Firmly bolt the grinder to a work bench or leg stand
atapproximatelyhipheight.
Never reach to pick up a workpiece, a piece of scrap, or
anything else that is in or near the grinding path of the
wheel.
Avoid awkward operations and hand positions where
asuddenslipcouldcauseyourhandtomoveintothe
wheel.Alwaysmakesureyouhavegoodbalance.
Never standorhaveanypartofyourbodyinlinewith
thepathofthewheel.
Do not turn the motor switch on and off rapidly. This
could cause the wheel to loosen and could create a
hazard. Should this ever occur, stand clear and allow
thewheeltocometoacompletestop.Disconnectyour
grinder from the power supply and securely retighten the
wheelnut.
Use only flanges furnishedwiththisbenchgrinder.
If any part of this grinder is missing or should
break, bend, or fail in any way, or should any electrical
component fail to perform properly, shut off the power
switch,removethemachineplugfromthepowersource
and have damaged, missing, or failed parts replaced
beforeresumingoperation.
Do not overtighten the wheel nut. Excessivetightening
cancausethewheeltocrackduringoperation.
Always use the grinder’s wheel guards and safety
shields.
Inspect grinding wheel forvisibledefects.Checkthe
wheel for fissures and cracks, and test for normal operation
priortouse.Replacecrackedwheelimmediately.
Adjust distance between wheel and work rest to main-
tain1/16in. Or lessseparation as thediameter of the
wheeldecreaseswithuse.Thevalueofseparationused
in the marking is to be the separation recommended by
themanufacturerbutshallnotbemorethan1/8in.

Use outdoor extension cords. When tool is used
outdoors,useonlyextensioncordswithapprovedground
connection that are intended for use outdoors and so
marked.
Wheels coast after being turned off.
Never use in an explosive atmosphere. Normal sparking
ofthemotorcouldignitefumes.
Do not use tool if switch does not turn it on and off.
Have defective switches replaced by an authorized
servicecenter.
Inspect tool cords periodically. If damaged, have
repairedbyaqualifiedservicetechnicianatanauthorized
service facility. The conductor with insulation having
an outer surface that is green with or without yellow
stripesistheequipment-groundingconductor.Ifrepair
or replacement of the electric cord or plug is necessary,
do not connect the equipment-grounding conductor to a
liveterminal.Repairorreplaceadamagedorworncord
immediately.Stayconstantlyawareofcordlocationand
keepitwellawayfromtherotatinggrindingwheels.

Use only correct wheels. Do not use wheels with
incorrectsizeholes.Neverusewheelwashersorwheel
boltsthataredefectiveorincorrect.Themaximumwheel
capacityofyourgrinderis6in.
Never touch wheelorothermovingpartsduringuse.
Never start a tool when any rotating component is in
contact with the workpiece.
Do not operate a tool while under the influence of
drugs, alcohol, or any medication.
When servicinguseonlyidenticalreplacementparts.Use
ofanyotherpartsmaycreateahazardorcauseproduct
damage.
Use only recommended accessories listed in this
manualoraddendums.Useofaccessoriesthatarenot
listedmaycausetheriskofpersonalinjury.Instructionsfor
safeuseofaccessoriesareincludedwiththeaccessory.
Double check all setups. Make sure wheel is tight
and not making contact with saw or workpiece before
connectingtopowersupply.
Ground all tools. If tool is equipped with three-prong
plug, it should be plugged into a three-hole electrical
receptacle.
Check with a qualified electrician orservicepersonnelif
the grounding instructions are not completely understood
orifindoubtastowhetherthetoolisproperlygrounded.
Use only correct electrical devices: 3-wire extension
cords that have 3-prong grounding plugs and 3-pole
receptaclesthatacceptthetool’splug.
Do not modify theplugprovided.Ifitwillnotfittheoutlet,
havetheproperoutletinstalledbyaqualifiedelectrician.
