove Bucket Lid and
dispose of bucket contents properly.
6. Clean and store Dust Separator according to
User-Maintenance and Storage on page 6.

User-Maintenance and Storage
Procedures not specifically explained in this manual must
be performed only by a qualified technician.
TO PREVENT SERIOUS INJURY FROM ACCIDENTAL OPERATION:
Turn the Power Switch of the appliance off and unplug the appliance from its
electrical outlet before performing any procedure in this section.
TO PREVENT SERIOUS INJURY FROM APPLIANCE FAILURE:
Do not use damaged equipment. If abnormal noise or vibration
occurs, have the problem corrected before further use.
Cleaning, Maintenance, and Lubrication
1. BEFORE EACH USE, inspect the
general condition of the appliance. Check for:
• loose hardware,
• misalignment or binding of moving parts,
• cracked or broken parts,
• damaged electrical wiring, and
• any other condition that may
affect its safe operation.
2. AFTER USE, wipe external surfaces of
the appliance with clean cloth. Store in an
indoor dry area out of reach of children.
3. DAILY: With a soft brush, cloth, or vacuum,
remove debris from the Dust Collector. If
necessary, a mild detergent may be used.

return repaired products at our expense, but if we determine there is no defect, or that the defect resulted
